Just got a text from a friend regarding my GB who has apparently started trying to drink himself to death. He got put on leave from his job and now isn't returning anyone's calls. He does have a live in gf so at least he's not completely alone, but I am stuck as to how to reach out in a successful way.

The reason I even know is because the gf alerted our mutual friend who contacted me. I don't think it is imminent danger.

I like GM's idea though. No reason I can't reach out to her directly as well.

Sorry to Thornbuddy hope he gets help. My brother was in a drinking/pot/prescription drug haze for a week before my mom drove up the 1.5 hours to check on him. Brought him home with her. It's been 2 years and he's clean-ish (still smokes pot on occasion but that's no biggie IMO) but he still is embarrassed/haunted by how dark he got inside.
