I am in Orlando.
Sorry to hear it
I am now drunk in Orlando. This trade show has free booze and lots of cool stuff from companies like Dropbox. And somehow I am a VIP so lots of cute college coeds are tending to my every need. I have a suite at the Waldorf Astoria and no meetings til noon.

Slap. It. High.
Serious question: Can you snag me a Dropbox shirt?
Need the size in the bext half hour?
Can you grab me an XL one or is it too late?
On it.
Missed this Abe -- Let me know and i will PM you an address. Also - happy drunken shenanigans.

My wife is insane. My girl broke out in hives the other day, and after taking her to the doctor the doc said it was an allergy to something, most likely the cough medicine we had started giving her for a really bad cough - medicine she'd never had before. Now, thanks to the miracle of facebook/internet/her friends, she's wondering if we should stop letting her have peanuts or almonds or like, 500 other things. Keep in mind this kid has a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch every single day.
Isn't there an oil you can buy to cure allergies?

good morning, jimtanners.

I'm still drunk from last night. not just a little. I have a 10 o'clock meeting that may result in me forming a new law firm with two of the partners of the place I work now.

would it be bad to have a bloody mary right now just to even things up and prevent a hangover in the middle of the meeting?

If you're already swimming, what's the harm in adding a little more water to the pool?

Rude > I'm getting my wife some UW hockey tickets. Would we be better off behind the goal, on a circle, or in the corners (only single tickets available on the blue line). Also if not on the glass is it better to be a bit higher up?

If on glass, i prefer corners, but sometimes its hard to see the action on the other end. My favorite seats are usually center ice and a bit higher up. actually 200 (mid level) at the United Center are the best.

Can't get any glass seats but there are some in the next few rows in the corners and right behind the goal. I wasn't sure about the sight lines in those spots. Also only nosebleeds are available near center ice. I might be able to get some on a blue line in the mid level. Thanks

Watched "the place beyond the pines" last night. Loved it. Homer - have you seen? We have similar taste in movies so I recommend it. It isn't an actiony flick...long slow burn. But it is filmed really well and very sad.

Yeah, I saw it. Not really sure how I felt about it.

I liked the first half but I think it bogged down once they started focusing on the sons

I'll go out on a limb and say that Gosling is probably the best actor of his generation

He's pretty good. I know it makes me gay that I've enjoyed all of his movies and all of clooney's movies.

I found Aj to be so intensely unlikeable that I immediately started thinking of ways to make sure my 3 year old daughter is shipped off to a nunnery long before she has a chance to encounter someone like that in high school.

Only God Forgives with Ryan Gosling is horrible.
Intereting. Drive is one or my five favorite ever so I was looking forward to that one.
Well then, by all means, feel free to form your own opinion. Personally, I couldn't wait for this movie to be over.
Never saw Only God Forgives but Drive is one of the best movies to come out in the last 5 years or so. Just outstanding.

Corners suck. Center ice is typically best but behind the goals are good if you like to watch plays develop. Only downside is you miss stuff at the opposite end. Sight lines down low can be bad but you appreciate the speed when you are closer.

With a vegetarian wife and a very limited budget, the Malaise family tends to avoid steakhouses, which is probably good for my heart and better for my wallet. But I do love me a good steak, will cook them at home and from time to time, will shoehorn a steakhouse visit in with friends or business associates. Last night was one of those occasions as a broker we've done business with for over a decade flew into town and treated us to Laurelhurst Market. Gawddamn Kilogram! Had the rib eye and it was simply marvelous. I am bumping this place up to the top of my list for Portland area steakhouses. Can't get it out of my mind...

Especially if you're taking Instagrams of the ScoreGondola

Slightly better than the $3.00 steak served at the circus tent stripper place?

Hey everybody...

Haven't checked in for a while but there's something cool on tonight some of you might enjoy. The new Pawn Stars episode at either 9:30 or 10:30 eastern time. An attorney I work with has a client who owns Johnny Cash's old Rolls Royce. Got it right from the man himself. They took it out to Vegas last month and put it on the show on their way to drop it off in Hollywood for some upcoming auction. The guy is going to be on with W.S. "Fluke" Holland, Johnny's drummer and, I believe, the only surviving member of the Tennessee 3. We met him about a year and a half ago when he was in town here for an appearance. Took him to the car and he told us all kinds of stories. I'll try to get back on later and fill in some more detail, but thought some of you might be interested in checking it out.

ETA: 10:30 eastern is the correct time.

The car was a gift to Cash from the network when the Johnny Cash Show was #1. Fluke Holland and another guy from Johnny's entourage went to New York to pick it up at the docks and drive it back to Tennessee. Before he was a drummer Fluke was a mechanic, so whenever something went wrong with one of Johnny's cars he would have Fluke take a look at it. At one point he put a little spot weld on the float in the carburetor on the Rolls. This would have been back in the mid-70s. A couple years ago when we took him to see the car he popped the hood, looked in, and said "well whattaya know. My weld is still holding."
That's pretty cool!

With you next to me? No way.

Started Breaking Bad. Whoa.
Hey, wait just one gosh-durned second here. Weren't we watching Season 5 of Wires first? (I have watched the first two episodes.)
I figured I could, you know....watch BOTH at the same time. Too much?

You're officially ahead of me now in Wires. But I'm through 2 episodes of Breaking Bad (though I think my DVR missed the 2nd episode, so I technically have watched the pilot and the 3rd episode only) and I am ready to jump into this thing with both livers.

The second episode is kind of important.
