I feel the same about much of the arcade and older generation picks. My first gaming console I really got to play was the N64.

I was afraid I'd be the only oldish-timer here, but it looks like there are a few more. The trick will be knowing the age of the judges.I was at the prime age for arcades when they first came out (late elementary / early jr high), worked in an arcade for a couple years, and worked my way through most systems up through the beginnings of PS2. Heavy on NES/SegaGenesis in college years for some reason. Hmmmmm. My main exposure to games since then is what my kids are playing on WII these days - so I'll be having to do some legwork for any of the newer stuff.Sounds like a good mix of older and newer gamers - should make the draft fun.

Feel like I have a good grasp on both older and newer games, but within the past 5 years I've kinda lost touch. With only 13 drafters and 23 categories for games that's just about 300 games. Might be a little difficult towards the end, but I don't doubt every game mentioned will be iconic and well-known.

1.04 Super Mario Bros. 3 - NES - Platformer

I remember looking at this game in the store when I was a kid and almost having a religious experience. I absolutely flipped my #### when I got a different game (not going to mention it for obvious reasons) for my birthday a few years earlier, but Super Mario Bros. 3 was revolutionary. I'm actually a little jealous I can't take it now.

Good pick. First game to ever use a battery pack. I always hated passwords and still do. God bless emulators that I don't have to deal with them anymore on those games.

It is so much easier now than it was when it released. Back then, it was so epic. I remember my friends and I making our own maps and adding to it as we went along, then share and compare the next day at school.

Hack and slash is more of a button masher game that is you and maybe a few friends vs the world in a game that goes through distinct levels. Fighter is more like a 1v1 or 2v2 to the death. Although other games can apply to fighters, but it is usually is to determine a winner.
