Greg Zuerlein (1 Viewer)

@STLouisRams Zuerlein is 1st in @nfl history to tie game w/ 0:00 left in 4th & win in OT w/ 50+ yard FGs

Been rolling with old man Hanson - I dropped him for his bye, and never got him back.

If he would have been available I would have scooped him up and started him.

Hanson had 18 yesterday (standard bonus +1 over 40, +1 over 50). Legatron had 10. I won by less than 6.

No question I'll be targeting him in next year's redraft. Kid is phenomenal despite the hiccup games.

Herman, what do you think about Zeurlein? He's going to kick some really long FGs at some point, no?
That's funny. Before he came along, 55+ was a real long FG. This guys leg is a freak of nature. 60 yards is not even in question with him and 70 could be considered a really long FG for him.

What do we think about Legatron for the rest of the season? Kid has an atomic powered bionic leg, but the opportunities are a bit few and far between.

If you consider 50+ as really long, then he already has. He needs just one more 50+ yarder this year to tie Morten Anderson and Jason Hanson for most in one season. Two would of course give him the record. If you consider 60+ as really long, he's getting those opportunities as well. So, yes.

Do you think he's going to get more chances moving forward? It would seem like yesterday validated the concept of him winning games for them. After several much shorter misses over the past couple of weeks, I was afriad they'd stop trotting him out for the deep kicks.

As far as the offense goes, who knows if he'll get more chances. As far as Fisher goes, he's had confidence in him since game 1 and he hasn't wavered even when the kid was struggling. Actually, it has almost become a bad habit for Fisher because when he gets into The Leg's range (Within 55) he really has sort of gotten conservative with the play calling as if he's just trying to make sure he gets a FG attempt instead of a turnover.

50, pffft. Yes, I'm talking about 60+ and breaking range records. I didn't realize he was so close to the 50 yard FG record. That's impressive. I would guess he at least ties it.

He started the season 15 of 15 but ended it only making 8 of his last 16 attempts. What are current thoughts on him? He is just a rookie albeit an older one (25 years old).

Blair Walsh is just a rookie. Lacked the Legatron hype factor, had to settle for 10/10 over 50 (GZ was 7/13) and a Pro Bowl berth.

Time to fire er back up!

55 and 54 tonight so far.
I was actually surprised they did that twice. All I've heard is how they are resting him so he doesn't break down in the second half, so I thought maybe they'd let those opportunities go to another kicker. It's not like his job is in jeopardy or anything.

Do they even have another kicker on their 90? If so, they should have let him have a go at it so he could show what he's got and maybe get on with another team.

Edit: Brett Baer. Shoulda let him walk on the field and show what he's got. Maybe he hooks on to a team who does that cut-their-kicker-in-week-four routine.

I got to watch this guy in college - dude would warmup with 55 yarders like they were nothing. Strongest leg I have ever seen - Janikowski with more accuracy.

Zuerlein is the only kicker I'd consider reaching on (i.e. before the 2nd to last round), as my league gives 5pts for FGs of 50yds+

6 points for 50+. No penalty for misses. Shortened our rosters to 7 bench players with a cycling ww...I'll reach in the 13th/16 for him.

Legatron is my favorite part about fantasy football. I don't understand why he's not one of the first kickers off the board. I've got him in 8 leagues.

Amen to that. I have gotten him in nearly every auction I have done so far for only a buck. Fine by me. :IBTL:

in NFC West, two domes, and ARI not known for a lot of rain (even SF relatively temperate weather compared to some other parts of the US)...

Very surprised he's not up closer to top of the K rankings.

I plan on getting some Lego tonight and also the Rams D. I'm a sucker for the late bye.

I just drafted him last night again. Two leagues. Two times that he's been my kicker. When I put my team into the Rate My Team function here at FBG, I was absolutely shocked that it said that he wasn't even a starting kicker in most leagues.

LEGATRON WILL PROVE YOU WRONG, FBG. You will rue the day! RUE!

Exactly. I want to know what 12 kickers have a better combination of leg and opportunity, particularly in leagues where you get bonuses for 50+ yard FGs.

The Rams offense will be MUCH better this year too. Night and day better

I guess people are just blind? He did put up 20 points for me last year in one game alone... (long fg bonus and all) They rested him all offseason as well so hopefully his second half of the season will be infinitely better than last year. (fingers crossed)

He's going to be better than top-12.

FBG has him ranked around 17th & 20th right now (that's 2 different rankings).

I think owners might want a top-5 kicker, and Z could be that. Problem is last year despite some spectacular games he started missing the long ones and the Rams offense stalled and he had some really bad outings, the kind that get you beat. This year though if people are going after FF skills players in places like CHI, PHI, KC etc. because of a change in offensive philosophy leading to more plays, more success, then they should probably be looking at the kickers there too. StL is one of those places.

This guy is the perfect kicker to own. He's on an offense that will be improved, and will be able to move the ball, but will still often stall out and have to settle for FGs. And he kicks those 50/60 + yarders like it's nothing, it's a decent advantage - most leagues that I know off have more points for those than a 25 yard kick. And best of all, he's the most FUN kicker to own - kickers are kind of pointless in fantasy to be honest, but if your guy might be able kick a 65 yarder, he's in play whenever his team has the ball, and you have higher potential for scoring opportunities than with other kickers with average legs.

They have this guy at #17? How do I get invited to their league?

Didn't understand the hate for him in the rankings. He had a bad stretch as a rookie that all kickers go through at some point. A couple years ago, David Akers couldn't buy a FG to save his job in Philly and then went to SF and was perfect on the season.

The fact that he plays in a dome, he can drill 60 yarders with ease and he has an offense that should move the chains but may still struggle to put it in the end zone makes him as good a prospect at kicker as there is. I was glad to be able to get him in the last round of both my leagues (18th and 20th). No one even thought to take him because the rankings gospel has him in the high teens.
