GM's thread about nothing (34 Viewers)

I'm probably going to be in Pittsburgh next week of anyone wants to grab a beer or twelve.
Where will you be staying?
Not certain yet. Business is out in Duquesne/McKeesport area but I'm going to look into staying closer to Pittsburg proper as I really only have to be out there for a few hours.
Pack your Kevlar.
Yeah, stay either in downtown or in Monroeville (closest areas to get to Duquesne/McKeesport) That's not a great area.

I live in Washington, PA about 25-30 miles southwest of downtown and work in Robinson Twp near the airport

I love those moments when I'm out with my son at the supermarket, for example, and he's screwing around and not paying attention to other people and gets in an adult's way, which causes me to say, "Say, excuse me",... causing the adult to say, "Excuse me."

I will let him give details. :coffee:

Oat - you up with the terrorist?
I am GB. Quite a mess here these days. She's been throwing up for four days and losing weight, and that's a little scary for an 8 week old. Mrs. O is completely losing her ####, wheels are coming off. Had an ultrasound yesterday and ruled out a serious issue, so that was good, but she threw up both her feedings last night. Beginning to feel like this is over our doctors' heads and we need a specialist.

We haven't had a decent night of sleep in a while, I've taken a few days from work just to be around and help out. Quite a mess. Hoping for better things today.

THANKS OATSY

That sucks dude. Lukey had relatively serious stomach issues (though not quite throwing up every meal bad) when he was 2 - 3 months old. We ended up going to a pediatric gastroente...a stomach doctor. That's where we found relief. Turned out to be just severe reflux that we could treat with a prescription medication. We had some friends that went through something similar to your situation and also went to the same doctor for help. Their solution was the same medication that they had to give in tiny doseson a frequent basis so that their daughter could keep it down. Process sucked, but it was way better than what was going on.

Abe - guess I missed my lunch invite.

Sorry Otis, I can't imagine. Do you have friends/parents who can take your older kid for a few days while you guys work through this with the little one?

I fell alseep on the couch watching the penultimate episode of the Sopranos last night. Apparently I don't find season 6 as interesting as previous seasons.

Exactly what we're asking for today, to try and see a specialist. She was on zantac for a while but it didn't seem to be working much. And that was just spitting up/reflux. The past few days have been stomach-emptying throwing up, and it just feels like something different. It's weird because up until last night it wasn't happening regularly -- once or twice a day at most. She was losing weight at that rate, so missing all overnight feedings like last night has to be even moreso. She's kept down two bottles this morning so far, but #### is still scary. Heading in to see a doctor in an hour. We'll see.

I took my toddler to Burger King this morning. I'm emotional eating. The French Toast Sticks are to die for.

I don't even have kids yet and I'm falling asleep every time I try to watch something after 11pm now. Wtf, I'm being domesticated.

11pm on a weekday has been "late" for about the last 15 years for me. "OMG it's 10 o'clock what am I doing up?!!!"

Welcome to hell.

Getting old, dude. Having kids just accelerates it. Had this discussion with PR chick yesterday.

My brother's first kid had these symptoms. The weeks of crying were from bloating and gas. Kid was allergic to milk in a serious way. Including his mother's, which is apparently unbelievably rare. Breastfeeding or formula?

It was a very nice evening and the end of date I bring her home and as we pull up to the house she says "I probably shouldn't have you come inside" to which I said "is it because my taxes pay your salary so it may seem like prostitution?" She said "uh no, because it's late and its a school night, so you'll have to wait for our next date to clap my erasers". So there was just a little fooling around in the car and then I went home and sharpened my own pencil.
She didn't really say that, did she?
She did. And I assuming it was sexual innuendo and I'm not literally going to be clapping the actual erasers from her chalkboard. Fingers crossed.
Did you have the "prostitution" line prepared, or was it off the cuff?
Sorta both. A buddy told me before I went out that I banged her for 5 awkward minutes made sweet love to her, I was technically banging a hooker since my taxes pay her salary and I would be paying for dinner.

Also, besides being a teacher like Tanner, she also loves cats. I may start calling her Lambchop.

Thorps dude. Ones child being sick is one of the worst feelings ever. May you never experience the roto virus. :X . Violent expulsions from both ends, mostly the lower for days. It was impossible to fathom where it could possibly be coming from.

One Fbgs advice to me was, "get a tarp". We needed it and the smell? Holy jeebus!!

Vacation planning in the works. :excited:

Suck it, #######.
JFC, I only mentioned going there; I didn't even go there yet! Sorry about the avalanche, guys.
Do you think if you went into an area experiencing a disaster it would get worse, or you'd cancel it out and everything would go back to normal?
Well, think about it - planning a vacation to Assumption Parish could either make you a hero or cause the largest explosion in the history of the world. So, it's worth considering.

This one actually has me a little freaked out. I spent about four hours last night researching the best tours to get up to Mount Everest Base Camp. The timing is eerie.
