I don't think so. The "boy" is Lancel Lannister and given his attitude lately I doubt he's willing to do Petyr's bidding.

I don't think he'd have anything to do with Petry anymore. He's gone full crazy. They certainly didn't seen to have an amenable relationship when Lancel threatened Petyr in the street.

Right, that's my take as well, and I think it supports Instinctive's assertion.

If Lancel is asked by the High Sparrow to provide testimony against Cersei, he will do so. Therefore, Cersei will be (at this point, was) accused and will be put on trial.

Petyr knows this. Therefore, the "boy" he has for Olenna is in fact Lancel. Petyr will tell Olenna about Lancel and Cersei, Olenna will tell the High Sparrow about Lancel and Cersei, and the High Sparrow will do with Cersei as he's done with Loras and Margaery.

In other words, when Petyr told Olenna, "I have a boy for you" (or whatever the exact wording was -- I think it was a "handsome" boy or some such), he didn't mean, "I have a boy for you who is fond of me and will do my bidding." He meant, "I know someone who'll make a good witness against Cersei; I'll tell you about him and you can approach the High Sparrow with the information."

I'm not 100% that Lancel is the "boy" Petyr had for Olenna, but that's what it seems like based on what we've seen so far.

I think it makes sense, I just feel like Lancel would've already come clean about that when he joined up as some part of a confession thing to get in. But I agree that it probably makes the most sense.

The only thing is if I were Olenna, would I not try and use Lancel as leverage first in some way? Throwing Cersei behind bars is good and fun, but it doesn't free her kids.

But yeah, like I said, Lancel makes the most sense. I guess the only other thing it could be is one of Rob's bastards. I have no idea how Petry would be connected to Gendry or whatever, but if the Septon were to find out that the king was born of incest, he could tear the whole thing down.

what I found interesting was #1 the white walkers reaction as he strikes jon's sword and it doesn't get destroyed. #2 the nights king kind of acknowledged something about Jon in that stare down as he raised the dead, like he knows who/what Jon is

Martin's actions over the last few years suggest to me that he's way more excited about enjoying his fame as the writer of ASOIAF than doing any actual writing on it. He seems to spend the majority of his time writing his blog, editing anthologies or making appearances at events instead. i wouldn't be surprised if it eventually comes out that he's just lost interest in finishing the story.

I'm sure he's not all that happy about the show doing it for him, but the prospect of that happening should've lit a fire under him several years ago if he really cared about it. Hard to really blame him, though - he's already made plenty of $ off it and writing those things has gotta be hard work.

I didn't get the vibe from that scene there was anything magical about Jon. To me, it just seemed that the lead white walker was intrigued that someone had anti white walker equipment, and then was basically just taunting him at the end.

Great episode all the way around except for one quibble - why didn't the wildlings use fire on the zombies (or at least why didn't Snow tell them to)? At the point they're breaking through the pallisade, might as well light it on fire.

I doubt it happens, but it'd be an interesting twist if Ramsay took his "20 good men" and Sansa over to Stannis and sold out his own dad by agreeing to open Winterfell up to Stannis in exchange for being named warden of the north.

I wonder if they'll arrange to get Mellisandre back to castle black in time for the the assassination attempt on Jon. I think I'm more interested in seeing how that gets resolved than anything else right now.

Glad to see they kept the Cat of the Canals storyline.

I can agree with that, but if they already have Dany fly away in the next episode that's a pretty fast transition to power for Tyrion, imo.

True, but that should make things interesting for Tyrion. It also sets him up as the guy who sends Daario off to get killed (if they follow through on that).

I had the same observation but I think the portrayal of the wights at Hardhome makes them seem like more of a legitimate threat to the wall. I always wondered how a bunch of lumbering zombies would be a threat to breach a 700 ft ice wall.
