In house. I had a great hour long interview with her last week on a different position and a second interview with the manager for that spot. I am getting antsy not hearing anything and think this second position would be great as well, although unlikely to be better then the first position that I still may be in the running for.

I've never made a real effort to watch the Sopranos other than an episode here or there. I think I'm going to pick that up next. Or Game of Thrones. Or give Mad Men another run. The tepid response regarding Boardwalk Empire definitely moved it down the list.

GoT and Boardwalk Empire get better as the seasons progress. Sopranos falls off a cliff IMO...I thought the last two seasons were horrendous.

Agree on Sopranos. I actually think that much of the fondness comes from people remembering it for being better than it was. Rescue me was the same way IMO - awesome for a couple years and then meh. That said, everyone who enjoys series TV like Justified or BB or Wires should watch Sopranos from start to finish. It's very very good. But I think there are better since (Mad Men and Breaking Bad primarily; I've never seen the Wire).

I can't believe you haven't watched The Wire. Get on that! I will root you on the way you did with my watching Breaking Bad.

The Americans started off terribly. I kindly watched the next couple of episodes and it did get better. Then I figured I'd DVR the rest of the season and watch when there was nothing else on. It's pretty meh but I was mildly interested to see how it would play out.

I'd grade it at a C with a few moments sniffing at C+

Justified: I gave it a shot when it premiered. It just fell flat. The first 2-3 episodes were filled with clunky dialog and hamhanded plot points. Timothy Elephant is a pretty good actor but not good enough to make up for Walter Goggins. Goggins is like Michael Biehan's special ed half brother with a glue sniffing problem.

I'd generously grade it at a C- only because I suspect there is a chance it got better. I just didn't feel the need to see if it did.

No idea what the hell Helix is so I googled it. Pretty much lost me at "SyFy".

Never watched Hannibal. The promos looked rather schmaltzy. And do we really need more Hannibal Lecter? Haven't there been like 5 movies with Lecter in them? It reminds me of that bull#### Judy Blume pulled with "Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing". The original book was great then she realize that the real cash cow was Fudge. "Fudge-a-Mania", "SuperFudge", "DoubleFudge", "Fudge-a-Palooza", "Fifty Shades of Fudge". Enough.

Just tried doing a shot video of me reading this post in a cranky voice but I kept cracking up.

The storyline is all but played out and they have taken some of the characters on very weird arcs. It's entertaining, but not OMG this is legendary tv.

It's not better than breaking bad, the wire, or thrones. Its different though entirely. I still watch the sopranos when its on, but it doesn't really hold up that well for me, and I'm Italian and obsessively watch mafia/crime movies.

The recruiter has a vested interest in placing you, correct? He gets paid on it? If you're really interested in the position, I don't think it would hurt to contact the recruiter to basically tell him that if he wants to throw your hat in the ring for position #2, he's doubling his odds that you'll pay off.

Disclaimer: I don't know anything about job hunting and recruiters and protocols and what's proper and what's tacky.

I know you're fond of your contrarian stance, and was also nonplussed by the first few episodes of Justified, but it took a little while to find its legs and get the tone right. Its now a typical Leonard celebration of white trash, sleaze and some Detroit bad guys. Pretty irresistible imo.

I celebrate the entire whiskey and bourbon catalog but woodford reserve is not too expensive and is very smooth.
