Hey Sweet J, nice to meet you. You're right that I am a lawyer in the sense that I graduated from an accredited law school and am licensed to practice in PA and NJ, but I work with my family business in construction and development now. Previously I worked for a national law firm as an employment litigation associate. I currently live in Pittsburgh, but am looking to change careers (get back into law) and move to the Philadelphia area. That's where my wife is from. Married 1.5 years. Got back from my daughter's doctor--this woman has been my daughter's pediatrician for 7 years, and she knows my daughter really well and was dragged into the divorce a bit, and knows that I have joint legal custody and that I'm heavily involved in my daughter's life. My ex's story is about 70% truth, 30% fabrication about what happened and why my daughter is now living with me. It could be that she was upset and misinterpreted what the doc said; more likely the boyfriend kicked my daughter out and my ex used the doc as an excuse. There was no report of abuse, and the doc was shocked to hear that my ex dropped my daughter off at my house and said she was living with me full time now. She says the claim that she recommended my daughter not go to their house at all is a complete lie, and gave me a copy of her written notes and recommendations.

Holy Jesus.....what a mess. As Cosjobs said, it's for the best she is with you now. Hold on tightly. Keep her away from insanity.

I get so confused sometimes, with the identities of Fish, T-Bell/redmond, and Leroy Jenkins. For some reason, I thought one of these was duplicates. Aren't every single one of you semi-conservative (redmond) lawyers in the west/midwest (if it's not touching the atlantic or the pacific, it's really all the same to me) who are divorced/separated with kids?

At the very least, I thought fish and LJ were the same, or at least bunched them together (at least I know that t-bell is the token conservative here). I gotta work on my notebook.

GF is giving me the "it's not you, it's me" by text, saying she's not ready to handle two kids full time, and we should back off on moving in together, and that she doesn't think she's strong enough to be able to keep our relationship going if we can't spend the night together nearly every night like we could when I didn't have my daughter.

Tough call. While I would miss my children terribly when they were gone with their mother, the potential upside to the whole situation would be being able to live like a grown up exclusively for a week until the kids return.

As T Bell pointed out, I am RedmondLonghorn, not redman. He is a lawyer, I am not. I haven't posted here in forever, but thought I would come back, since I heard you mentioned me (not really). I don't know if I am "semi-conservative", since I am not sure what that means. And I live in a state that is on the actual west coact, as does T Bell.

I can't say I have actually masturbated thinking about her in this decade, but I think Cybil Shepherd qualifies. I will fix that oversight in the shower later.

Being a single parent with joint custody is definitely not all bad (assuming your ex is a good parent, which mine is). I like (most of) my nights without my son.
