GM's thread about nothing (20 Viewers)

I feel a little guilty this morning. I was so happy to see a guy drive his car off the road.

We had a nasty sheet of ice here in the morning (black ice --- OMG HISHUKE) which was publicized all over local weather. I don't watch local weather, but went out to get bagels this morning and needed exactly two steps out the side door to nearly break my neck and realize the roads will be treacherous.

So I get in the Land Rover and I'm slowly cruising out along the main roads. I notice a fire hydrant nearly knocked over with marks up onto the curb and a car parked about 20 feet past that with flashing lights. There were a couple of cars off to the side of the road like this that clearly had slid off and hid a tree or a hydrant etc.

A few blocks later, some icehole comes speeding up behind me in his Hyundai. I'm in the right lane and there's basically nobody else on the road, it's around 7:30am on a Sunday. He's riding my tail and I've got my 4yo in the back and thinking about what a moron this guy is. So he speeds up and goes into the left lane to pass me. He gets about 10 feet past my car and goes to move into the right lane in front of me, and of course the maroon's car goes sliding off the road up onto the curb and hits a small tree. I nearly hit him, had to swerve to maneuver around the tail of his car. As I did I leaned on the horn, first angry at the guy, then smiled gladly about the fact that he got every little ounce of what he deserved.

Suck it, Earnhardt.

People really are so, so incredibly stupid. I mean, I know this. I see it all the time. And yet somehow every time I see more evidence of it, I'm just stunned.
So you knew the roads were treacherous, but you went out for bagels anyway and also brought your 4 year old along for the ride?
Icy roads don't equal imminent death and destruction, GB. Us Arctic folk deal with it all the time.
This. I didn't lose traction once. Brains and even the most basic sense of gravity and physics can go a long way in life.

awesome to teach a 4 year old that you don't stop to make sure that someone that just crashed is ok; you lean on your horn and revel in their misfortune.

raising a future lawyer. nice job, GB.
It was an odd ending.
How's that? Bad enough his carelessness, aggressive driving and stupidity wrecked his car, but he nearly dragged me into it. Karma's a girl dog.

That's some good NY driving, GB O.

Damn straight!

At some point I put Drops of Jupiter on my running playlist for an unknown reason. Came on while I was on my long run yesterday. I may need to ban myself from the thread.
Train is pretty horrible but I like that song.

I'm a sucker for violins and #### in my rock songs.

LOOK AT ME! I DRIVE A LAND ROVER!
It's a 2006, bought used. It's the Omobile. Great car.
AngryWife and I were just talking yesterday about looking at a Land Rover but were worried about what message owning one would send. Knowing that Otis rolls in one confirms some suspicions.
"People will think we're smart and have great taste."

Join the party. Seriously love mine. Real comfortable upright seating position up front. Tall ride height. Great in bad weather or mud or obstacles. If the zombies come I feel well equipped.

OH COME ON!!!

Just finished watching American Sniper. Not terrible.
REALLY? That is not only surprising since you hate everything, but also because that movie looks awful. Not only did Mr. krista try to read the book and couldn't do it, but the ads:

Guy: "Baby?"

Girl: "Baby?"

Guy: "Baby?"

Girl: "Baby?"

Guy: "Baby, I'm coming home."

Girl: "Baby?"

Guy: "Baby."

Girl: "Baby?"

Guy: "Baby, I want to come home."

Girl: "Baby?"

It isn't awful. It definitely shouldn't win Best Picture (or probably even nominated) but I've seen much worse. I'm glad I didn't pay for it though.

Although I would keep an open mind, I highly doubt this.

I would be interested to see Bradley Cooper's performance, which I understand is fantastic. I think he's highly underrated.

Very much deserves to be nominated. It's top 3 easily for Awards season.

Oh, so you're a criminal.

14 days into clean Paleo diet (including no dairy). Down 7 lbs and my 35 waist pants fit again (was rocking the 36s last 6 months or so).

Probably

I just want to stop in and say thanks to GM (and whoever else from this thread) for finally convincing Timmy to confine himself to one thread. It has to be the best board upgrade in the last 8 years.

That is all.

GLlllllll Peas.

My wife talked me into watching This is where I leave you last night. She told me it was a comedy. I was super drunk but when the body didn't fall out of the casket in the first scene, I knew I was duped.
