"I remember approaching intersections (where two dirt roads meet) in Arkansas and seeing Stop signs about 20 feet before getting there, followed by a second stop sign (the normal one in other states) at the intersection. I asked my buddy wtf that was all about, and he said it was to give the local drivers enough time to read the signs."

so my wife says ..... you know how people are gung ho over high school reunios.

me: not really

her: well i didnt like high school and am only friends with 1 girl, anyway one girl put a picture up of our graduation and is already talking about the reunion in 2015. i dont understand how they can be looking forward to it

me: me either,i dont think we had any reunion

her: we had our 10th that was it , it will be fun to go to this one.

Picked up a case of Miller Lite and a handle of vodka. Also, I've cycled back to a completely nocturnal schedule.

100% subscribe to this. However ice and snow are different.

We were in one of the rich parts of town and needless to say, I was unfamiliar with the area. Cut somebody off almost immediately trying to figure out where I was. You can imagine my relief when I found the highway I was looking for. Of course 5 miles later I realized I was going towards the city.

Thankfully the highway was in pretty good shape. Almost lost it in the subdivision though.

Love this guy, he would fit in well with this group.

Yeah, that's perfect. In the past, our Fed Ex driver (Kenny) has been a great trade partner for Ducks' tickets. I'll swap a pair of my seats to one game for a pair of his to another and that way, we each get four tickets to a single game. We'd have to split up during the game, but that's fine. We can meet up at the beer garden at halftime, etc. I'll print out the schedule and talk to him when he's in here next. Earlier in the season is more enjoyable weather wise, though in early fall, you start to get a change in foliage, which is magnificent. #phteven

Right now, I would suggest swapping out my Wyoming (Sept 13th) for his Arizona (Oct. 2). If he goes for that, then circle Oct 2 on your calendar and we can plan it from there. We won't know the time of the game until much later, but I would strongly suggest us booking hotel rooms in Eugene for that night. Avoiding the drive back to Portland is the shark move. It's a horrible drive home. But partying in Eugene after the game is a lot of fun. Plenty of cool bars, breweries, music, good food.

Then we can wake up early Sunday, drive back in daylight without scores of drunks, cops and congestion, hole up at a sports bar in Portland and watch NFL games. You guys can even look at Amtrak or Bolt Bus to avoid driving back to Seattle that afternoon.

In, in, so blessedly in. Let me know if you can make the switch and nail it down, and we'll make hotel reservations. Amtrak sounds like a great idea, too.

Testing the waters for SB I just decided to get the boys picks.

Me: So we have the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks playing. Denver has the number one offense, they score a lot of points. Seattle has the number one defense, they keep people from scoring points. Who do you think is going to win?

Dylan: (sheepisly) Seattle?

Cal: Say that again please.

Me: repeat

Cal: SEATTLE! I'm on Seattle. Everybody knows that a good defense beats a good offense. Seattle. I'm on Seattle.
