3 days on the Oregon Coast during the Lincoln City kite festival

Short jaunt through the Redwoods, Avenue of the Giants

3 days in Yosemite

3 days in Anaheim (god help me)

3 days in San Diego on the beach

long drive home

My kids are probably too young to remember and realize how spoiled they are. Too bad because there's no chance I'm doing this again.

Intrigued....

Not sure if your kids like to fish or not, but Depot Bay is a short drive south of Lincoln City. Any interest in a chartered trip for crabs, rockfish, lingcod, etc? I've done that three times and it's a lot of fun. Not overly expensive either. My kids love it. And if you like seafood (we do) you can catch some outstanding dinners on these trips. I'd be happy to meet up with you for something like this.

Also, there's a little bay near Lincoln City where you can fly kites and fish for crab off the beach. That's a hell of a good time. Dungeness Crab...

We've been to Lincoln City 3 times now - always in the winter, so excited to go in the summer. We hit the Kite Festival up in Long Beach, WA 2 summers back as well.

I'd be totally up for hooking up. Heck let me know if you want to share a house. We usually stay at the Pacific Winds condos because the views are spectacular and 2 adults/2 young kids don't warrant getting a house but I'd love to do that.

Have also stayed on Siletz Bay in Lincoln City, which is a great area for crabbing and flying kites. Good place to suck down some beers and throw the football too.

Backstory: it was done to save money as they were already over-budget, so they limited both the locations and the characters they'd have to film.

Can't decide if I should launch right into Season 4 (a bit slow in terms of work right now) or rest a bit. Or I suppose I could get to planning my move since we're leaving two weeks from tomorrow.

It's definitely artsy and surreal in a way that differs from the rest of the series, but I didn't mind it so much. It teased out Walt's obsessive personality and the way he seems to be getting unhinged.

Last night my Mom texted me asking if we were okay. I get one of these texts any time something happens in anywhere Texas. Tornado in Amarillo, flooding in San Antonio, nuclear bomb in Dallas (wishful thinking, I know), whatever as long as it happened in Texas. Never mind the fact that I could leave my house at dawn, drive all day heading west and still be in Texas.

Evidently there was ice somewhere in Texas last night. :shuked: That, or she's just now catching up on the news broadcasts from two weeks ago.

Heard earlier today that some people were let go in the Legal Dept at my last company; just found out it was six people, two of whom were in my group.

Here is the scorecard for my direct reports since I left in May:

4 people have left the company voluntarily

2 left involuntarily

1 transferred to a different group in the legal department

1 died

3 still there

Let my daughter skip school and come to work with me today. The parade went right past my building, so we went out and watched it from a courtyard about 30 feet above the street. A lot more fun than I thought it would be. People were very accommodating to let kids get a view.
