Dylan had a baseball game tonight and we went despite the lightening. I was surprised (####### wasn't) that the umps never got a call from the cocksucking mother####er running the show to call the game. Again. I waited for half an inning thinking someone would call or come to their senses but no. So I told Dylan to grab his stuff, it wasn't safe. Told the coach, my GB, and a couple other parents sitting by us. GB tells the umps nobody on his team is playing. Other team's coaches are furious because they couldn't see what the big deal was.

Guess I'll be calling City Hall tomorrow. I hate people.
I totally understand this, and you should call.
I decided to pay him a visit instead of calling. I tend to get my point across better in person. Guy was a total bag of ##### stating all of the decisions were made by the BOD. I told him to give me the name and number of the board head. He refused.I anticipated something like this happening considering what kind of nitwits would have a bunch of kids playing baseball while there was lightning and thunder so I informed him I already filed an incident report with the police. That got his attention. So now I'm waiting for someone from the BOD to call. :coffee:

Speaking of ebola, I'm getting pretty excited for this trip to Texas.

Cos> have you efforted a cornhole? You still have room for us?

Dates are October 23-26.

Taking Cooper in the Middle to the Ducks game tonight. Poor dude is always getting it bad from both ends. Big brother belittles him, bosses him around, dismisses him, ignores him. Little sister for some reason chooses him to take out her frustrations at being a 2 year old, always yelling at him, hitting him when he's trying to be nice to her. And of course, with the way life works, he's the middle child in every way. Everybody dotes on little Hazel and praises Kellen for excelling in school.

And yet Cooper just wakes up every day smiling, does everything he is supposed to, nice to everybody, easy going, lets most things roll off his back (though one day, he is going to obliterate his brother and I might just turn a blind eye). Perfectly content to spend all day outside playing sports or just curling up on the couch to watch sports or the Simpsons. Treats his sister like a princess even when she's mean to him and is constantly being asked over to friends' houses on the strength of good manners and low maintenance.

So I'm taking him out of school early today (emailed his teacher Monday for approval to make sure he didn't have a test or an activity), road tripping with him down to Eugene and going to the Ducks/Arizona game. I rented Rocky II from the library and he'll watch that while we drive down. He saw Rocky this month and can't wait to see the rest of the series (I refuse to show him V, though). Little man is pumped up for the night and so am I. He deserves a little special treatment.

tl;dr proud dad, excited for the night, Go Ducks.
You're a good man.
:goodposting: Well done GB.

It bothers me that my kid's teacher sends out an email to parents every day. It bothers me more that he does it while the kids are in class. Shouldn't he be teaching them or something?

I had my second favorite appointment with a doctor ever today and it has nothing to do with my health. I have been feeling a lot better since Sunday though so I'm optimistic and almost cancelled today because of that. Im glad I didn't though. /coyteaserforlater

She gave him the "Mini-Van"?

2 in the front, 5 in the back
Wait. That doesn't work.

Speaking of which, what's the OB/GYN say about how your head is healing up?

Speaking of parents....

I got this email yesterday ( was sent to all of his daughter's teachers)

I am Starbucks Uggboot's father and just noticed she is doing very poorly in the majority of her classes.

I am sending a group email to all her teachers to ask how she is doing in each of your classes and if you can give me some insight to what is going on with her?

how is her attendance, participation, homework completion, test scores, attitude in class, etc.

thank you for any input you can give me.
Yeahhhh....his daughter hasn't been at school in over a month. She is on "home hospital".

I didn't reply to him. I forwarded the email to the grade level dean. The parents are going through a divorce.

Even so how the hell do you not know your daughter hasn't been at school in a month?

If it's a nasty divorce, he may have lost custody entirely. If that's the case, he's going to use this information to prove that mom's unfit.

"Majority" does not mean what he thinks it means... unless she's not doing poorly in some of her classes despite not attending.

YES!!!!!!!!

I really can't believe the macho bull#### I see from most of these teams. WTMF, MLB wouldn't play under those conditions. Idiots.

YSR, you didn't mention anything. Maybe the diaper bag? You told Romo to change one of the kids.
I had to take matters into my own hands one time. it had gotten so dark that you could barely see. Parents were calling for the game to be called but the umpire would not budge. My daughter was on the mound and a girl hit a screaming line shot up the middle right at her face.

she caught it, but that was it. I jumped up out of the stands and I yelled, "That's it this game is over!"

Just then a voice behind me said " I got this" It was the head of the umpires. She had just gotten to the game. She took the umpire aside and gave him some hell for letting the game go so long as dark as it was. It wasn't a teenager either, it was a parent who thought this was the major leagues. Idiot.

Cool that you're doing something special for him.

One of my coworkers is going to Chicago this weekend and wants a recommendation for good Vietnamese or Thai food... Any thoughts? I don't think they would want super fancy, but it's their 20th anniversary, so I don't think they're afraid to shell out a couple dollars if needed

TIA

TAC Quick used to be really good for Thai but I think the head chef left to start a new restaurant so the quality may have slipped.

New place is Andy's Thai Kitchen, but I haven't been yet.

For Vietnamese, there's Le Colonial downtown but it's a chain. Tank Noodle is good and very popular up on Argyle, where there's a whole slew of options.

Someone could have been seriously hurt, plus she had just gotten braces and I saw dollar signs flash in front of my eyes.

I really hope that question was just schtick.

Le Colonial is still nice (didn't know it was a chain) and has a great atmosphere. It's more of a fusion place but I think that would be a top choice for Vietnamese. Tank is my favorite but I just can't see an anniversary dinner there, especially since you often have to share tables there!

For Thai, what about Amarind's, started by a long-time chef at Arun's (too bad it closed)? It's the only upscale, delicious Thai I know of. Haven't been to Andy's, though.

Thai and Vietnamese don't really lend themselves to anniversary celebrations, in my opinion, but I think either Le Colonial or Amarind's could fit the bill.

There's Ma Maison and La Scala...Scandia. And of the newer ones, I hear the Le Dome is quite nice.

Thanks to both of you! The whole weekend is part of their anniversary celebration, so I don't think this necessarily has to be the meal.

But if it is we should definitely look down our nose at them.

My neice's closest friend is Jim eno's daughter. So my brother and his wife are now in possession or two gold player super duper flux capacitor infused VIP weekend bracelets for acl this weekend.
