So we spent the day with my wife's side of the family today then stopped by my in-laws "just for a minute". I wanted to get out of there with the storm coming. Of course we were there for an hour and left about 2 minutes before hell opened up. That was fun 
. I'm not even sure what you're supposed to do if you're driving and there's a tornado warning. Pull into a Wendy's and go into their bathroom?

Probably both.
A friend of mine lost his 17-year-old daughter this week under similar circumstances to your friend. Just awful.

The second part. And what a lot of people call "bullying" these days is just kids being mean.
My students watched one of those PSA type videos on how not to be a dickmitten. There was a scene where a new girl at school asked to sit at a table with some popular girls. The snobs said "no". Another girl invited the new girl to sit with her.
Several of my students thought this was an example of bullying.

I went to the funeral of a 6 day old baby this week. One of my friend's from high school is the father. The baby was due Nov 19 and came a little early but nothing to normally worry about. No warning signs apparently that there'd be anything wrong. She fought 6 days in 2 different hospitals. I've never been to anything so sad.

I got really hammered last night. My wife told me "I'm goint to bed. I want to get up early tomorrow and clean." For some drunk reason I said "Yeah, tomorrow I'm going to clean your vag ina."

At the risk of provoking the ire of Homer...
Things are going swimmingly with Chicago girl.
She was in town this past week and we hung out a couple times, the second of which was Friday night.
We went to a concert (Trampled by Turtles) and then went back to my place for drinks, chatting and some Netflix. Things escalated quickly after a couple episodes of Portlandia.
She crossed into the holiest of territory... a sleepover! Asking for pajamas definitely bumped her up another level in my book.
When we woke up, i got her to tell me her favorite breakfast and happened to have everything to make it, so let her rest a bit longer and made her breakfast. She'll be back in town in a week and we've got plans to hang out again.
And in even better news, she currently travels a lot for work, but is considering testing out a "grounded" assignment where she doesnt do any travel and as luck would have it, the only place her work allows that is in Cincy. She's still figuring out the details but it's looking like she might do a 4 month assignment sometime this year and depending how she likes it, might make the change permanent.

I'm close with the cousins on one side of my family and we'll all be together for the first time in 3 years for thanksgiving.
Super excited to see them all again, especially since the last two times we've all been together have been for the death of our grandparents.

I'm making beef jerky (not an incredibly lazy euphemism). Alton Brown has a technique where he just uses a box fan and some A/C filters. I'm doing mine in a dehydrator but just at room temp so it doesn't get too dried out (so essentially the same as AB). I'm not going to die if when I eat it, am I?

I would say that while my wife is still having migraines, she is feeling good enough to be motivated to do something about the condition of the house. With how she has been feeling, and me traveling and us being busy with the kids, we have fallen behind in repairs, organization, etc. I took a van-full of crap to Goodwill this weekend and have half of the garage filled with items we are listing on Craigslist. This has been a big source of stress for the both of us so hopefully things are on the upswing.
