Remember the MPRE? No, I don't either. But I vaguely recall it's something I took in 1991 (remember that I am practically Tanner's age).

I'm currently applying for waiver into the GA bar, and because IL (the state from which I'm waiving) requires GA waiver candidates to submit an MPRE passing score, GA requires IL waiver candidates to do so (it is not in the waiver requirements for GA, but the state has this charming "We're going to subject your people to whatever you subject our people to" thing). Today I got a letter regarding my application telling me I had to get the National Conference of Law Examiners to send proof of the score.

I went to the NCLE site and yay, found the link for requesting test scores! Great, this will be easy! Oh, except they don't deal with scores that are more than 15 years old. Like Homer, but with test scores. They say to call the IL bar to see if they'll send it. Except, here's more great news, I already know from another stupid thing I had to do that IL doesn't keep any record of anything to do with bar applications that are that old.

Fine, I'll just take the damn thing again. Huge pain in the ###, but how hard could it be? Just looked up the next testing date. November 4. Well, OK, I can do that as I'm sure it's not difficult and I can cram. Oops, no registrations allowed at this point. Next test date? March 29, 2014.

They were favored to win. They had the highest run differential and most wins in MLB this year, I think. Not sure what was so stunning about this.

They lead the league in WAR too, if you're into that. I'm not sure what Vegas said, but didn't they have to be the favorites coming in?

Vegas also had them winning 82 games this year. They weren't supposed to be good.

Sure, but they've been pretty good the entire year. This is like a ghost that jumps out to surprise you, but the jump out is over the span of six months and you're still surprised.

I love Halloween so hard. Possibly the best holiday out there.

I started drinking heavily then had two different neighbors invited me over to their bon fire. I just wasn't feeling it and they would both know if I chose one over the other considering their clos proximately. This has to be the first Halloween in decades that I was sober.

I poured 4 fingers of whiskey, drank it and stopped.

But the evidence for a link between sugar consumption and hyperactivity is surprisingly slim. The most comprehensive study is a meta-analysis carried out in 1995, where the authors searched for the best-designed studies on the subject, combined the data and re-analysed it. There are two main types of research: some studies gave children either sucrose or an artificial sweetener, such as aspartame, and then monitored their subsequent behaviour without children or parents knowing whether they ate real sugar; others focus on children with a diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), or another condition to see whether sugar affects them particularly.

Between them, the studies covered age ranges from two to thirty, and were well-designed though fairly small. All but one of the sixteen studies had fewer than fifty participants and one had just five. But the results of the meta-analysis were clear: sugar could not be shown to affect behaviour or cognitive performance.

I have been on the phone for 15 minutes with a guy needed Sharepoint support. I have told him no fewer than 6 times that I don't know anything about Sharepoint and while I will try to help, I am probably the wrong person on the planet to talk to.

And he is still asking me questions.

Pretty much. And today was payday and my commission check was $600 short as I didn't calculate my draw correctly. This $600 shortage now has my wife in a panic and floating the idea of moving to south Texas (aka the far side of Hell) where all of her rich aunts own companies so one of them can bestow a job on me through pity that will allow me to earn a more respectable wage.

If it weren't Halloween and my 3 year old weren't already dressed as Minnie Mouse I might be tempted to go jump off a bridge.

Pregnant women are a little emotional. Give her some long leash. Or like YSR, just keep her drunk the whole time.
