So, in a strange twist of scheduling, my family is not having Thanksgiving until Friday, and I don't pick up my kids until Friday morning. Which means after the Turkey Trot early that morning, I have all of Thursday to myself.

My ideas for the day so far:

1. Sleep

2. Go help at a soup kitchen

3. Show up at Luby's Cafeteria alone and see how much shtick I can work into lunch

4. Drink heavily, watch football, and masturbate to Telemundo.

5. Some combination of the above.

That's great. My 10 year old daughter has turned into a tween nightmare. She was so out of control tonight. Also, I happened to notice ( ) that she was sending my ex- emails describing what a mean brute I am when I confiscated her iPod for acting like a rabid howler monkey. She takes after her mother like that.

My daughter's biggest complaint about being kicked out of her mom's house is that she misses her dog. Today she asked if her mom needed therapy to get her to stop lying. Exes are neat.

Great news that she at least realizes that mom's the problem here and not her (or you). Great news.

Still an overall sucky situation, but I'm glad she's got that much perspective at least.

My family is kind of blah. I'm an only child, my father was an only child. My mom's siblings live in AZ and CAL. So it's me/mrs/son/mom/grandma. Lowkey, nice to see everyone.

My wife's side of the family, her sister's family is hosting. There will probably be about 20 people there and not a person that I don't enjoy spending time with. All great people. Plus, they only live about 3 blocks away, so I'll getting shammered on my BIL's scotch and stumbling home.

Not to be humbuggy, but Thanksgiving and Christmas in my experience are not good times to volunteer at a soup kitchen. So many people do this--and lots of people make it a family event--that they really get overrun by volunteers that they don't need.
