GM's thread about nothing (55 Viewers)

I saw the first episode of Breaking Bad....well, most of it. Always meant to go back and watch the rest of it. Seemed goodish.
I'm on my 5th episode of the day. I've watched 32 episodes since last Wednesday. I can't remember my kids names, my wife may have left me, and the lawn badly needs to be mowed. I would watch it, if I were you.

Will look for it at the library.

Wait, do you work during the day? 5 hours of TV? Go outside, man. Play. Winter's coming and she plans to be harsh, like a meth dealer who got stiffed, robbed and wronged.

It's "research".

Seriously. What are you, an air traffic controller or something?

Where the #### do you work and are they hiring?
I watch tv at work. I put a movie on my air and work on my Cinema Display. It's not a big deal
you put a what on a what and do what???
Its a Netflix thing. You wouldn't understand.
This. I put on a show or movie on my 11" MacBook Air that sits to my right on my desk. It is also powering my 27" Cinema Display, which is plenty big enough for me to handle all my work. So the movie runs in the bottom right of my vision while I'm working

I have two monitors. I can put it on one and work on the other one, and listen to it using headphones. I work in the entertainment field so it's really no big deal as long as I'm getting my work done I can call it research.

Why do I keep going in there? One of the best episodes yet (for those who watched,

The Fly
) and the majority of posters are complaining about it and calling it a filler episode. Are there really people out there who want everything to be action and intrigue and explosions without realizing that without character development you wouldn't care about the action that takes place? I see why Truck checked out of that thread and why Tanner ends up in fights in every TV show thread. Sometimes I think the posters here are pretty smart but when it comes to TV and movies there are a lot of dummies.
Right. It's not an action movie. There's a whole thing where people "root" for certain characters and against others, which is one way of looking at it, I suppose. But given that a lot of the "prestige" TV shows are now built around characters who aren't clear-cut "good guys" or "bad guys", it's surprising that people keep looking at Breaking Bad like it's Star Wars.

But then the troublesome bit is that if you're going to have "good guys" and "bad guys", the "good guy" has caught far less #### for his misdeeds in that thread than Skyler has for "being #####y."

Watching Texas A&M/Rice replay. Has there ever been another football player in history with a more punch worthy mug than Johnny Manziel (sp?)? He looks like the ******* child of Corey Feldman and the blond haired bad guy from every 80's movie (Karate Kid, etc). Such a dooooooosh cake.

I must be watching a different show than the guys in that thread.
the horrible guesses about what is going to happen and what everything means really make it painful to read.
This. What is with people's obsession with trying to guess what happens next. That drives me friggin batty...it's not a puzzle to be solved, it's a ### #### story to be told.

The writers and actors and directors have taken us on an unbelievable ride...just sit the #### back and enjoy it.

To be fair, Jay Cutler retired that trophy some time back. But I understand how you feel.

I'd go with ATL, btw.
Por que?

Sorry to hear, krista. Perhaps you can laugh at this.

It appears I haven't paid my electric bill for a while. Some research on the innerwebs indicates it was Dec. 2011. :bag:

I guess I'm lucky it's only $1300.
Is that all bill, or are there penalties in there as well?
Penalties are negligible. Electricity is pretty cheap down here. As to why I haven't been disconnected yet...I live in Hippietown, and cutting off someone's electricity might kill them in this climate.

krista>I got nothing. I just want you and your kitties to be happy.

ETA: and Mr. krista, too, obviously
Gracias. Turns out, by the way, that the electricity guy came out to check this out today and found that our meter isn't working. Totally dead. Muerte. Why this means our bill would then become 10x as much...well, that's Nicaragua.

1. Golden Tate for a $1 is a steal.

2. What? Already? And I vote any of those three except Atlanta.

3. Happy birthday K4
Gracias por tres.

Coming back to the US. :)

Atlanta, Savannah, and New Orleans are the contenders right now.
Why Atlanta?
OK, we're going there as an initial stop because, well, that's where we come in from Delta. But I kind of like Atlanta. We've discovered some interesting, diverse neighborhoods there, the food scene is good, like the weather, LOVE that there's a great airport there as being in Memphis made us long for a real airport again. It has all four sports. I don't know...seems to have a lot going for it.

For culture/history, though, might be lacking, which is why other places are beckoning too.

:lmao:

Who are you?

What do you like about Savannah?

Wat? For reals and permanent and all that? Damn that didn't last long.

If you're fleeing the mosquitoes and poor kitten health, have you thought about somewhere besides the US? I know if I had vaults of mullah and retirement, I'd return to the motherland in a heartbeat. It's like a slightly more expensive but far more socially enlightened version of the US, with better strip clubs and like 10% of the homicides.
Totally with you on this. I just think maybe five-ish more years in the US would better situate us for another move.

I'd be wary of Savannah. Its really cool on a lot of levels, kind of like Charleston.

We moved to Charleston and loved it for about 30 days. The next six months before we gtf out of there were some of the most excruciating ever. Southern accents, manners and charm are very agreeable and pleasant for a while, but the unspoken, underlying racism and general redneckness become quite transparent before long.

Definitely test drive it for a month before investing in property or even a lease.

Actually, with your track record, I'd make that recommendation for any city.
Charleston was actually another serious consideration except that, compared to Savannah, I thought I could stomach saying I lived in Georgia much more so than living in SC.

Plan will be to stay in Atlanta a couple of months to see what we think of that plus try a few other places. Then we will LEASE for at least a year before buying. Despite the fact that I hated Memphis, we were there almost four years, and 18 years in Chicago before that, so my track record is pretty good. ;)

I know this will seem incredibly silly, but...

We have a kitty whom I've written about before, the little fuzzy one who was young but had kidney problems.

Seems being in a tropical climate ain't so awesome for him. Or maybe it has nothing to do with that, but he's just going downhill. But he's on a fast track to awfulsville. Vomiting four days straight, not eating and not in good shape.

Tomorrow to vet and possibly back to US because health of FUZZY is most important damn thing. #######it.
T&P for you and fizzy.
Gracias. Good news is that Fuzzy had a very good day today, with no vomiting and eating not quite as much as he should but much better. He had some bad days in the US but a lot fewer. Of the four cats, only only one is "fine", and two are not thriving but OK. Fuzzy is worse. Perhaps silly to move to a climate like this where we all basically live outdoors. Feels a little selfish. :(

Willing to trade CJ Spiller to whoever is currently on the clock.
for reals?
I accept this offer
Make is so.
GM- Please properly put CJ Spiller on my roster.

We updated this trade a number of times throughout the draft, but evidently it did not make it to the rosters on Yahoo.

Thanks in advance, yic

cos
Was the trade Spiller for Rothlisberger? Was there any other parts to this?
I think we got a stonerpoodle.
We totally win.

ANNOUNCE: K4 and CHARV.

I'm blocked from teh yahoos at work. I don't know that I've ever actually signed into the league site. I am looking to the two of you to set lineups.
Wait...there are lineups in this league?

I laughed at this WAY more than was necessary

Cutler is absolutely unbeatable in this category.

Unbeatable.

Visited ATL twice during the last couple years on business. Great place. Lovely people. Amazing food, and bands play there.

That said, I've never been to Savannah or NO. I'm like 100% Northerner, but I really had a great time there.

I am not added as a user... :oldunsure:
Think we've been over this before, but yahoo won't allow more than one co-manager.

I'll send y'all a PM on FB tomorrow with my proposed lineup that you can comment on if you wish.

So, happy birthday, Krista.

I and the boys have all chipped in and decided to buy you a new city.

Have you thought about which part of Bakersfield you'd like to live in?
Oh. Well, that's nice too.

Now kicking for the cospro ninjajobs:

He looks like he has some chops. Kicking about 1/2" right there.

If I hit "like" on a post, does the poster get anything that says his/her (ha! it's a his) post has been liked? I just liked one but would like such poster to know his post was liked, so maybe I need to :goodposting: it or such instead?
