GM's thread about nothing (24 Viewers)

Uni, did you go to Nick Cave at Bonnaroo? Someone I know who runs sound for rock shows--in other words, his entire job is to watch concerts--said it was the best show he had ever seen, bar none.

I did not. I would've liked to. Weird job of scheduling with that one. They put him up against Flaming Lips, Frank Ocean, and Skrillex all at the same time.

I walked past his show on the way to Frank Ocean after Jack White ran late. Was basically empty which was crazy to see. I heard he joked that he had to hurry and finish his set so he could see the rest of Skrillex. :lmao:

Bummer. I would have had a hard time bypassing a Flaming Lips show with those options, though I've seen them a bunch of times and haven't seen him before so likely would have gone that way. I don't even know who Skrillex is. :bag:

:lmao: Skrillex is the EDM guy who sounds like a teenage girl. Sadly one of the most popular acts this year. I think he's headlining Lolla.

His #### was so loud that it was kind of drowning out Frank Ocean, so luckily I was able to bail and meet up with Steve Tasker to catch a few Flaming Lips songs. Was pretty awesome but Pete started going on and on about how everyone we knew someday would die. :lmao: Such a depressing song.

We need to do a GMTAN Bonnaroo cornhole.

:lmao: I think Do You Realize is one of most people's favorite Flaming Lips songs but it just doesn't do it so much for me. But that is hilarious.

A GMTAN Bonnaroo cornhole would be insane, in a ####### great way.

Morning folks...gonna do a 7.5 mile light hike this morning followed by some lunch and people watching. Then it's off to Boulder tomorrow. Compass free btw.

Since he was mentioned upthread; Nick Cave is the mother of awesome.

I just wanted everyone to know that.

You may continue with your normal daily activities now.

Just caught my 2 year old "drawing" on our minivan with a rock :wall:
Caught mine after a four foot line was drawn. At least it was the old car
2 nice sized squiggles on the lift gate and a line along the entire passenger side and down the front fascia

Just leased it in January...hopefully it can be buffed out but if not I'll just deal with it when we turn it in in 2 years
kind of a side note....i have a 2003 Honda with 125k miles on it. No problems with it at all, mechanic said i can probably get to 200k with no problems (and I literally only drive 10 miles round trip every day), it should last another 10 years....

Anyway, I think i want to get a paint job for it as it's got normal wear and tear that you would expect out of a 10 year old car....any idea how much this would run?

GDAMIT!!! Just had a molar break. Awesome. Now I get to go to the dentist. Yay! Getting older is awesome.
the ####? how does this happen? #terrified
This happened to me while I was eating a banana. A BANANA.

And my dad was a dentist... but had just passed away. The broken molar (which was an easy fix in my case, btw), turned into all kinds of more than a broken molar for me.

Yeah I had molar that was "resorpting" itself (basically eating itself from the inside out). Oral surgeon said that they don't really know why it happens, but think one of the causes is some type of trauma to the tooth (thanks, son).

JFC. There's a cafe near my office with free WiFi and good food, so some mornings I stop in and log on before going into the office.

This morning I got out of my car, locked the doors, and gave the car key a little toss in the air. I don't know why I do it, but it's a habit I've developed. A stupid, stupid habit. As the key reached my hand, my foot hit a crack in the blacktop, causing me to stumble just a little bit. Enough that I had to recover to catch the ####### key. My hand came up, hit the key, and did NOT wrap around it. Instead the key hit the palm of my hand and shot back up into the air, about 3 feet in front of me, and into the back seat of the convertible BMW parked in front of me.

SONOFA#####. So I looked into the convertible, and I could actually see the key. I wasn't sure I could reach it, though. What the hell was I supposed to do here? Just reach in and try to grab it? Walk into the restaurant and start asking around to see who owns the BMW?

I said, "#### it," and reached in. So I'm leaned over the door, hanging into a car I don't own, with my laptop bag strapped over my shoulder, and just as I reached the key, this 40 or 50-something guy came out of the restaurant. I've seen him before. He's here often. I'm guessing he's seen me, too. But never hanging out of... his car.

"What the hell are you doing to my car?"

"I... uh, eh, er, um..."

At this point he burst out laughing. "I'm just screwing with you. I was sitting at the window and saw the whole thing." :lmao:

###hole.
