GM's thread about nothing (27 Viewers)

My wife is freaking out a bit. She's had a bad cold the last few days and is not taking anything due to the pregnancy. Well last night she took a 30min very hot shower to try to relieve sinus pressure. She also for some unknown reason did 50 squats while in the shower. So she got her heart rate up while in hot water/steam. Apparently that is bad for baby, although it's more of a first trimester thing, and she's into week 24 now. So she's all upset with herself. The baby was kicking last night afterwards though, so it should be all good.
Neti Pot. Life saver for me. Haven't taken an allergy pill in over 5 years. Seriously, if she hasn't tried it and is struggling with sinus pressure, this thing is a godsend.
Plus, free brain parasites.
As if that will somehow negatively impact my cognitive functionality.

Death? Nah.

There's been days of allergy suffering whereupon death would have been most welcome, even encouraged. No longer, thanks to the little pot from Neti. Wherever that is.

Seriously, though, only use distilled water. And boil the hell out of the pot between uses.
Far as I can tell there have been exactly 2 deaths from this brain eating disease, both in Louisiana where the water came from a tankless heater or some such. I assure you, I'm not concerned.

I'm assuming now that there were THREE deaths yesterday in Seattle because of mud that are you avoiding all dark soils of various moisture levels?

I can't commit just yet, stryker. But I can pay you for a couple of tickets whether I can make it or not so you're not stuck holding the bag. Shoot me your PP info, and I'll do it today.

Mata made Shepherd's Pie last night. I had never had that before, but damn it was good.
Thats not necessary GB. I shouldn't have a problem unloading any unused tickets.

Where are we staying? Arriving which day? Departing when?
Hotel post link

You're welcome to come and go as you please. Sounds like Bob is in Friday-Sunday

I don't know if you've been to Louisiana, but our mud has nowhere to slide.

Is it a good example or a bad example when your boys wake up and there are extra women in the house? Good example? I agree.
So do you live an AZ Ron lifestyle with chicks blowing enema juice all over you in the shower or do you live the dream in your mind like the rest of us

Remember my notebook sucks.
Mostly dream.
They mostly come at night. Mostly.
Mrs. SLB gets drunk and likes women coming on to me. I can't explain it but she needs to be drunk a lot more.
:kicksrock:

My wife likes the fact that all of my exes now swing the other way.

I'm pretty sure that she's plotting and schemeing the conversion as I type.
As Isaiah Thomas is to the management of basketball franchises, you are to heterosexuality. What on earth have you done to those poor women?
Here's my assessment on the situation

I am honestly the proverbial 'nice guy' boyfriend. Raised by women (mother / grandmother) for the first 10 years of my life probably did that to me.

I don't beat, I don't yell and scream, I don't stray. I'm the Anti MOP

Each of these girlfriends went on to date other guys, after me, before going through their 'change'. Odds are those guys were douchebags, so I blame them.

I've actually spent a lot of time there. I've partied on houseboats in the Bayous around Monroe, had my very first crawbish boil in Alexandria, bet my very first horse race in Bosier City, shaved several years off my life in New Orleans and Baton Rouge and even once peed in Tickfaw. I've spent just enough time to know the drinking water is perhaps a little different than the source of water here in Oregon, which comes from Bull Run, one of the cleanest sources of water in the US.

Well, if you've peed in Tickfaw you no doubt know that the entire state has about one hill.

Course all that said, I never once turned down a frozen daiquiri for fear it might have Louisiana water.

It's man-made, in a zoo, and monkeys live on it.I don't know if that makes it more or less likely that you peed on it.

That drive across the northern part of the state on I-20 is perhaps the flattest drive I've ever made anywhere. At times, I felt like setting the car on cruise and nodding off for an hour or two. You know it's a flat easy drive when you can roll a joint while driving.

I bought a $200 pair of New Balance running shoes. I hate running. Maybe it'll make me run. Or maybe it'll just be more comfortable walking around on the weekends than these terrible Nike Free things that leave my ankles and feet aching at the end of the day on a Saturday because they're super cool "barefoot running" shoes, which is so ####### nerdy. I've always wanted a nice pair of New Balance, never owned one. Pretty stoked for these.

Anybody wanna go for a run w/me? TIA
lady raiders got me a sweet pair of asics running shoes for Xmas. I haven't even tried them on.....
Every pair of Asics I've ever bought hurt my feet. You're better off leaving them in the box.
Speaking of leaving them in the box, my newborn is 10lbs of pure scream machine today. Kill me.

Good to go. Do you know how to set up a table?
yes
Wait what? We can play poker again?
Play money, then pay each other via paypal following the game.

Sorry about your ducks.
Gotcha. Sounds like fun. Im in for this next time.

Meh...Ducks basketball does little for me. I couldn't name 1 player on this team before the tournament started. Not a style of play I care for.

Nice bracket in Frost's contest.
if you ever see that choad that got the meaningless technical with .6 seconds left; give him a big eff you from me.

Thx GB
You had Ducks +5.5 too, huh? That was brutal.
+6, but just as brutal

I have to take Dylan to a birthday party in about 40 because Mrs. SLB has a baby shower to attend. I offered him the kid's present if we could stay home.
:lmao:

Thinking maybe I should start using distilled water rather than Dallas tap water in the Neti pot. Never really thought about that. :oldunsure:

Louisiana talk: Any of you ever been to the Angola State Prison Rodeo? A friend posted something about it on FB, I'm intrigued.

I grew up going to the Texas prison rodeo. It was awesome even as a 7 year old. They had one event where they took a lunch sack and put $100 in it (which would be like 500 now I guess). They would tie the bag between the horns of a bull and let fifty prisoners in to the arena. Whoever got the bag got the money for smokes and whatever at the commissary. No way you could do tha now.

Went out with Miss tonight and the place we went to had an "unofficial RPS" tournament tonight. I thought it would be fun for us to enter. $10/entry and off we went.

Blah blah blah...

I won the damned thing. Over 500 in and I walked with $3500. Miss lost in the 2nd round.

It looks like I'm finally good at something.
What's RPS?
Rock, Paper, Scissors.
:lmao: no way. That's incredible.
lolat baseball camp we had some serious rps tourneys.

We had a ref... 2 timeouts first to 10 rapid fire.

it was intense :lmao:

I was too lazy to make a proper lunch so I opened and rinsed (in the can) a 15 oz can of garbanzo beans and then poured my favorite salad dressing on top of them and ate them with a spoon out of the can.

Slap it high?

First helicopters falling from the sky, now fatal mudslides?

Is it time for the 'Ficticious Tragedies the Kristas Brought to Washington State' thread?
Yeah, um, sorry 'bout that, guys.

We were actually planning to hike this morning in the area where the mudslides occurred. Seeing the news last night we switched to a different hike. Got there this morning to find that the trail was closed due to a landslide. :oldunsure:

it's 10 times more awesome than you think it is. I do hear they're going to stop the poker game though.

My mom has been. Funniest thing I remember her telling me about was they had Mexican midgets with sombreros that had chips and salsa in them and they,d walk around and serve people out of the hats. She also talked about the wolves they breed there for "guard dogs." Real wolves.

Definitely need to take a road trip, this place sounds amazing. :lmao:

Fall prison cornhole?! :excited:
