lol wdis kicker thread.

what is it with all these wdis people?

the entire point of playing fantasy football is making these decisions.

if you can't make decisions just find something else to do with your time.

Just picked up Greg the Leg. Brings at least a little excitement to the boring kicker position. Since kickers are interchangeable i always like to add some elementto the position that makes it enjoyable. Whether that is grabbing your home team kicker, the kicker of your stud rb (so that if he gets stuffed in the red zone you getsome consolation points), or in this case a rookie with a monster leg that is exciting to watch. I say if the kicker position really is worthless and a lucky crapshoot, find a kicker that adds some personal enjoyment to your Sundays.

11 points. Solid. And I agree is a lot of fun having him and actually caring about the Rams hoping they'd be in 50 yard kick scenarios. Entirely stupid but fun.

I'm high on Zuerlein as well. After reading about him in the offseason, he was one of my first free agent pickups after the rookie draft in my dynasty league. I think he's a no-brainer pickup in dynasty leagues with scoring bonuses for long FGs.

So glad I read this thread weeks ago. 17 points.

Love this guy. Just wish I'd been watching the kicks live but Rams are always banished to the corner tv at the sports bar.

Lovin' this kid, he's actually been the difference for me about 2 or 3 times this season by outscoring my opponent's kicker every week by a decent margin.

I wonder how far he could kick from in Denver?

At first, I suspected he might only be an auto-start at home -- or in road domes. (I carry two kickers in leagues with deeper rosters). But his leg is SO damn strong, and he's SO damn accurate, there's no way you can ever take him out of your lineup. Even last week, against a good defense and on grass at Chicago, he still drilled two FGs... one of them a 56-yarder.

He's going to have a stinker game here and there. It's inevitable. The Rams are sure to get down BIG on the road.

But still, enjoy the ride!

:shark: this guy is the real deal. Love the nickname Legatron :lmao:

for those of you who say kickers don't matter Greg "the Leg" won me my game today!

Many thanks to those in this thread. I picked him up two weeks ago and he's been money. With that weak offense, he'll be kicking long field goals all year long. The guy is $$$.

Been on board for a couple weeks ... ain't too proud to LEG! :pickle:

20 points this week, with all the bonuses tossed in. :headbang:

So glad I dropped Gostkowski for this guy before week 1. He's amazing and Fisher trusts him.

So the question I have - why does FBG continue to rate him so low? He's listed as 29th and 30th by Dodds & Herman. He's the #1 kicker in our league (and many others, I suspect). This guy is a difference maker on my team - he has a VBD of 4ppg, which is better than the #1 TE right now in our league. I get the reluctance to say that all of a sudden kicker makes a difference, but it seems like he should get a little more attention now that we are a 1/3rd through the season.

I never draft a kicker early but took this guy before the last rounds becasue of this thread. I actually did not start him this week (Started Tucker) but that will not happen again. Fisher did say he would at some point let him try a 70 yard FG (or at least thats what an announcer said i think week 2) will be fun to watch if he does.

Seems like this guy is ranked really low every week and he is now the number 2 scoring kicker in my league. I might have to drop Graham for this kid. What's the overall feeling going forward with games against Miami, GB, NE, and SF? Do the Rams have enough offense to at least get to the 43 yd line and keep up so that kicking a FG is a viable option on 4th down?

I dropped Graham for him after week 1 thanks to this thread. If you can still get him go for it. His value is in the fact that when the Rams would normally punt they will now try field goals so in that sense he is matchup proof (unless you think the Rams won't even get to the 50.)

I wouldn't worry too much about those defenses, they're all fairly susceptible to short passing attacks which is all the rams really have at this point. And they certainly have shown no problem dinking and dunking their way to the opponent's 40, which is about all Leg needs really. Also Fisher's teams always seem to be disciplined in defense and special teams so I expect them to have decent field position in most games as well. If your league gives bonus for long FGs, Leg is a must add, the kid is $.

Reminds me of that year Rackers had in Arizona. He was a huge ff weapon for me and helped me win a championship.

I still can't bring myself to start a Rams kicker, even with yardage bonuses (0-39=3, 40-49=4, 50+=5). What I really want from my kicker is to avoid the 0 and 1 point days. I'm sticking with Justin Tucker and the Baltimore offense.

Zuerlein has scored double digits pts every week so far (in leagues with yardage bonuses like you listed).

Unfortunately I can't make use of those points by picking him up now. I have to play for the upcoming weeks, and his offense still makes me nervous.

Why? He's been good against both good defenses and bad defenses (not that I'd really worry about the Rams never settling for FGs). He was a little off in his only non-dome game, but it was still an above average week, and he's indoors for most of his remaining games, and 3 out of the 4 before his bye.

Surprised that there's talk of picking this guy up, it's hard to name even 5 kickers that I'd take over him. He should be owned in all 12+ team leagues for leagues that reward fg points based on distance.

Kicker hype! :football:
