Greatest Video Game Draft 2011 (2 Viewers)

1.12 - Link - The Legend of Zelda - Main Character

pm'ing rikishiboy since i will not be home all day with my next pick

1.5 The Legend of Zelda-NES Role Playing Game
Good pick. First game to ever use a battery pack. I always hated passwords and still do. God bless emulators that I don't have to deal with them anymore on those games.
1.5 The Legend of Zelda-NES Role Playing Game
a couple years ago I got so good at this game that I could speed run it in about 40 minutes... World Record is like 28 minutes or something like that...I was (and am) way prouder of this fact that I should be...
It is so much easier now than it was when it released. Back then, it was so epic. I remember my friends and I making our own maps and adding to it as we went along, then share and compare the next day at school.
 I remember how awesome it was when Nintendo Power put out a map in one of their issues.edit: I found the map from an old issue of Nintendo Power, but it's of the 2nd quest: http://img131.imageshack.us/img131/2968/ze...from19886mb.jpg

Tetris, NICE! Very very nice pick for the category!
I think I would switch the Tetris pick to Gameboy. Tetris was what sold that system. Without it, it would've probably been packaged with Super Mario Land and been seen as a child's toy.Just my opinion. But it's a solid pick.

Nevermind. I see it's placed in the puzzle category, so it doesn't matter either way. Definitely the best first pick for puzzles. I believe it was taken last pick of the first round last time too.

My thought also.

this is what I got in my inbox:

Mario Kart wants---Samus Aran (Villian)I want Gran Turismo IV of PS2 (racing)
I'm assuming "Villian" is a typo of some sort since Samus is the good guy...My pick:Final Fantasy VI(JP)/III (USA), 3rd Generation RPGChrono Trigger is gonna be RPG, Final Fantasy VI/III is going to be "Best Story"...As the best of all the Final Fantasy games, FF VI is the height of story, the height of the JRPG genre, and one of the greatest games ever made.My team now has my #1 and #2 game of all time...

I sent madshot a PM. My pick is dependent on his response. Please enjoy the music while you wait.

....

Thank you for holding. Your call is important to us. Please continue to hold and the next representative will pass you along and allow you to wait in our queue.

Just sent a response.

2.06 Resident Evil 4 (Suspense/Horror)

My favorite RE and I have never been on more of an edge playing a video game then when I played RE 4

Completely caught off guard this morning. I had a PM saying I was up and had to pick two spots in a matter of one minute before leaving. I am okay with the two but I did have FFIII queued up as well had Samus been taken on the turn.

I was not even thinking of Tetris however that would not have gotten back to me unless I skipped Link first. Still lots of game to play.

ROUND 2. 07 Street Fighter II - (Arcade) - Fighter

With all the characters you could choose from, this game is limitless fun. Loads of characters, loads of moves, tons of irritation until you’re able to figure out how to combat all the other characters moves, a perfect recipe for a great 2 player game.

Excellent pick. I knew there was no way this was lasting until my next pick. I'm still unsure of where to put Goldeneye 007, but Multiplayer works for now.

This was going to be my pick if it was still there.

I can judge more categories if you want. Looks like you're missing a bunch of judges.
Same here. If you need us to judge more categories, we can do so, madshot. If we can, I'd like to do Puzzle and Worst Game.

I didn't own an N64, only a PS1, so I think it'd be unfair to judge 5th Gen. And I don't play many RPG games, so I think it'd be bad for me to judge "Best Story"...

How about "Worst game" and "Action/Adventure"?

Both of you posted for it within a few minutes. Insein has dibs since he was first, but if you want you can share it.

If Steve wants worst game thats fine. Flex or Worst is fine for me. Also if no one eventually goes for 5th gen, I can do it. I'd rather have another person do 5th gen though. That way we have a different opinion for all the generations. I owned a 64, PSX and played all sorts of PC games from that era. Jaguar and Saturn Ive only played a handful though.

I haven't played video games in quite a while but played a ton up through the SNES era. Up to that point, no game I ever played even comes close to Final Fantasy III. The story/characters/dialogue/gameplay/villain/music couldn't be improved upon. Played it all the way through five times and loved it each time. Best game ever made IMO.

My mom let me stay home for half the day to play this for my birthday in 6th grafe

2.9 Metroid- 3rd generation (I think)

Will have my pick in like 10 minutes. I never thought any of these 3 games would make it back to me, but they have. ####### choices.

2.10 - NHL Hockey 94 - Genesis - Fourth Generation

“NHL Hockey 94 was the first game to support four players at once. It introduced one-timers to hockey videogames, and brought to the ice a fast, fun, and fierce gameplay experience that hockey games today are still trying to live up to.”

You know a game is good when 15 years later people are still gaining fans in the age of graphics obsessed whining COD kids. I found a SEGA Genesis and some games in a cardboard box in a friends garage while helping him move. Inside was this gem that I have never played before until 6 months ago. Now it is used to solve our disputes and for drinking games. This game is so simple, but fantastic, so fun and addicting.

NHL 94 was also one of the first with season mode. My friend and I would play entire seasons in a weekend. Many, many hours wasted playing that game during my early teen years. :wall:

Not much of a gamer ever (my parents wouldn't let me have video games as a child :excited: ), but NHL 94 came out my senior year in high school and we played it all thoguh college

We'd have tourneys, skip class to play, invent drinking games and come up with all kinds of our own rules

We had one tourney where we could all create one superplayer for our team

Most everyone created a 99 level center that would dominate

One of my buddies created a goalie

:lmao:

We still mock him over this
