GM's thread about nothing (51 Viewers)

I am in St. Pete this morning for an interview for a job I don't expect to get. At least it gets me out if the house for a little while :shrug:

ETA: Went surprisingly well. I think I may have a shot :excited:

I've been bad at the internet. Haven't checked in here for a while. Good to see things haven't changed in the last month.

:teammelon:

The first 19 minutes of the news last night consisted of variations of, "Hey, look, it's raining." I really ####ing hate this state.

JFC. I just found out that a good friend of ours from the neighborhood (moved to Portland) has died from complications related to breast-cancer while on a summer trip to Italy. I was literally just hating/envying her from her FB posts from there- no idea she was even sick. One of the most amazing women I've met- fantastic combo of unbridled optimism/creativity with ground reality. incredible woman, incredible husband and incredible daughter (7) who I still hope my son marries someday.

I'm completely gutted. :( :cry: :(

Very sorry for your loss.

My cousin has a transgender friend who apparently participated in the golf competition in the gay games. Cousin posted about how well friend did yesterday. 4 times I have started to post "which tees?" but stopped myself.

I'm getting soft in my old age.

Man ------> woman?
You gotta play at whatever you start as right? Like I would play from the tips, and FDAS wouldnt be allowed on the course.

Hell no. Damn alligator took his arm off.

Thanks for the kinds words, folks.

This thing is so out of leftfield, and to such a truly amazing person and family... I just can't get my emotional state around it at all. I keep thinking about their 7yo daughter and immediately imagine my son- being completely destroyed if this happened to us. Let alone her husband (my friend) or me. JFC.

Yeah. One of my good friends from college died a while back, and even knowing it was coming for a long time, her husband was a wreck. The one positive from a diagnosis at 25 and spending the next 14 years fighting it was that they did not have to worry about kids. Cancer and its family really is a ****.

Sorry Floppo, that's awful.

Coop might have the croup. Called the Dr. to get him today and they haven't seen him in so long that he dropped out of their system. Once they found him, they informed me he hasn't had a check-up since he was 5. He's 10. Do you guys want me to call child services on myself or is somebody here already dialing. Good to have a healthy kid, but jesus...I make Britney Spears look like a responsible parent.
