I don't think I've posted anything of significance in that thread for two years, but haven't seen as many movies as I used to. I like the thread, though--if anything, I think mainstream movies get way too much airtime and love in it. It was helpful for me to have a few people that like smaller movies and gave some great recommendations, though. cos was one who always posted good stuff.every once in a while I'm thinking of renting/streaming/torrenting a movie and I see that recently watched movies thread and think, "I should check out that thread for some ideas."
then I remember that it's an unreadable trainwreck full of pretentious twits (sorry, Krista).

Jesus....watching Family Feud and the first Fast Money question was: 'how many drinks can you have before you know you're going to have a hangover.'
I blurted out "TEN".
Number one answer was 'Three'.![]()
Not only does my entire family think I'm the town drunk, but I was being conservative there....#rehab

It shouldn't keep surprising me but it does. Regular people just don't drink like us.
I am well aware there is poop in the mailI had a physical yesterday -- complete with the prostrate prostate exam (I'M A MAN! I'M 40!) -- and they gave me a take-home test where I have to swab two separate samples of my doo-doo and then drop it in an envelope and mail it to the lab. Are you people aware that this kind of thing goes on? Poop traveling through the USPS alongside your birthday card with a check for five dollars from your Gammy?
I'd be ecstatic for the poop to be alongside the card for once.I had a physical yesterday -- complete with the prostrate prostate exam (I'M A MAN! Nobody Likes Middle SchoolIf Jeff Foxworthy had a tailgate bus and supported the United Way he would probably sound like the guy that did this narration.

I absolutely hate wearing conundrums, but these days, its better to be safe than sorry. I heard that 80% of sexually active men will get HPV. Happy birthday.I just read the 40-page "conundrums, puzzles and logic problems" thread in one sitting. Don't do this. I broke my brain.
The question is where does scot linehan coach next year? His offense produces huge numbers for its top wr wherever he goes.Caldwell to the Lions. Will they even know the difference? Seems like their continued suckage should be seamless

You know them better than me of course, but there had to have been a little tongue-in-cheek irony going on there, right? When I was at Kraft, the company engaged in a large project meant to streamline and simplify processes. The name of this project that was all about simplification? "Decomplexification"
I think it's kind of funny as a project name. But if you started hearing everyone (even outside the project) talk about the need to "decomplexify" things it would get really stale. You know them better than me of course, but there had to have been a little tongue-in-cheek irony going on there, right? When I was at Kraft, the company engaged in a large project meant to streamline and simplify processes. Rigor? Please. For the last year and a half the buzz word in education is RIGOR.
If you ask 10 people in education what it means you'll get 11 answers.
I see what you did here.I'm not complaining about buzzwords, really. It's when people verbify a noun that bugs me.

Good opening scene for a modern re-make of "The White Shadow"I was at the drinking spot with my wife and some friends and I went to the outside seating area for some "fresh air". There were a couple of Nubian gentlemen in their 30s enjoying cigars and playing music on their iPhones. I had no idea what song/artist they were listening to...it was R&B.
I'm standing like 10 feet away and they can't really see what I'm doing. So I pull out my phone and fire up Shazam. After I get what I want I put the phone away.
"Excuse me, that sounds familiar...is that Jaheim's latest album? "
They were both surprised and impressed. Every time I went outside after that they would say "We're still playing your boy!"
I'm going to count them as my black friends from now on.
Sorry about your friend, GM. Hope you're doing okay. :(
