GM's thread about nothing (20 Viewers)

I'm about to post my first thing in those Facebook garage sale groups. They seem pretty regulated and I like the fact that there are real names involved, which sounds weird at first but it really eliminates the troll aspect
My wife does this. She's sold a lot of stuff. It works pretty well.

Of course she's also bought a lot of crap too...

Wife went to buy a car today. Ended up buying a different one than the one we discussed, so I wasn't able to do any research. I just found the same model, 5 years newer, with 10k fewer miles, for $3k less. :wall:

are we friends on the Facebook? Cause I'd love to see what you do. I need to sell an antique stove and was recommended to try that. But I hate facebook
You need to search for [your city] garage sale group on fb. The first post should have a detailed instructions on the rules. Scroll through some if the pages and see what's there.

Four kids sounds like a ####### nightmare.
My cousin once told me the following. "One kid is great. A lot of work but very rewarding. Two kids? That's like having 3 kids. Common sense would tell you all the work should double, but it doesn't. It triples. 3 kids? That's like having 5 kids. It's nonstop work. You start drinking more and figuring out reasons to work more. Anything after 3 kids and you should kill yourself."
I have 3 kids. The oldest is 5

Everything Bobs cousin says is spot on

This blows my mind. How does this ever happen?
My wife is very, very good at many things. Apparently, making 5 figure decisions is not one of them
You really have to return the car ...immediately if not sooner. She is gonna haaaaaattttttteeeee you for a while.

My wife would never even consider buying a car without a lot of help from me. You need to control your woman better, yo.

:goodposting: What Guster and Binky said.

What car dealers just let you return a car?

"Oh hey, your wife signed a legally binding contract that you don't like so you put her back in the kitchen where she belongs and want me to take the car back? Sure, no problem, you know us car dealers are all such a generous and upstanding bunch, why wouldn't we do that?"

He has three kids and is 1 of 7 himself. He's a wise man.

You have 72 hours in Missouri to change your mind.

I believe you have three days in Texas, and we're not especially consumer-friendly.

I'm trying to figure out how to write down what I've done at work since mid-last week, which consists of reading three emails and writing two. I get paid the same either way, but that's kind of embarrassing. HI OTIS!!!

Oh, Otis, I'd have to count them up for a specific figure but would estimate I've been to more than 40 countries in the last five years. :stirspot:
Sigh.

I had to send my wife away during the garage sale. She'd have ended up paying them to take our ####.

She would never ever undertake any sort of negotiating or make a large purchase without me. Hell, it makes her crazy nervous and uncomfortable when I start chiseling someone.
