Week 11 - Tampa

Week 12 - @Arizona

Week 13 - @Green Bay

Playoffs

Week 14 - Seattle

Week 15 - @San Diego

Week 16 - @St. Louis

I just got lucky and picked up Gore (for MJD trade) and Crabtree (for Knox) to help improve my team for the playoff stretch. The 49ers schedule the rest of the way is pretty decent and right now you can probably get T. Smith off the waivers as a valuable backup QB. This is what I did being a P. Manning owner in one league. 49ers are a desperate team and with Smith in there they are starting to come together a little and win some games. The remainder of the schedule has some nice matchups and some of these guys should be stashed on your roster for the playoffs. Obviously Gore/Davis/Crabtree won't be available but Smith/Walker/Morgan all can be found on the waiver wire. Crabtree and Davis could probably be nice buy low candidates as well.

What do you guys think of the remainder of the Niners schedule?

Seattle is very good against the run, and so is the Rams (IIRC they rank 6th) and SD is no pushover.

The next 2 weeks however do look very tasty for Gore.

It's not the schedule that concerns me. The coaching/playcalling are something to pay attention to.

Gore/Vernon are studs you'd play no matter the matchup. Crabtree should be a good one. Morgan and Walker will be solid plays depending on your roster size. Troy Smith is currently my #2/3 qb in my start 2 league.

I'd take these guys if they were cheap to be had (aside from Gore/Vernon, who are worth a premium). But this isn't a team I'd go out of my way to load up on.

Seattle has struggled a bit since losing a good chunk of their d-line.
I also think Gore is pretty much matchup proof.I dropped Bess for Crabtree this week and am hopeful Crabtree can generate Top 15-20 production the rest of the way. He's scored in both games with Troy Smith and had a third TD negated by penalty last week. I think Gore, Davis and Crabtree could all deliver down the stretch and if Smith keeps this up he'll become a very viable QB2.

Both of these statements are true. Seattle has shut down Gore the last two outings, but Gore has traditionally put up big numbers against them. And the Hawks did struggle the last couple of weeks against the run, due to losing three critical players up front (Mebane, Cole, and Bryant). They already have Mebane back, and might have Cole back by the 49ers game. So it remains to be seen if they regain their form. One thing that will be a factor is that game is at SF.

Interesting about values, I'm considering dropping Cassel for Troy Smith as my backup QB. I have Matt Ryan, who is steady, but not setting the world on fire, and I am thinking of taking a flyer on Troy to see if he steps up his game. With the combination of trying to keep his job (even after Singletary's gone), and the glimmer of hope for the playoffs, I think he has the potential of putting up more points than Cassel. Vick's performance on Monday was the reason most people weren't talking about Cassel's performance on Sunday, but everyone agrees that was an aberration.

Anyone willing to take a sip of that Koolaid?

Are the 49ers without both a starting guard and tackle today? If so, impact on Troy Smith?

I picked him up to start over favre in a 2qb league but rice being activated and revenge game are giving me second thoughts. Smith had 3 more Tds called back last week though and it's a better matchup against tb than gb IMO.

Homer insight on smith?

Hope they do pull it together. The 49er's schedule was advertised prior to this season, and I drank the koolaid enough to end up with all three in the league draft.

So it's been a waiting game--as they sure haven't lived up to early season expectations. Gore has been an every week play; Davis I've platooned fairly successfully with Cooley, and the past few weeks finally made it worthwhile holding onto Crabtree while hoping for the same late season upsurge as last year. Troy Smith does seem to be making a difference fantasy-wise.

they will be missing staley at LT most of the rest of the season. Sims filled in last year without too much of a dropoff, at least in pass protection, so I don't think that loss will kill smith's value. All of their guards are healthy.very curious to see how smith plays against a decent secondary this week. I'm still reticent to recommend him for fantasy purposes, although he clearly does good things for the WRs' fantasy values.

Thanks. I thought i read that Rachel was being disciplined. I just wasn't sure if he was suspended 1 game or not.

thoughts after yesterdays disaster? I also drank the koolaid and have gore, crabtree and drafted smith.

I am sick of crabtree on my team, who thinks he will get better or should you look elsewhere for someone actually producing on the WW?

I cut Bess for Crabtree and came out one point ahead this week.I'm elated.

I bought into the SF kool-aid. I played T Smith over Fitzpatrick yesterday. I must have drank too much because I still feel sick this morning

I ran with my homerism and did the same thing. I was screwed either way as my opponent erupted for high score of the year, but Troy will probably be cut from my squad after yesterday's performance.

Josh Freeman threw for four yards in the first quarter and the Bucs were still winning when the quarter ended. The 49ers were just putrid offensively yesterday. Smith was the primary culprit but I don't know how you can be that inept when you have Gore, Crabtree and Davis. All three of those guys are very talented players.
