GM's thread about nothing (24 Viewers)

People are really being mean to that Eminence guy.
It's like jumping into the Wayback Machine and landing in the early days of woz.
He's real?

He posted pictures of someone he claims is him. I can confirm he was where he said he was. Or at least that one of the girls he provided a picture of was where he said he was.
Recent pictures of himself match photos he uploaded several months ago in a different thread. Would be a pretty elaborate fishing attempt. I think he's real.

Not sure how this makes me feel.

Makes me feel glad that I'm not eminence

This was unexpected:

Ice Bags & Nachos 271.38, Amazon Primelvrs 197.14
Ice Bags & Nachos (5-4, 1,394.32) had a record-setting performance this week, putting up the highest score in the league this season to defeat Amazon Primelvrs (2-7, 1,277.22), 271.38 - 197.14. Ice Bags & Nachos scored 103.7% more points than projected (133.25), the highest percentage in the league this season.

This crappy teams' continued non-failure is proof beyond a shadow of a doubt that fantasy sports is mostly luck.

Of course, this week both of our QBs are on bye. We'll need another 6 combined TDs from Andre Johnson and TY Hilton to have a chance.

Tearjerker warning

Had to do a will signing at a bedside today. 93 year old little Italian lady. She kept wanting to hold my hand, telling me she was trying to accept God's will, but that she had been up and around just a couple of months prior. She really just didn't seem ready to go, but I guess stomach cancer had taken a big turn for the worse. Told me how she had the best kids in the world, then teared up at the idea that they would ever have to take care of her. She also tried to get her son to get out her checkbook to pay me, and I'm telling her it's fine, we'll just bill her. "What if I'm gone by the time the bill comes?" :(

Damn, my daughter poots a lot.

Also, effective today, we've been disowned by the hoarders. I'm sure it will blow over in the next few weeks but as of now we aren't invited to Thanksgiving. Baby steps. :pickle:

I'm so happy for you. Best news I've heard all day

I've had two thanksgivings already, with a third still coming.

And the news keeps getting better:

JAX - RB Denard Robinson moves up the depth chart

Source: Jaguars.com - John Oehser

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley said the team has moved RB Denard Robinson up the depth chart into the No. 2 running back role. 'We bumped him up to number two and we’re intrigued by him at the tailback spot,' Bradley said. 'I would say that we’re going to still continue with that process.'

Robinson is an offensive weapon who may get more playing time going forward. Keep an eye on him in dynasty leagues but we don't see much (if any) value in re-draft leagues.

Survived another day without smoking. :coffee:

I have heard that the chemicals are out of your body by day 3 and after that it's all some sort of physical addiction or some such. We shall see.

It happens. Not trying to be a deterrent, but 9 years, 5 days and about 12 hours later, I still get a craving here and there. At this point I doubt it will ever go away completely, but I can assure that those cravings become less frequent.

That's how I started again - even when I quit I always imagined I'd start again at some point. And honestly I am having trouble convincing myself that I'm done smoking entirely which means i may be defeating myself already, but maybe that's normal too.

Oh, and I put this in the NBA thread but I imagine it will be equally awesome for Jim and Co. http://www.mavs.com/videos/what-the-mavs-say/

I quit from age 21-26 and was dumb enough to start again. A couple of smokes on a drunken afternoon got that ball rolling. Within a week, I was at the conv store counter asking for a pack of Newports when things at work went south one day. I was full-fledged smoker again for about 7-8 years.

Math that up, and I'm sounding Tannerold®.
anyway. I've dodged that bullet twice this time. 2 cigarettes over the those last 9 years, but neither allowed nicotine to grab onto my soul again.

Full disclosure: Plenty of cigars, and a bong or 400, along the way.

One of my bosses just called the office to tell me that one of the liquor stores in town is getting Pappy today and that there were only 12 people in line right now.

Today is one of the days when I had Romo bring me to work so I have no car. And he's 1.) in the middle of breakfast with his dad (to discuss all of the crazy with his mother and sister) and 2.) not a bourbon drinker so I would not be able to sell him on going there for this.

Sad.

I quit cold turkey and wanted to burn one constantly. The cravings gradually subsided but I still had them multiple times daily for a decade. I also just assumed I would have them the rest of my life, but they're finally gone. I don't recall exactly when they disappeared, but I've been smoke free for almost 14 years and I have zero urges anymore. Hang in there, you can beat it.

I could think of plenty of ways that my wife could convince me to do something like this for her.
