GM's thread about nothing (11 Viewers)

This Sunday is always a hard one. I have to try to remember what I usually do on Sundays without football. The good news is I have about 6 hours extra in the day (as i won't be watching football) but at the same time I miss football :-/

might have to check out some olympic stuff on demand.

Mimosas & scrapple for breakfast.

Mata & I got half-crocked and went to Wal Mart yesterday to pick up some stuff. I normally avoid that joint like the plague, but I had a couple of gift cards to use. I think we managed to offend pretty much everyone we saw between being horny, loud, and not giving a ####. I think we also bought a couple of bacon bowls on line last night after seeing a commercial on TV. I do remember buying a wok from Amazon (Wal Mart didn't have any - wtf?).
I had scrapple for breakfast as well :hifive:

love the stuff

oh I figured I give the thread a shot so OMG HI 2 EVERYONE!!!
Welcome, phrozen & Henry! Big fan of both. Welcome also, DSP, though you haven't been around long enough to have elicited a "fan" or "no fan" feeling from me.
so are you a fan of Rapa Scrapple?

I grew up on the Eastern Shore so scrapple is a staple of breakfast.

Our local Whole Foods started to carry organic Scrapple which I must say is pretty good. Rapa is a little better but I can give with the organic stuff.
Oh, HELL yes! Rapa it was. We used to make it at home, too, but I still like Rapa better.
on the Eastern Shore they have a yearly scrapple festival - it is all things scrapple since Rapa is located on the eastern shore of Delaware. Good times.

One of our cats has decided to take up the charming habit of chewing through cords. We've bought two new ethernet cords just this week, and this morning as I was watching the Olympics, POW, suddenly no TV because he had chewed through the DirecTV receiver cord.

Finding a DirecTV receiver cord on a Sunday in the South could be challenging, but after a few tries I spotted, on a list of DirecTV retailers within 50 miles of Atlanta, the name "Henry Le" and said to Mr. krista, "He'll answer." Sure enough, he picked up and claims to have what we need, though he's not in the shop address that is listed on the DirecTV site. Instead he said he would text the address and we had to be there within two hours.

Mr. krista now has cash-in-hand and is on his way to meet some guy at a house 30 miles from here to buy a receiver cord. RIP Mr. krista.
Wait, what kind of special receiver cord do you need?

I'm a beacon of health today. My breakfast consisted of Rice Crispy Treats, leftover pizza from last night, and a Klondike Bar.

So there's a running joke in my family about how my dad constantly offers me coffee even though I hate it and he knows that. Anyway my sister is back home visiting and we had this text exchange this morning:

Sis: Hey PJ, dad made a pot of coffee for you.

Me: Excellent. I hope he knows I like my coffee like I like my women...bitter and 500 miles away.

I thought that was a pretty good line. :)
Awwwww, you want affirmation!
Need.

Need affirmation.

I don't know? The cord was really unusual looking. Why?

Also, was kind of looking to start an iFight regarding my hatred of coffee.

Krista, if you haven't watched Game of Thrones or Sherlock, they should be next in your queue.

So that gmtan notebook google doc that flysack posted in the mop thread (it was deleted); What's up with that?

it's like you don't even try using the search function.

My good deed for the day:

While I actually decided to do this b/c I was tired of getting Gadzooks and Guster confused, schtick is highly encouraged

I've relocated to Manchester, UK so I can start Pt 2 of Season 5! :excited: Since I have no Olympics, might as well get going on this.

I'm with Rude. I don't think they have special cables. I haven't seen one on my DirecTV setup

Tanner posting porn links last night isn't going to help this thread survive. If something needs NSFW tags, might not want to post.
Wait. What? I was a little drunk last night. What was it?
Your RoboCop video had some porn popups or something.
Jeez...I don't remember posting anything robocop related. Sorry anyway.
Never mind. Found it. Not sure why I thought Robocop shooting guys in the cocknballs would fly.

Was wondering this myself, should only be an HDMI cble or a red, green, yellow cable

It's the AC adaptor for the receiver, not a cable.

Oh man... Last time I upgraded my DirecTV receiver the guy forgot to take the power cord from the old one. Plus I have an old receiver that they never sent the return shipping box. So I'm swimming in spare DirecTV power cords here :coffee:

:( We might need them if we don't get the chewing under control.

We did have some from other receivers, though, and they weren't the same as the one we need.

I thought it was something he did and was asking about the post. I feel like a search for "notebook" would create an infinite loop.

City shutdown in full effect. Out of beer. This could get ugly.
my co-workers in our Portland office were sending me photos of the snow. looked beautiful. I got stuck in Portland one time it snowed. GB you hippies that don't use salt on the roads. Sand to melt snow is about effective of using a blowdryer.

 I thought it was something he did and was asking about the post. I feel like a search for "notebook" would create an infinite loop.
I searched using "+google +notebook" and that was like the 3rd or 4th post that came up. Took less than 10 seconds to find it.

From what I recall, the last entries were from May 2013. It didn't really take off like TF expected I think.

I thought it was his secret thing or something given the context of the thread and post, not something that had already been public and created by somebody else for another purpose. Then when the post was deleted I assumed it was a privacy issue he was crossing a line of. Sorry if I broke etiquette.

seems like Radio Schack would have a wide assortment of AC Adapters. Bring in the one that's dead and ask the teenager there to match it up.

Boom. No more 30 mile trek to visit a strange man in the outskirts of Atlanta, GA.

there's no etiquette issue.

some of the language on the entries wasn't particularly family friendly.

it was clearly all shtick I thought.

I have no idea why he decided to post it but it wasn't a big deal.

I don't know if they'd work anyway. Apparently Henry Le had to bust open a whole home HD DVR receiver box to get us one. Or something.
