So, as I've told my gb gm, I moved out last week. It's pretty clear that this is final. Things were said and done that can't be unsaid or undone (I've really only given a small part of the story here).

I have a boss who may be the best boss in the known universe. She is working out of the Albuquerque office for two weeks, and handed me her keys before she left. Said that I am welcome to stay until she gets back; just clean up after myself.

So I have until next Friday there.

Also, as I've mentioned, my kid sister has been staying in the basement apartment (completely separate entrance; own kitchen and bathroom, etc.). She is moving out next week into her own 1BR apartment. So I talked to my wife, and she is ok with me staying in the basement apartment until we figure out what the best next step is. Her only condition is that she wants me to consider it as if it were a rental, and no traipsing around the house as if I lived there. Sounds reasonable.

I've been out since Friday, and I miss the kids something aweful. Like a hole in my chest. I've seen them a few times; this past sunday and again to carve pumpkins yesterday. So it will be nice to see them every day again.

I've got a couple of friends who have been sending me house/townhouse/duplex listings in the neighborhood. Some are actually reasonably priced. But I really need to do a budget. Wife still doesn't have a full-time job, and I'm not sure she's in a hurry to do it. Baby steps, i guess.

Anyway, that's my update.

Kind of an eventful walk this morning. Some kids (2 girl 1 guy) ran out of gas so I helped them push their car. Uphill, on wet asphalt. Good times.

Then I walked up on a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new highway I mean 30 seconds before they were about to cut it. I was definitely in the background, don't know if I made it on the news or pics though. After I walked away, I thought that I should have mooned them.

Of course I'm pretty sure there were some really high ranking political figures there so I would probably be in jail right now.

They were favored to win. They had the highest run differential and most wins in MLB this year, I think. Not sure what was so stunning about this.

They lead the league in WAR too, if you're into that. I'm not sure what Vegas said, but didn't they have to be the favorites coming in?

Vegas also had them winning 82 games this year. They weren't supposed to be good.

Sure, but they've been pretty good the entire year. This is like a ghost that jumps out to surprise you, but the jump out is over the span of six months and you're still surprised.

And this goes until 5 which means I will be in Austin traffic for the drive home.

I love Halloween so hard. Possibly the best holiday out there.

I started drinking heavily then had two different neighbors invited me over to their bon fire. I just wasn't feeling it and they would both know if I chose one over the other considering their clos proximately. This has to be the first Halloween in decades that I was sober.
