GM's thread about nothing (17 Viewers)

My wife and I have argued enough in the last three days that she is leaving with the kid for thanksgiving right now. Headed to her parents. I am invited to join them next week.

Honestly, this kind of thing should upset me but we have been fighting so much I'm kind of relieved. It will be good for her to have a couple days without me and me without her. Will miss the kid a ton though.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
:lmao:
:goodposting:

My ex has my son and my gf and I are currently "taking a break". All my family's out of state and I can't afford to travel to see them.

I think I'm going to roast a Cornish game hen and some fixings, make sweet, sweet love to a bottle of Bourbon, rap with all you guys, play World of Tanks incessantly, jerk off, and then fall asleep crying into my pillow. Happy Thanksgiving!

BTW, it's entirely in keeping with the spirit of Thanksgiving if I jerk off to thoughts of Pocahontas, right?
Absolutely!

As I stated earlier, my Thanksgiving was cancelled. We were going to host it at our house this year, but my sister/mother have opted to team up against my current wife (a move they mastered and perfected when I was with my first wife) and will be doing their own thing without my family. And since my wife doesn't eat turkey, well...I'll be drinking heavily and hopefully eating pills.

Sorry to hear about that GB.

Have things soured in general between your wife and your family, or is this just a special situation?

I get so confused sometimes, with the identities of Fish, T-Bell/redmond, and Leroy Jenkins. For some reason, I thought one of these was duplicates. Aren't every single one of you semi-conservative (redmond) lawyers in the west/midwest (if it's not touching the atlantic or the pacific, it's really all the same to me) who are divorced/separated with kids?

At the very least, I thought fish and LJ were the same, or at least bunched them together (at least I know that t-bell is the token conservative here). I gotta work on my notebook.
As T Bell pointed out, I am RedmondLonghorn, not redman. He is a lawyer, I am not. I haven't posted here in forever, but thought I would come back, since I heard you mentioned me (not really). I don't know if I am "semi-conservative", since I am not sure what that means. And I live in a state that is on the actual west coact, as does T Bell.

So your notebook has some decent detail, but is a little off on the specifics.
Hey GB! Happy Turkey Day! Hope your family didn't disown you.

redman, not Redmond (Leghorn - does he even post here anymore?).

Yup, I'm a divorced SoCal lawyer with a kid. You can't throw a stick around here..., etc.
I'm a divorced former SoCal lawyer with a kid. Can't believe you can't keep this straight.Oh, it's a red letter day. GF is giving me the "it's not you, it's me" by text, saying she's not ready to handle two kids full time, and we should back off on moving in together, and that she doesn't think she's strong enough to be able to keep our relationship going if we can't spend the night together nearly every night like we could when I didn't have my daughter.

FML
Chalk this one up as a win, dude.
Um, yeah.

Friends of yours? I still had Spaczilla like hair when this pic was taken. I'll take them all. Rack em.
All graduated a year ahead of me. I had a huge crush on 7, who swam with me on the swim team and toyed with me endlessly because she knew I dug her chili. Her dad owned a fleet of car dealerships and she drove a brand new shiny red Nissan 300Z. I tried to make a move on her once in that car and she laughed at me. :bag:

Also, #5 is not Michael Jackson, but is somebody....

Cal had a "great" day at school today. "It wasn't as bad as I expected". So no issues at all Cal? "Well I kind of got into an argument with my teacher for a little bit". :wall: :wall:

At least they are all leaving now so OWD is going to start early. Mrs. SLB signed them up for Karate. You know, because a Grizzly Bear without a machine gun isn't menacing enough.

I'll never be nominated for Father of the Year but I have no idea how parents can do such sh***y things to their kids.

If I had a dime for every f'ed up custody situation that I've had to be privy to thanks to my job...I'd have a lot of dimes.
Man, remember when you could buy a TON of stuff for a dime? Oh, wait...of course you do.

Modified Stableford GM Numbering System. #7 is the one taking the picture.

Things were excellent for years, then back in February, my liquored up sister yelled at Kellen because he had the audacity to say it was unfair that his cousin - who didn't eat any of his dinner and was told repeatedly that if he didn't at least TRY some of his dinner, he wouldn't get dessert - got dessert after my sister complained about it. Sister then stormed out of the house, sat in her car and waited for us to usher her kids out to her. Drama queen (you think I'm bad?).

It was a situation that - had you observed it - you would have said "wow, that was uncalled for...a grown woman screaming at a 10 year old boy for asking a good question before storming out of the house?". A day later, my mother sided with my sister, blamed my son for the problems and refused to back me and my wife who wanted an apology.

Just a small peek into the insanity that is my family and I feel bad even bringing it up considering good people in here have REAL problems, but it's a pattern that's happened again and again in my life. With my serious GFs first, my first wife and now my second wife, who is a saint. Sister acts like a jerkass, cries and whines to my mother, convinces her the fault lies with my SO and soon I have two irrational termagants telling me how awful the love of my life is.

This one stupid incident led to more and more stupid incidents and though I thought peace was finally forthcoming this fall, bad blood reared its ugly head again over the weekend and BOOM....no Thanksgiving, no nothing but grief, heartache and pain.

Blah blah blah....I'm used to it by now. Carry on.

ETA: FIX THE GAWDDAMN PARAGRAPH BREAK PROBLEM!!!!

Howdy.

You know how we talked about grabbing a beer when you moved to town about two years ago?

We should still do that.
3 years, but yeah...

Of course, I've been working 80 hours per week for the last month and will be doing so for another but I could make some time. I keep meaning to take Fish up on some happy hour shenanigans too.

GM, my little sister turned 40 in the beginning of November. She's still on Kuaui with no way to contact her. They never got a phone call or anything. My Mother has been even more of a mess convincing herself that she was dead. Then my Dad got a letter from her today. Well, more of a sealed envelope really as there wasn't anything inside.

On the back was written:

I don't know......... SOS...............

7 to me is the blonde in the back row, far left with the drink-it-cute face.

Wow. I hadn't realized how much I missed GM's stories about his sister.

No offense, GB, but from everything you have said over the years she sounds like an absolutely horrible person. But what's the deal with your mom always siding with her?

Sorry you are dealing with this.

Thanks. I can't explain it, just know it's been this way all my life. For a while I thought it was me, but I have enough grounded, good friends and past women who have convinced me otherwise. Sister is an absolute mess of a person. Unemployed, drinking to excess, eating disorder, house in foreclosure, abusive boyfriend, bankruptcy, pills....and yet, she always finds their unwavering support, especially if they can paint my SO as the bad guy. My ex-wife and wife have bonded over this issue in the last year. I know Flags and I had a nasty breakup and an even nastier marriage, but she's been a tremendous person of support in all this.

I'm going drinking.

You've met me twice. At any point did you get the 'genius' vibe when you were around me?

Okay, so adjust the settings. '3' is the girl I crushed on for a long time. '7' is the gal who found fame, fortune and an NFL husband.

I'd have let her sleep in that effin' car and set up tents in the living room before I lifted a finger to bring her kids to her.
Her kids are 9 and 7. We just put their shoes on and told them their mom was in the car texting angrily to Facebook.
Wait, she was "sauced up" and she drove her kids home?
She lives two blocks away from my parents. No excuse, of course, but Ted Kennedy on his worst day couldn't screw this commute up.

Spin Doctors, more like Sit and Spin Doctors.
I would like to touch them where they pee.
I'd like to Pearl Jam...it in their butts.
I would like to smell their teen spirit on my face
I'd like to put my Candle in their Boxes.
I would like to stick my discs in their Commodore 64.
No Doubt I'd like to shove my Moby in Marcy's Playground.
I wish I could arrest their development.
Nothing here?

Huh.

Good luck man. If you can, drop what you've got going on and get the story straight

(you probably already know this, but with a kid it could be anything from "innocent" exaggeration for attention to no exaggeration at all. Good luck and keep a clear head.)
trying to keep this in perspective, but every time I think that he might have actually hit her, I just want to start removing his limbs.

At this point, I have her 7 days a week and she can't go to their house. I'm going to focus on making that work. GF has been supportive, but keeping her distance. May be too much for her.
I'd be absolutely out of control. What is your next step on getting clarity on this?

You people are really missing the point of this whole exercise. There's someone famous in that picture, and nobody's even TRYING to figure out who it is.
