GM's thread about nothing (39 Viewers)

Had a friend a long time ago who used to write those little poems and send them into Press Your Luck (whammies). She had at least 3 or 4 of them read by the host. I thought she was pretty cool.

I also sat next to Larry Wilcox (John from CHiPS) on a plane from Dallas completely hammered and telling lots of stories about Eric Estrada and the off camera adventures he had.

Don't really know a lot of famous people really. I know these guys: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Movie in this documentary. They are totally bat#### crazy.

Man, you and I share a brain. LOVED her. Best thing about the movie Anaconda.
the wife's best friend is an actress... came into town recently for some kind of fan-appreciation convention/thing and flew in and roomed with Kari. she drinks a little bit.
I could enjoy a few Kari stories. Go on...
wife met them for breakfast one day at the hotel before the fan stuff. she wandered in still drunk from the night before. I guess she had been sober for a long while previous to this trip and fell off hte wagon in a big way.

also apparently very me-me-me actress type. wife and the other actress are best friends and hadn't seen eachother in almost a year- Kari wouldn't let them alone to chat and genuinely catch up. even walking down the street, apparently.

then the three of them came over to our place and made sweet, sweet love to me.

I might have misremembered one of those things.
It was nice of her to let your wife and her friend genuinely catch up.

nothing but disingenuous catch-ups up in there.

:whoosh:

We're hiking the Kendall Katwalk tomorrow, a long (14.4 mile) but not terribly difficult (2900 ft elevation) hike. I am :excited: :excited: :excited: , though, because it looks like this. Not for the fear-of-heights type.

Drifter, have you figured out if you have to have surgery? Eager to get you out on one of these hikes sometime. BTW, you also owe us all a trip report on the Griswold vacation.
Interesting turn of events. On vacation I wore nothing but Sanuks. Walked a fair amount with no problem. Upon returning, I've worn my Sanuks to work for the last two weeks. I also started doing some light running last week. No problems.

Either the barefoot aspect of the Sanuks is creating the right muscle balance I need so that my overdeveloped (according to my doctors) calves don't pull my tendons off the bone, or the problem has been more with irritation to the Mt. Baker sized bone spur on my heel.

Either way, I'm feeling pretty good about things and am ready to hike any time. Would love to do a 1 or 2 night backpack trip as well. Mrs. Drifter however does not backpack and is terrified of heights so likely you just get me (not that I could run out and do 14 miles and 3000 ft. - you've turned into a maniac).
Excellent! I'm glad to hear it's better.

It appears that I nearly killed Mr. krista on today's hike, but I hope he'll recover. Just name the date you can go and either a hike you'd like to do or some parameters of what you're looking for so I can make suggestions. We're totally free in August. We'd love to do an overnight, too, but can't until late September at earliest--don't know if it will be too cold then but if not that would be great. You'd likely know a lot more about what you're doing than we would.

Speaking of August, don't we have a zoo concert coming up, too?
Thanks for reminding me. Concert is next Wednesday the 6th at 5 PM.

Also, Guster is coming to town that week and it looks like he might have the evening of the 8th open for potential cornholing (which also happens to be my birthday, but this is secondary - I'm old and a man so I don't really celebrate brithdays). He's looking for something potentially young daughter friendly. Does OH want to sacrifice a pig?

If not, I might do some kind of BBQ type thing or open to any other ideas.

Go to GameWorks and give gusterdaughter a $50 card to keep her occupied. Full bar for adults.

 on concert. Was this one of those things where we bring food/booze, blankets, all that? Let me know what we should bring. Is anyone else coming with us?

Good chance we can't make it out on Aug 8, so you guys go ahead with your plans and we'll join if we can, but we shouldn't be counted on. We do need to do that big dinner, though. Would need to be after Sept. 21.

So I was excused from jury duty today. They settle on the jurors and I didn't even get close to the box (sounds like the last date-night with my wife!)

I just googled the defendant's name and read up on his case. He was up for 1 count of murder and 2 counts of attempted murder...all 3 on separate dates. There were 2 other people charged along with this guy in the murder case. One plead guilty to first degree murder and the other was found guilty of the same about 2 weeks ago. Glad I was a good citizen and didn't look it up while I was still in the jury pool.

Oddly enough the murder took place on MLK boulevard. Go figure.

My 15 year old is working for our company this summer, and I took all the interns out to lunch today. I told them we could go anywhere. They chose Buffalo Wild Wings Times Square.

I think I'm going to short BWLD.
lol. kids do the darnedesting things.

how're the wings?
Worst. Food. Ever.

On the plus side, that was one of the least expensive business lunches of the year.
Hint: Most people don't go to BWW for the food.

Nothing? I get shot down by Olivia d'abo to go to prom and I get nothing? F you guys. It still stings all these years later. :sadbanana:
I didn't go to the prom with Nichole Kidman, Mira Sorvino, Tia Carrere, Kate Walsh, Pamela Anderson, Maria Bello, or Gillian Anderson.
because you didn't want to get nailed for statutory rape? wouldn't dame hellen mirren be more in your age bracket?

what do they go for? around here the waitresses and the beer list are both pretty unimpressive.

doesn't Mrs Tanner run a BW3 now or something?

I have limited experiences with them, but the quality seems to vary quite a bit from location to location. I've had good wings and big cheap beers at them while watching football. Better than hooters food anyway.

50+ TVs, Kylie.

This is the first I've ever heard of BWW.

it's a thing?
they dropped the 3rd W. jerks.
I still say BW3, no more weck? Is that foe paws?
yeah, they switched it to Buffalo Wild Wings

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo_Wild_Wings

:lmao: at this:

In January 2013, Buffalo Wild Wings came under fire for its position of not allowing firearms on the property of company-owned stores and has led to numerous boycotts nationwide.

Gun people are lunatics. Seriously.
