GM's thread about nothing (31 Viewers)

Pretty confident in saying that I did two things today that no one else on this entire planet did when considered together.

Unfortunately, I can't extrapolate because one of them is illegal and the other is generally unpopular when done by someone who did something illegal.

For the record, neither affected another human being and was more tantamount than me exploring good ole fashioned intellectual curiosity.
I'm intrigued by your potential immorality.

That's the best part. No immorality. Simply pushing the mind to it's limits without constraining based on any dogmatic set of beliefs.

:coffee:

Sorry I'm late. Started a 3 gallon pot of chili and the prep took longer than I thought.

cos - almost finished with "The Son". It's really good. If you like McMurtry and/or McCarthy (or just Western sagas in general), you should like this one.

My Ma says it's the best Texas book since lonesome dove and she reads everything that makes it to the press and half of the stuff that doesn't.

It's going to be a good day. I've got a feeling about Big Orange against the gators.

I haven't enjoyed it as much as Lonesome Dove, but I haven't enjoyed ANY book that much. It's still really, really good and deserves all of the accolades it gets.

To me, Lonesome Dove is the Great American Novel. It's also the only book/film A+/A+ I've ever experienced.

Experimental surgery on a cat, which you then fed to a dog to hide the evidence?

Oh, and good luck against Fla today.
Thanks. We haven't had a big win since....uh....goodness. It's been a really really long time. Probably the win against Miami when Keller Winslow was there. That's been a while. Man, that sucks. Winslow is almost retired from the NFL and his teammate has been dead for years. We haven't won a game against a ranked sec opponent - even an overrated one like Florida - in a really ####### long time. Dooley had LSU beat but not really.

:first beer:

Has anybody talked to SLBD lately? I somehow lost a bunch of numbers switching phones. Haven't seen him around. Great dude.
No sign of him in the wagering thread.
hard to believe that guy would ever disappear for long periods of time.
SLBD takes long breaks from these boards all the time.
It has been a long period of time! Dickface should be back by now.

You would think after several decades Mrs. SLB would learn to not act indifferent to things I say I'm going to do. Like the FB post I just made.

Work question: how old is too old to carry a backpack for work stuff? I'm in sales and travel with my stuff only a couple times a month. I found a backpack I really like and was going to ask for it for Christmas. It is called the Cocoon Slim or something and has pockets for iPad and MacBook and binder and not much else, which is great. But am I too old for a backpack?

Been done

Abe, my answer would be "no, you're not too old; do what works for you" but I'm the furthest you can get from what is appropriate.

PM offdee?

Coolness: Going to see Cornell's homecoming game today, Cornell v. Buknell.

The suck: It's Cornell v. Bucknell.

The suckier: It's a family venture, so the ole' BAC will be fatherly and responsible.

All caught up after a couple days off for cataract surgery. Amazing the difference it made; I didn't realize how bad the eye had gotten. It was like the difference in my shower doors when I was single and new that I'm married.

Wok up on the floor. must have called 911 since emt is here. don't know what happend. lol at them leting me post. back later I hope

I think I've officially become a sappy dad. JR is going to Kids Night Out at the church tonight to play with the other kids instead of going tailgating with me. I should appreciate the opportunity to be completely responsibility-free but I really just think I'm going to miss him.
