GM's thread about nothing (17 Viewers)

Did Wilfred Brimley assemble this list?
Clearly the answer to that is no. Quaker Oats isn't on it.

That, and over half that list would basically be poison for him, what with his raging diabeetus. Wilford's list would be chock full of Weetabix and Fiber One, I'm wagering.

At breakfast. Our meals came with a side of pancakes, but Mr krista asked to substitute an English muffin. Got myself a real man.

I think my top 5 would be, in no particular order:

Captain Cruch

Corn Pops

Golden Grahams

Cocoa Pebbles

Fruity Pebbles

with Honey Smacks just on the outside and Raisin Bran the top "healthy" cereal.

When we have cereal in the house (rarely), I'll swipe a bowl on the weekend when I'm a little hungover. The sugar explosion usually helps. Otherwise, it's mainly used as an early morning dry snack for the kid when I'm too lazy to make breakfast right away (because I'm hungover). That peanut butter one (pebbles?) is the nuts.

Went to Chipotle last night for the first time in a long time. Noticed that they now serve tofu, which is appealing to my vegetarian wife, who normally doesn't eat fast food due to the lack of veggie options.

I, however, got a barbacoa burrito with beans, rice, salsa, lettuce, cheese....this thing was massive. I ate about 2/3 of it and couldn't move the rest of the night. Tasted fine, but jesus hortence christ on a pogo stick, talk about a gut bomb.

Going to eat the final 1/3 today for lunch. :bag: :porked: :porked: :porked: :porked:

Yeah this. We almost never have cereal and if we do it's usually Cinnamon Toast Crunch for my daughter, I was just basing my list on my experience as a kid (though I could really go for some Cap'n Crunch right now).

Wake me up when cereal chat is over. Bunch of kids in here.
I can't tell if you like Raisin Bran or not.

I mean, it's got those delicious treats known as raisins, but they are also covered in sugar.
It's been probably 10 years since I had a bowl, but yes, I do in fact love Raisin Bran. :bag:

plain Cap'n Crunch?
I celebrate the entire Cap'n's catalog, but I prefer the original if I have to pick one.
PB>>Crunch Berries>>>>>>>>>>>>>>original

Yeah, little Hazel lives on dry cereal when dad's running the morning show. She calls Fruit Loops "Woo Woooos", which makes me smile.

I ate a lot of Grape Nuts when I swam. I could go for some of those.

How was the muesli this morning?
I don't know what that is, but if it's German for "An apple with black coffee" then yes, I had it and it was sublime.
In Germany that's Apple Juice

Although I do think there is a time and place for pancakes, I'm with GM on the anti-cereal thing. Never been a fan. I'd be surprised if you could fill up more than 5 boxes with all the cereal I've eaten in my life, with most of that coming from camp when I was a kid.

Chipotle is disgusting
Don't get this either. More calories than any normal person needs in one meal, sure, but disgusting? It's chicken (or other meat), beans and rice. What's disgusting about that?
I should have gotten the salad or a bowl instead of the burrito. Way way way too many calories.

But yeah, I though it tasted good. I like black beans as an option. Good salsa. For fast food, it's great.

Wait English Muffins are manly now?
Toast the English muffin. Fry an egg and add Tabasco Sauce to the top. Slice some Tillamook Extra Sharp White Cheddar. Combine. Enjoy. If that's not a manly sandwich, I'll buy you a box of cereal of your choice.
My weekend breakfast (which I love) is a buttered toasted english muffin with an over easy egg on each one and 3 slices of bacon. Heaven.

Fried eggs on sandwiches are delicious but messy unless you overcook the hell out of the egg.

I posted some kind of dickish remark on the GMTAN Draft board a few days ago about "birthing a pick", naming YSR & krista (it's since been deleted, I think). I meant it in jest, but I think it read as meaner than I intended - it was funnier in my head than on the page. I apologize to whomever it may have offended.

You can skip the rice and beans, go with peppers and onions, meat, salsa and guac in a bowl. Actually quite healthy.

Burrito Bowl with Fajita fillings (peppers and onions) is :moneybag:

I did notice they had the grilled peppers/onions on the line, which I'd never seen before. They went in the burrito too. God, I'm a fatasssssssssss. :porked:

brought some of that cheese direct from the factory back with me to Chicago. It's phenomenal.
:hifive:

It is a staple at our house. Costco carries giant blocks of it. What a treat.

ground beef is delicious. also used to make burgers. what's the problem with seasoning it and putting it in a tortilla or taco shell?
