Guard Cat: Real. American. Hero. (video) (1 Viewer)

Local news now reporting that the BPD says the dog will be put down. Pretty sad.
If a dog viciously attacks a kid unprovoked, that's the result you're gonna get.
Oh I agree. I just wonder if this was a case of the dog being mistreated or not being socialized etc.
Probably a combo of all. Maybe that type of dog has stronger than normal hunting instincts of small prey and requires stronger training as a pup and or extra socialization.

Says the dog is half lab, half chow. Chows are one of the most aggressive dogs out there. I think they lead the nation in attacks against humans.

Chow chows are believed to have evolved from the gray wolf.

I had a blue chow once and they are extremely territorial.

Little known fact:

They're also known to get their asses whooped by cats.

It's funny because on a homeowner's insurance policy you have the pitbull exception but also chow chows. I never understood it. Now I do.

Chows are badass. When we were kids one of the neighbor kids "sic'ced" his dog on my brother (he was doing it a kind of a joke/smartass thing) and the dog literally attacked my brother. It was really scary.

I used to have 95lb Rottweiler Chow mix. She was a badass dog. But very mild mannered, never attacked or bit anyone, and loved the 2 cats she lived with. That said, she intimidated everyone who didn't known her and she was one hell of a watch dog.

I have a Rotty now and it's the same thing. Neighbors come over to pet her and she's very gentile. Strangers keep the #### off my lawn! :D

we never get soliciting knocks on the door.

So I'm wrong thinking the dog was just playing?
Did you see the injuries?
nope. on a small screen, looked like the dog was going for clothing, not skin... but that's why I asked.

amazing cat.

and I agree with the previous poster about why the mom took off there- looked like she was going to make sure the dog was out of the picture before tending to her son.

She also got bit by the dog. Wasn't serious enough for stitches but she did get a tetanus shot.

When did she get bit? Looked like "Kitty" ran off the mutt before Mom arrived.

Not sure, just what the dad said in an interview I read. Maybe her bite ended up on the cutting room floor.

Found out the other day that Tara's "dad" works at the same company as my brother.
Does your brother work at a vets office or pet food tasting company or something?
