GM's thread about nothing (63 Viewers)

Any insurance experts here? Based on my status with Allstate, they are saying that if I make a claim on my home insurance, that my rates will not increase. I will only lose my 15% claim-free discount for 5 years.

Does anyone actually believe that a claim will not have any affect on my rates at some point in some manner?

By the way, you would not believe the ridiculousness at DirecTV I have had to deal with the past couple days. Too long of a story for me to type, but basically the service guy that came out did not replace the receiver in our office, even though he told my wife he did. Customer service gave me the biggest pile of horse #### on the phone today. I had to threaten to cancel my service over a $20 shipping charge they wanted to charge me to send a replacement unit. The story is laughable but I've done enough typing.

I was scolded on a full flight for putting my laptop bag up high when other people were looking for somewhere to put their suitcases.

Reading through a game thread in the Shark Pool is worse than the Breaking Bad thread. Yes, I realize I'm doing this to myself. I don't know why.

I was on staff for ten years and I appreciate people who are passionate about anything - including fantasy football. But enough is enough. Acting on a message board like you saw the linebacker stunt in real time and thus knew your TE23 would be open for a touchdown is too far.

Pull up to the bar tonight back north and a waitress was out smoking. I sort of recognize her but she calls me Bobby and asks if I want whiskey or if I'm just drinking beer. I haven't been to this place in almost a year. I tell her beer since I have to drive so far. I sit down and she grabs a beer out of the bucket of my GB's and brings it to me before I could even grab one. That's fast.

I should have just done this in the first place:

completely fine to put your laptop bag up if that's your only bag. #### those guys for not being elite with the airlines and refusing to pay to check a bag.
I think it's fine, too (which is why I said it's not a gray area), but this post confuses me. Other than when I moved an entire household to a small Central American country, I never check a bag, and I get something like six checked bags free per flight. Who the hell wants to check a bag if you don't have to?
I almost always check a bag.

I like to bring beers back from cities I visit that cant be purchased where I live. They are fun mementos. I also pack like a high maintenance woman.

1. In my 24 team dynasty league I help my older brother in the late Rounds. He has ended up with guys like Peyton Hillis and victor Cruz in late rounds when I told him they were worth flyers and they had career years. Yes, he has Thomas on my recommendation.

2. In Bentley league my Te is gronkowski. Three hours ago I picked up Dwayne Allen for a starter while gronk is hurt. Picked him over Thomas. Playing Bentley this week. Oooojjhhhhhhh.

I usually check a bag because worrying about if I'm going to have room for it in the overhead bins is too stressful.
Pro Tip: Take your bag with you through security. When it's time to board, wait for the gatekeeper to announce FREE gate checking for anybody wishing to do so. WA LA, free checked bags, for non SWA flights. Happens almost every time. Love the "bins are going to be full, free gate checking" announcement. :moneybag:

that option sucks.

then when you land you have to stand around like a jagoff in the jetway waiting for them to unload the gate-checked bags while all the smart people fly by you with their bags in hand.

That stresses me out too. I may have some anxiety issues.

That's the stressful part. The the jetway starts filling up and you have to find a place to stand where you're out of the way and stuff. :shudder:

I freaking love those threads for the late games. I sit down with a couple of bottles of wine or a twelve pack and go to town.

why are you so lazy that you can't carry your bag the extra 50 feet and slam it in an overhead compartment to save yourself an extra 15 minutes when deboarding?

I hate gamblin on whether or not there will be room in the overheads near my seat for my carryons by the time my plebian butt is allowed to board. I hate it when I get there and they are all packed around me. Then what? Go snark another and get that guy mad at me? I generally don't pay money to check...hell I don't pack enough to check...but give me a free option to gate check? I'm in for that. Unless I'm in a hurry.

So Sunday is the 1 year of when my nephew was "killed" save it, not why I'm posting. However it has done a number on Mrs. SLB. So me a few minutes ago

Mrs. SLB: (Combing her hair in the bathroom)

Me: (Grab her around the waist) So you think I should hit the gym to get big muscles, you know, to be hotter to you?

Mrs. SLB: You couldn't be any more hotter to me.

Me: See, that's what I thought. Heard it so many times by....

Mrs. SLB Have you been smoking pot?

Me: Uh yeah...because I figured you would think that was hot

Mrs. SLB You stink, get away from me.

nice league where Dwayne Allen is left unprotected. Did your 2yo play as well?
With the utmost respect, who the #### is Dwayne Allen?

Of the 11 teams that attended the draft in person, I'm pretty sure 6 were stoned (I know the Dallas crew was and am pretty sure the cosjobs crew was), one was on a 24 hour plus bender and bought several rounds of whiskey shots and two teams had co-owners that argued with each other like old married folks the whole time. The Dallas guys also were working off copies of Fantasy Football Index that they picked up across the street immediately before the draft which is how one of them picked Michael Turner and Michael Crabtree. That left me and the middle aged churchy guy as the only people conducting the auction generally in our right minds.

Julius Thomas at $2 was a no-brainer in this Subscriber thing, right?
yep
Did anyone seriously not pick him? I haven't paid attention to crap about fantasy this year and even I knew to take him. Figured it wouldn't give me jack as far as an advantage because he'd be on every other squad.
Getting a little shark pooly in here, rookie.
I can't believe you guys know this much about football still.
