Coach Pete Carroll said after Friday's workout that Harvin is seen as "day to day." The Seahawks will likely start Harvin barring next-week setbacks.

Percy Harvin's long-awaited return to the field might arrive just in time.

The Seahawks receiver practiced again Tuesday, ahead of Saturday's NFC divisional playoff showdown with the New Orleans Saints, coach Pete Carroll announced.

The Seattle X-factor also participated in Friday's session, but Carroll told reporters that Tuesday's practice would loom as a huge factor in whether or not Harvin plays this weekend. "If (Percy's) playing, that means we're going to do whatever we planned to do with him," Carroll said.

Harvin has appeared in only one game this season after undergoing surgery on the hip last summer. His presence would give Seattle's fairly thin receiving corps a tremendous boost against Rob Ryan's defense.

If he does play, he'll likely be put on a snap count, but everything we know about Harvin tells us he only needs one opportunity to wreak havoc on a game plan.

Speaking after Thursday's practice, coach Pete Carroll went so far as to claim that Harvin wouldn't be on a snap count. Harvin believes he's turned a corner, so much so that he "absolutely" hopes to return kicks vs. the Saints. Despite Carroll's proclamation, we still expect Harvin's role to be limited — he's simply missed too much time — but he'll be a high-upside play in daily leagues. The Seahawks offense was stagnant at times in December, and Harvin could be just the jolt it needs.

We're unlikely to know Harvin's status for the NFC Championship game until later this week. Harvin played 19 offensive snaps Saturday.

Because the nfl is playing a shellgame w concussions, trying to look like they're doing something without doing much. The idea that the concussed player needs to decide if he can go back in is ludicrous on its face. The idea that coaches can make the decision is even stupider. You have a team medical staff, they should have final authority to decide who is ruled out, period. Players cant be overriding doctors ESPECIALLY ABOUT HEAD INJURIES.

The window is quickly closing on Percy Harvin's chances of suiting up for the Seattle Seahawks' NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers.

A source informed of Harvin's condition has told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport that the wide receiver has not gained clearance from his concussion as of Friday morning.

This is obviously not a good sign for the playmaker.

Don't assume Harvin is definitely out, though. The Seahawks are still "waiting," per Rapoport.

The key is which of the two levels of clearance Harvin is seeking. The first is the team doctor green-lighting football activity. The second is an independent neurologist giving the go-ahead for full contact.

We will have a better idea of Harvin's status when the Seahawks' injury report is released late Friday afternoon.

We previewed Championship Sunday and sat down with Rams star Robert Quinn in the latest "Around The League Podcast."

* Ignoring his rushing yards with the never had 1,000 yards shtick (perhaps you meant receiving yards, though you didn't specify or qualify the response, otherwise mistaken in terms of total, combined yards, as pointed out upthread) is a puzzling omission, as he is probably the greatest rusher from the WR position in league history. That would be like evaluating Vick's body of work in ATL and leaving out all his rushing numbers, or Sproles as a RB in PPR leagues while ignoring his receiving numbers.

Sources tell FOX Sports that the Seahawks expect Percy Harvin (concussion, hip) to play in the Super Bowl.

The two week layoff ahead of the Super Bowl should do Harvin wonders. His concussion is considered mild, and he came out of the Saints game without any setbacks in his hip. It sets up Harvin to be a major weapon in the biggest game of the year even though he's logged a grand total of 39 snaps during his first season with Seattle. Expect a fistful of manufactured touches in addition to work in the return game.

Harvin's return will undoubtedly boost a Seattle team that is currently a two-point Super Bowl underdog.
