GM's thread about nothing (17 Viewers)

New car recommendations? Thinking going with another Accord. Put about 110k miles on that and never had any big problems. It's 7 years old and blue book is still about 8k.

I can't remember how insurance handled the last car I had totaled (not my fault, #####), so not sure how they calculate value.
I keep saying I want a new car, I have a 10 year old Accord with 145K on it and so far so good, :kissofdeath:

14 years and 210k here. Now I'm just curious how far this thing can go.

I am glad you are okay. And I am hopeful that they write "slid on black ice" on the report and you are forced to sign it.
:goodposting:

Abe, what's the deal with Litton's? Just ate there for the first time and couldn't even finish my "world famous" burger. It was packed, too. Did I order wrong? What am I missing? Been wanting to go there for 2 years and am wholly disappointed.

Great work, DG. I bet that family drinks a lot of toasts to you for a long time. Lawyers like you are few and far between, and are what this profession should be all about.

You guys remember my brother's son Lukas who was born at some ridiculously early gestational age in Denver even though they live in Minnesota and so they were stranded out there for three months and he had a scary brain bleed at one point? Well his head size is measuring off the charts and the doctors were worrying that he might have whatever that is that makes your brain too big for your skull or whatever something really scary as a result of that brain bleed. He had an MRI yesterday and the results are back and he's healthy just has a giant melon (he could be the thread mascot, apparently). So whew.
That's great to hear, GB
Yeah that's the best part is I can make all those jokes now.

Baloney Sandwich trying to claim my title as worst user of board technology? He just started the same thread SEVEN ####### TIMES>

Burgers are hit and miss for some reason. The desserts are fantastic though.

Twin Cities Guys, what's the neighborhood like in St Paul near Lake Phalen? Just east of 35E and south of Laroenteur, about 1 mike south of Hwy 36?

There's a neat house overlooking the lake there. We would like to move to the burbs but with the lot size we are considering it.

Anybody gonna be around drinking tonight or is everyone going to be busy eating fancy food and doing kinky sex stuff?
My agenda:

6) Texting actual **** pics to Tanner

8) Freeze pops and then bed
6. I changed my number. Send **** pics to Shuke and he can forward them.

8. What's your opinion on these things?
Frosty's wife has a new hobby?
Still sticking with crochet, though as far as I know she doesn't do dickscarves.
But dickmittens are Oktoberfest?

Get back to the seats and there is the most unbelievable creature scarping ice. Oh good god. Just perfect. The girls were laughing at us because we were in a trance. That's when the 50/50 girl came by. She was wearing yoga pants too. Give me twenty bucks worth I say. BFF pulls a $20 out and says me too. I tell him we're cool, we'll split it. Ended up 47 numbers away from winning $26K. If I would have let him buy those tickets, very good chance we would have won.
i have no idea what any of this even means.

tpw bob/shukie's car and anyone else who needs it.

There was a hot chick giving rim#### and they gave $20 to a tranny in yoga pants. That's the best I can come up with so far.

I want a #### scarf knitted by frostywife.
My wife has "ordered" a hat twice. Maybe next year. :kicksrock:
She can have mine if she'd like. It's pretty but, as I suspected, doesn't fit my giant noggin.
Is it too tight around or not long enough to cover your ears or both? If you measure your head circumference right above the eyebrows she'll make you a replacement.
Too tight around, but I'm too embarrassed to give you my size. I figured I would give it to my Mom. She'll like it and doesn't have an unreasonably large head.

Condolences on your losses, GBSLB.

Damn, shuke. Glad you guys are oktoberfest, though - that sheet metal can be replaced.

So, in my half-assed attempt to cut the cable/sat cord I've been accumulating devices (Roku, Chromecast, etc...). I've had to jury-rig them so far as the components I have don't mix-and-match well. Someone in the "cut the cord" thread here directed me to an A/V receiver that should meet my needs (mainly, enough HDMI ports) and I got it the other day. Trying to reroute everything is always a challenge for me in the best of circumstances. I plan on taking on this monumental task tomorrow (later today, I guess). However, I have already noticed an issue - the subwoofer I have just has regular speaker wire hard-connected with the two stripped ends to feed into the receiver. This new receiver uses the male/female A/V cable for the subwoofer (rest of the speakers connect with stripped wire-into-clips).

I suppose there's an adapter I can get, or do I need a new subwoofer with the matching connection?
Might want to post this in the "cut the cable" thread...you're dealing with the likes of GM and company in here.
I've got this... what model sub do you have? Even if it has the posts for bare wire, typically they also have a single RCA jack. If so, that's what you would want to plug into the receiver. The subwoofer signal is mono, so there is only the one line running to it
Does this mean anything?Samsung PS-DW0-1
I would try something like this
Oh, sweet baby jeebus - that's what I need. Thank you!
N/M Guster got it
Not to step on anyone here but it appears that Uruk's sub is not powered. This will prove to be a problem with the cable Guster linked as the receiver sends a line level (ie non amplified signal) to the sub and requires the sub to be powered. What receiver do you have Uruk?

Uruk, do you plug your sub into a wall outlet as well?

ETA To add details.

50/50 is a raffle where half the money collected goes to the winner and half goes to charity. They typically offer these at hockey games. Didn't realize it wasn't offered everywhere.

Mine's 10 years old at 120k and never any major service. Just followed the book

This. They had little printers that spit the numbers out so they were all sequential.

That broad was silly hot too. You couldn't make one better if you had bras on your head.

Congrats, DocGonzo!

Any Atlantans know why I saw thousands of people running outside in their underwear about an hour ago?
 -http://www.cupidsundierun.com/city/atlanta/
"Freezing never felt so good."Hope the people running this in Austin can deal with the 70 degree weather this afternoon.
Aren't you running tomorrow? If so, TPW.
Thanks GB Kev. Trying to decide how bad of an idea it would be do to a shot video on my way out the door at 5:15 a.m. tomorrow. Can't imagine that it would be a good one.

I'm really looking forward to it. Hope to break 1:50 for the first time.

Watching Unforgiven on AMC. I love this movie.

GB just called because he hasn't heard from me in awhile. I've shut everything off, not just you fine people. I'm sorry about that. No need to worry.

He offered to bring beer over and drink with me. Looks like my day is full.

Not that commie Miller Lite #### though I hope.

Bachelor weekend is off to a good start. I've been in bed all day and have almost finished House of Cards. Just cracked my second beer. Have to go pay a bill before 5, grab some more beer, and make a decision about eating. Can't decide whether to buy a big steak to cook later or just go to Twin Peaks.

They should do it EVERYWHERE. I would love to hit Rite Aid for some butter and buy 50/50's.
I know when the Flyers started doing it a couple years back it was awesome. IT was always a local league, fundraiser thing but never on that large a scale.

I go to games now to just play

Too bad you didn't decide on Twin Peaks yesterday. It was Lingerie day yesterday.
