GM's thread about nothing (26 Viewers)

Taking off tomorrow for a 3+ week RV trip to Badlands, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, and other bits of the mountain west. Packing for a 70F temperature range is interesting.

Hoping for occasional good cell service so I don't need a 3-week BobbySac update.

I will give you $3 American if you post a video from the Grand Canyon of you yelling out "Bobby! Cindy!"

New avatar thanks to Tanner.

Well, despite my starting the day with a stomach bug :X , we made it to Navaho Peak, gaining 4300 feet in elevation and hiking 15 miles. About 2500' of the elevation was packed into two miles of trudging through scree on a 60-degree incline and trying not to catapult off the mountain.

I'm particularly proud of Mr. krista, who about 1/4 of the way from the pass to the peak said he was giving in and going back to the pass. I asked if he'd mind if I went ahead alone, which he said was fine. A little while later, I stopped to take a drink of water, heard someone coming up and decided to wait and let them pass. There was Mr. krista, who said when I was going myself he felt like a #####. We both made it to the top.

Best part was after we went back to the hotel and cleaned up a little and then decided to go for some food. It was 3 p.m. and between the two of us we'd had one apple all day. Decided on a spot about two blocks away, and when we left the room I started heading down the street when I heard him say, "No, I'm not ####### walking there. I'm not ####### insane. Are you ####### insane?"

You can tell this is the Grand Canyon because of the way it is.

#1 That avatar is pretty neat.

#2 D'Vonne is a trooper. I would have sat on my fat ### and waited for you to come back down.

#3 I would have ordered 2-3 pizzas delivered and tipped the driver in pine cones.

Honest to Gollum I don't think I've ever seen a tick in real life. 99% they don't exist around here. Pretty sure the microwave-like heat makes them explode like a baked potato with no holes poke in it (up yours, Shuke).

I forgot to say "pretty neat" again!

When we got back down to the trailhead, there was a guy walking around eating a slice of pizza. It might be as close to murdering someone as I've ever come.

This kid needs a name. Soon. ####.
My daughter didn't have a name until 3-4 hours after she was born.

I only had boys names picked out :bag:
Charlie didn't have a name for about an hour. But it was probably one of the best times my wife and I have had. Her mom was there but left us to mull it over and we hugged and passed him back and forth. She asked him "Do you like the name Charles Robert?" and he stopped crying.

It'll come to you.

Outside of full on woodchipping all those folks in the mudslides, volcano eruptions, earthquakes and super flu epidemics?

(That was sort of mean. I'm not a very person sometimes. I feel bad and apologize.)

Here are two weird coincidences the second of which I probably shouldn't have told my wife;

Joe DiMaggio and I share the same birthday. The day the c section is currently scheduled (july 16) was game 56 of the streak.

JFK jr shares my bday. He died on July 16. His magazine was George.

My mom's birthday is July 16, and if I'd been a boy I was to be named Stephen.

In order to prevent catastrophes like my wife giving away my last beer, I need to stock a basic beer for guests other than my beer snobby beer that will be for me and more distinguished visitors.

Not that I am really a beer snob, as I don't know much about them or drink often. I just like to occasionally try different things (mostly stouts and porters). What would be something decent to just have on hand for people in general other than like coors/miller lite type swill?

Heineken? Sam Adams?
I recently rediscovered Gennesee Cream Ale

So it turns out that the Ukrainian dream has Lyme Disease, which has been causing all her muscle/joint pains. It wasn't the mattress(es) after all.

Hope she handles it better than Irene on Real World Seattle.
What happened there? They are putting her on heavy duty antibiotics for a couple weeks.
My brother has been going through this for past couple years. He is getting better but it hasn't been pretty. Best of luck.
