Wow, a whole lot of judging, bitterness and jealousy going on the the Assani Fischer thread.

I'm not sure if it's bad as you're making it out to be. Otis is the main antagonist, and in his defense he sent a considerable sum of money to stake Assani recently in a tournament without the knowledge that AF was lighting up doobies in the parking lot. The debate on whether marijuana helps/hurts people playing poker is pretty interesting IMO. Given the controversial nature of marijuana use I don't think it's entirely unreasonable that AF should probably disclose that information when seeking money from online strangers though.
There are a couple "pot is bad" guys in there which just makes it :lmao:

On Sunday I took my kids to the NE game. My 6 year old Will was almost crying after the Brady interception with 2 minutes and change to go. I am giving him a hug and people are streaming out of the stadium.

My son Will, after the boneheaded interception by Brady "Why are so many people leaving?"

Me "They are mad about the game and going to their cars. They think they are going to beat traffic."

Will "I am not ready to go. I don't think they can win though"

Me "I don't think so either, but we stay to the end and root for our team. They might get the ball back."

Will "If they get the ball back, they better throw it to Julian Edelman in the middle and Kembrell Thompkins on the sidelines."

Me- 5 minutes later- Whoah.
Nice. I hate the early leavers.

What's Gillette like for a 6 year old? I can't imagine taking my son to an NFL game.
Not too bad. A lot of public drunkenness, but language was reasonable. He knows a lot about football and the players numbers, and he has to stand on his chair to see, so he stands out. People come from all over to give him high fives.I wouldn't have brought him yet, but he was desperate to go. With all going on related to BB and Chance, I figured - why not? What is the worst that will happen. He is so damn cute, saints fans tailgating gave us a bunch of very tasty jambalaya. Also, hot chicks from 18-40 seek him out to talk to him. He openly gropes them, they stare at hand on their breast, he laughs like a 6 six year old without removing his hand, they laugh and don't move his hand.

This happens everywhere. So, he is good to have around on multiple levels.
You are raising that boy right. Just want to say that I love every one of your poker paintings. I think they are genius.

Sure hope you aren't talking about me GBG.

I don't think pot is bad at all. And I don't necessarily think it makes a person a "worse" money card player although I have a hard time imagining it would make a player demonstratably better.

My point - which was probably made in the wrong place/thread - is that it seems odd to me that any person that calls playing cards their profession would have such a pliable relationship with organization. MAybe AF is very organized and doesn't care to share. But if I were fortunate enough to play cards for a living I would think that I would keep fairly accurate records about where I was both in terms of overall finances and performance. It's essentially a business, and there need to be more day/hour/month/unit that are run profitably then not. When he said, "Over the last twelve months probably not but over the last 15 months probably so" when I asked if he were profitable.....well, that seemed odd to me.

Then the next night after dinner, my wife starts asking him why he was thumping his floor, just to make him REALLY uncomfortable. :D
How old is he?
He's 12. He's made comments to my wife on prior occasions, but usually just something the next day about "noise". This was the first time he's done anything "in the moment"

Pretty sure the "probably so" response to profitability is what threw Abe off.

That, or he is being deliberately vague because he doesn't want to post verifiable information about his earnings in a thread that has his name all over it. He already said that he had no interest in sharing exact details earlier in the thread, seems pretty reasonable to me.

Guster, apologies if I missed it, but is there something that I need to do to recover my pittance from the Red Sox Squares? Or are you waiting until the Sox' season is over - - hopefully not for some time? :)

Thanks my good Man. I am working on a new one right now that (actually I am taking a lunch break) that has Harry Potter's string hat and an angler fish.

This. I came into some pretty good sized poker money once, and it was big enough not to be specific at all.

Yeah, I wasn't sure why Abe didn't pick up on that considering that he's now posting as a fictional Simpsons character here instead of under his real name like he did for years.

He's getting more bold. The next step is posting pics on the internet and slut shaming you two.

It's his life. I don't think he'd do it regularly if he thought it was impairing his game.
People have a beer (or more) all the time when they're playing poker, if one said it helps them loosen up and play better, assuming he doesn't get tanked, people would believe take him at his word.

People are still funny about weed, though. Honestly I think if marijuana had been legal for as long as booze has, this conversation never would've happened.

I don't know the specifics, but I'll throw out a general observation that imbibing an intoxicating substance of any kind before you go into some sort of serious, professional event is not exactly the most professional thing to do.

I wouldn't want to be hearing that my lawyer or surgeon was firing up a doob before a deposition or surgery or something. If you're not doing it to excess and it's on your own time, fine, but right before an event seems very questionable.

good point.

would people staking him expect him to not drink any alcohol during the tournament?

sounds like he mostly smokes up in the morning when he wakes up and just before he goes to sleep. not like he goes into the tank mid-hand and blazes up a spliff at the table.

Since Commishololololol and TF are terrible co-owners and won't post ####. How did the Ice Nachos do?
Despite selecting the best possible lineup this week, Jimmy Graham's dismal showing did us in.

He's a gambler that has his real name splattered all over the internet, why on earth would he even hint, on a messgae board, at how profitable he's been during any period of time???

Anyone that even asks him that on a public board is whacked.

Quick point of clarification... I believe the whole debate started when Assani was giving a recap and mentioned that during the tourney breaks him and a few guys would go back to a car in the parking lot and toke up. To me, that seems like odd behavior when competing in a $10,000 buyin tournament. But I believe Assani when he says it makes him play better.
