GM's thread about nothing (28 Viewers)

spin doctors were always horrible.
Your face is horrible.

Our new junior attorney asked me why I wear a tie to work. "Do you think that is going to make you more successful?" I replied, "I don't know doug, I'm already pretty successful" which made our gc laugh at Doug.

Lawyers are the best.
Any time I wear a tie to a PR/marketing association event, people assume I'm a lawyer. Austin has a pretty low standard for dress code.

Which reminds me, Josh Baer was in a full on suit at this deal we went to last night. First time I've seen him not in a t-shirt I think.
:lmao: :lmao: I get that too out here in The Prairie.

There was this hot chick at the restaurant tonight wearing a white top that was almost see through. I of course noticed her immediately. As we were leaving Mrs. SLB says "you can tell she's on a first date." I stopped, turned around to look again and she was looking at me. I smiled and faked a step forward towards as Pep grabbed me. I'm such a ####.

We had to sit in the bar tonight because I didn't make reservations. I didn't think it would be a problem being it was 5:30 and all but I guess the Tanners filled the place up. Cal and myself were talking, then he pauses and says to me "hey dad, check out the basketball game on TV". There were hot cheerleaders on. :) :) :) He had my smile on his face, I fist bumped him, and we went about our conversation.

Of course the little ##### called me an "oldie" later on. <_<

I also love Counting Crows. #### you.
You should grab some fake dreads like that guy.
I forgot to tell this story...

When we were at WWT (see FB) with the Scouts, the guy running the tour thought two of the kids, my neighbors boys, were girls. They both have glorious long blond hair. I would kill to have that again. Of course I would kill for even less but you know what I'm saying. It was painful though. The guy would say "so gentleman, and ladies". :lmao: :lmao: The kids were totally cool about it though just laughing. I mean tour guide couldn't have been more than 57. It's not like he was 90. Their mom finally had to act like she was contributing to the discussion to point out they were in fact XY. It was pretty awesome.

Huh. I play softball with a guy name Jon Bauer.

Listen to Jed. It's a great album.

Robby > Johnny
Is this a Goo Goo Dolls thing? I'll give it a whirl; you have good taste in...well, most everything.

ETA: I think I hate them mostly because they had the theme song for the ####ty ####ty ####ty remake (City of Angels) of my favorite movie.

These boys know the future belongs to them. It's cool and sucks at the same time. I was just happy that they said "thank you" every time the waiter brought them something. Years of teaching have paid off.

Also: Gin Blossoms

Yeah, that's after they sold out and Johnny Goo tried to become Jon Bon Jovi. They were originally a punk band in Buffalo. And songs when Robby sings are the good ones, which is most of Jed.

After I quit college, I hung around my GB's Dad and his friends. I always felt more comfortable around older people and all of my GB's were still away at school. Or in jail. GBDad died in 1995 and when Mr. Jones came out, it really hit me. Man that was us. My GB still hates me because I got to spend so much time with his pop smoking weed, getting bombed and women..... I miss him every day. She's looking at you, no I don't think so she's lookin at me..

spent the day with roverkid, notcrazychick and her son. went to lunch and then a movie. went to a friend's house, had some drinks and wrote a quick brief for him for his neverending divorce proceeding. wrangled a sleepover for my kid so I got to spend some adult alone time with notcrazychick. she revealed that she is way kinkier than she's been letting on (which I suspected).

frosty's italian beef in the slow cooker for a party for the NFC Championship tomorrow.

drinking alone at my house.

feels like Christmas.

seems so

FWIW, I'm not attributing my experience with my MIL to anything specifically. It was just odd. We had that dog for probably 10-11 years by that time and he had never acted like that. Maybe he had to take a ####, I don't know.

i've never worked anywhere as insane and unstable as my current job. today, the GM was canned OUT OF THE BLUE. the DOO is ####### nuts and makes every decision based on emotion and has no clue what he's doing. he's tight with the absentee owner, so has carte blanche to do whatever the #### he wants to do. unreal.

Lightning game was awesome last night. Off to go hiking today followed by good food and excellent beer for lunch. 3 day weekend! :excited:

I never post here and I won't anymore, because it smells like cat pee, but whoever said Train forty-two (42) pages ago wins.

My, my.

Off to meet Edwina R Murrow for breakfast. I'm starting to get some clingy vibes from her but I don't know her well enough to be sure. If I'm reading the signals correctly, I'm going to have to cut her loose. I'm not programmed for a girlfriend right now.

It's funny how your perspective on sleep changes with a kid. I just woke up, glanced at a clock, and thought "alright, 3 hours in a row!" and was pretty excited about it.

One of my friends posted a picture on Facebook last night regarding a bourbon tasting they were doing. The photo has two bottles of Pappy 15 year and three bottles of Pappy 20 year.
