Should be an interesting day at work tomorrow. I'm going to start it by telling someone that I don't want to be the vice president of the Austin region followed up by trying to convince an investigative reporter not to run a story (which is going to fail miserably) and then spending the afternoon playing golf with one of our biggest business partners. I'm terrible at golf but apparently the guy is a big enough drinker that I'm the only person in the company that stands a chance of staying upright through 18 holes with him. Going straight from there to a preschool graduation for JR (*gag*) which may be a challenge.

Glad you asked, Abe.

First, I wouldn't love it. It would take me out of advertising/marketing/PR and more into general management. Second, there's a sales production expectation and I have a suspicion that we've about reached our maximum capacity there as a company. The only way that's going to change is if we manage to convince the legislature to do something, and if that happens I can write my own ticket from the position I'm in right now. Third, the time commitment would keep me away from some things that could lead to huge success outside of my current industry.

It has been my experience that being the VP of anything carries with it a lot of blame and very little glory. It's also often a more politically heavy position in the company but as often lacks the job specificity to actually fix the problems you are being blamed for.
