Timing has never been my friend in romance. Girl I went to HS with, we were never on the same page; either she was available and I wasn't, or the other way around. But we always kind of had the hots for each other, even if we never acted on it.

So, we reconnect after 20+ years on FB a couple of years ago. I tried and tried to get us together to see if anything was there. She always found reasons not to meet.

Meanwhile, I reconnect with Mata.

Today, HS Girl e-mails me wanting to come over this weekend to play. She just turned 50 and realized that sitting at home feeling sorry for herself isn't doing her any good. An "epiphany", she calls it.

I really like Mata, so I ask HS Girl if I can call because I want to a) not tell her I don't think it's right for us to see each other at this point by e-mail, and b) give her #### for not taking me up on my many offers over the last TWO ####### years.

She played it off, but I feel like a ####. There have been very few times in my life when I've had to make a choice between women. But, after all of the crap, HSG put herself out there and I feel bad that I can't respond.

just went to see my mother who has been admitted to the ICU with pneumonia and elevated whatevers that point to possible minor heart attack. Pulmonary doc wants to run a scope down her throat to check for any issues in her lungs which would require sedation. My mother freaks out over the idea of being anesthetized in fear she won't wake up. Should be a fun next few days.

So, if it's negative 5 times negative 5, the result is a POSITIVE 25. Because a negative times a negative creates a positive number.
