GM's thread about nothing (28 Viewers)

Some excellent suggestions in here. Going to print them out and show them to the wife for consideration. "Hey honey, our friend Damon suggested we name our daughter 'slut' and she isn't even born yet. But don't worry, the spelling is unique!"

Thorn, package arrive, thanks for the beer GB!!

GM, I'll send the check to you in the next day or two.
What beers did you get? I only got one Allagash White with my package. It was, as expected, pure heaven. Hope you got a few of those too. Loved it.

Can you send me your address via email or something? I'll get the check to you this week.

My son wanted to take some time off from organized sports, which was totally fine with us. But I really think he needs to be involved in something that can help with coordination. I am going to take him to a tae kwon do open house thing this weekend. Not sure how much, if at all, I should push it.
If you decide to do TKD, just be careful before you sign any contracts. My son takes TKD at a local Victory Martial Arts place, and they have some language in the contract that basically locks you into paying for several years. And it aint cheap. Our contract binds you to monthly payments until you reach a certain level of black belt which can take quite a long time to achieve. And if you want to get out of the contract, you have to pay some huge amount of money.
Jesus, that's horrible!

My oldest started swimming last year and loves it. He's not bad, either. Best of all is it's very cheap compared to some other sports out there.

Co-ed Confidential is so predictable.
It's no Hot Springs Hotel.
I am pretty sure this isn't going to be COlin's kids name.
Pretty sure he's going with Hazel.

Speaking of Hazel, for the first 14 months of her life, she's been incredibly attached to her mom, which is pretty natural since she's the food source and is a little more nurturing than her near-do-well (sp?) father. She reaches out for her, lunges from my arms to hers at times and basically treats me like most women, with disgust and scorn. But over the last week, I've started taking her to her caregiver as it's closer to my office and the last few days, she's cried and lunged for me when I'm heading out the door. Kinda makes this old jerkass feel pretty loved inside.

Glad I dissuaded my GB TRE from getting sucked in. Can't imagine how ridiculous somebody would find last night's episode if they'd never watched the show before.
I must be the largest detuned idiot out there. I have no idea what Sons of Anarchy is. I don't know what Walking Dead is either. I do know Breaking Bad as I watched the first episode (most of it, I hope to watch the rest of it one day). Where do these shows air? All I know is that the innertubes talks about them an awful lot but outside of my interactions with you folks here, I never hear anybody in my real world life discuss any of these shows.

Sons of Anarchy: Show about a biker gang in the middle of California. Basically a poorly written soap opera with all kinds of gratuitous violence and sex.

Walking Dead: Slow moving, poorly written soap opera about a group of people trying to survive a zombie apocalypse. Some pretty cool special effects and zombie gross-out stuff but not much more.

You're really not missing much.

Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Walking Dead are all on AMC

Sons of Anarchy is on FX

Sons of Anarchy is about a motorcycle club in California.

Walking Dead is about a zombie apocalypse.

Mad Men is about a NYC ad agency in the 50s/60s.

the shows on AMC are pretty good. Sons was good for a season or so and then sucked ever since.

We gave Mad Men a go a couple years back. I couldn't stay awake. I know it's a terrific show and I'm a booger eater for not loving it, but I just couldn't make it. I'm sure there's a sitcom about a rich white guy adopting a poor black kid out there for me on Fox.

Kinda went through the same thing with mine. My daughter always, always, always went to/wanted my wife (though she said my name first). But my wife did all the feeding (including boob time. Sorry fly.), works from home so was doing pick up and drop off, was always there after pick up before I got home, etc. She's the one who was doing everything, basically. It's tough to be the wanted parent when you're seeing your kid for about 4 hrs/day max during the week.

Then the wife had to travel for work. I did pick up/drop off and was there for everything (excluding boob time. Also sorry, fly) for the better part of a week. That fast, I was the go-to parent when my wife got back. She vacillated for a while after that. Now we've settled in nicely to my wife being the preferred option when she wakes up during the night, while I get the nod most waking hours. I attribute it to natural inclination to want the mother when not completely alert, while beginning to recognize when her thoughts are more clear that women are effin nuts.

My daughter gave me the first kiss she ever gave anyone when she was about a year old. It happened to be right when I got home from work during our busy season so I was tired as hell and beat up. Totally made my day. I'll never forget it. In fact, it just got a little dusty in here as I think about it.

Misunderstood Homer Wang is money.

SLBob>quit trying to get adopted by krista. Just invent a Misunderstood Bob meme and move right in. Apparently she won't lift a finger to stop you.
Meme? You could do a Ken Burns documentary it.

You got the Shin.

The dog came into our room last night while we were sleeping and decided to repeatedly scratch himself which also included his rabies/name medals. I of course popped up swinging while Mrs. SLB dove for cover yelling "Bobby it's the dog! Bobby it's the dog!!". Not sleeping sound is awesome. K4 :bye:
