Hi guys,

Calling out to the FBG breathren... I'm out on the East Coast for RotoBowl and 3 of us are planning on running up to the game in NY on Sunday... any locals to the area have a recommendation on a great sports bar to catch the early games?

Thanks,

Steve

Go to that bar that's "the bada bing" in the Sopranos. IIRC it's only 10-15 minutes from Giants stadium. I forget what the real name is.There's a tiny bar right near the stadium exit road and it couldn't possibly be smaller and have more people in it. I don't recommend that place

I dont know about many bars in the NJ area. Satin Dolls is a strip club so if thats what you are looking for. However, fox sports grill in the palisades mall in rockland county is about 30-45 mins away from the meadowlands. Since the game is a night game, you can watch all the 1:00 games at fox sports and then head to giants stadium to tailgate and have more then enough time

Fox sports grill shows every game on huge plasmas.

not sure where you're coming from, but if you're looking to hang at a bar before the game I highly recommend Lookers (strip club). It's off 13a on the Turnkpike.

Otherwise, the tailgating in the Giants stadium parking lot is always great! I'm sure you'll find enough people there with sattelite dishes getting the 1:00 games.

NFL week 1, Giants home opener, Manning Bowl. dude, forget about the bars, the tailgate is where it's at!

he's coming from AC or south. I don't think he wants to drive 45 min past the meadowlands after a few hours on GSP. Just my guess though

I agree with brednbuddah, tailgate.

hit a supermarket on the way(tons on route 17)

if you're coming from AC and south, piranha pub in Belmar is an awesome place to watch football. see you at the game...

If you're not looking for a strip joint, but just looking for a place that will be full of Giants fans pre-game, look no further than the Grasshopper. It's only a couple of miles from Giants Stadium, with plenty of TV's, and decent food and as with all Irish pubs, plenty of draft beer. Bottled beer and liquor available as well. Here's the link for directions:

http://www.grasshopperrestaurants.com/direct.html

Have fun with whatever you choose. And don't forget to ask the parking lot attendant at the stadium where his gun and mask are considering the price you pay. They have to pay for that new stadium somehow!

Though if he goes to the Hopper, it's conceivable he could walk to the game. It's a hike for sure, maybe a mile or so...but I see people doing it all the time when I go to work on Sunday mornings.
