Hello? Anyone seen Chad? (1 Viewer)

Chad's sucking it. in my 14 team (non-PPR) redraft, i keep playing him ahead of guys like Reggie Williams, Doug Gabriel, and even Colston without thinking. is it time to begin considering him a week-to-week start?? i've got Steve Smith, Javon Walker, and Williamson (bleh) along with the guys i just mentioned, so i can wait for Chad to come around rather than selling low....

i know no one cares about my team, but what's with the sluggish start, and will it continue? is it time to begin thinking about starting guys like Reggie Williams, Gabriel, Javon, etc over Chad?

if you had this same thought about Santana Moss before this week you would be getting a bunch of :ptts:
don't get me wrong, i'm not whining about starting so-and-so and blaming my loss on Chad (hell, i still haven't lost with Donovan going tonight). my point is, is he still a must-start? the Pats made Cincy look pretty beatable, and Chad hasn't been producing.

Housh has earned more attention by secondaries, but their schedule doesn't get any easier after the BYE (@TB Car Atl @Bal SD).

Im benching Johnson after his bye week. His schedule is brutal, and with Jennings and Bryant on my bench Im not going to wait around. Besides, with TJ & Henry around, he wont crack top 10 this year.

chad was actually have a pretty nice game yesterday until the 2nd half... on the first drive in the second half he had a 15 yd grab, then another 10 yd grab near the goalline where rudi punched in the TD...

then the bengles became the bungles again and their O fell apart... palmer fumbled the ball on the first play of the next 2 posessions and then the game was basically over

Send a bottle of Jack Daniels to Henry. Problem Solved.

Good luck with that. :lmao:
I hear you, but ask how many guys who drafted Randy Moss last year (and stuck with him) won titles? Names dont mean #####, production does. Ive been playing long enough to know that there are top guys that bust every year, and if you stick with them too long you'll go nowhere. CJ looks like he's going to bust this year for sure, it was a mistake picking him. He's not getting open and they're spreading the ball way too much. Oh yeah, and take a look at his next five games:@ TBCarolinaAtlanta@ BaltimoreSan DiegoGo ahead and stick with CJ dude. See you next year.

I turned down a Chad and Ahman Green for Anquan Boldin trade last week thinking Chad would turn it around. Instead I traded Lawrence Maroney and Reggie Williams for Boldin! :wall:

Word is they are going to adjust the OL in Cincy, if this works and gives Palmer time to throw the ball Chad will get his. If the defense keeps playing the way they have, Cincy will have to throw the ball to stay in games, which means more chances for Chad.

Why would you trade for Boldin anyways? With Matt Hilton starting, say goodbye to the Fitz-Boldin duo. And no, do not tell me they did well with Mccown at QB. McCown was not a rookie then. Leinart will get destroyed behind that OL. I told everyone who would listen that they should stay away from Gates this year. I was told Rivers is not a rookie and hence there would be no problems. Well, guess where Gates stands right now among TEs.....

I am sure he will bounce back this week. By no means should you bench him in week 5, go ahead and start him.

Chad is getting a lot of looks. Week 3 was an anomoly when he only got 2 targets, if he got just 5 more that game he would have 40 on the season which would tie him for 5th. Converting targets to actual receptions hopefully comes soon.

I think you're right.. oops

CJ will go absolutely nuts this week. I'll be shocked if he does any worse than 8 for 120 and 2 scores. Its a lock. Book it.

On your Xbox maybe but Chad is off this week. The Bengals offensive line play was erratic at best on Sunday. It seemed like Palmer was getting hit on every drop back, so I wouldnt worry too much about Chad. Its 4 weeks guys. He scored in one of those games, and got shut out pretty much in the Steelers game, but other than that has been middle of the road pretty much. He hasn't been a Top 5 WR the past few years for nothing, and last time i checked Harrison and Wayne have 0 TD's so far this season, but i'm sure nobody is talking about benching them. His next few games are not that difficult. Tampa Bay is atrocious this year, Carolina can be passed on, Atlanta can definitely be passed on, Baltimore he has always done well against, and San Diego is tough but I wouldnt bench him for any of those games. He'll come through sooner than later

:missing:

Well, I'm a bit worried. I like the target #'s, but, with Palmer under duress he has to chuck the ball before he's ready. That counts as a target, but, not very catchable.

With their strong run game, 2 (or 3 if Henry is on the field) good WR's, I expected alot more.

Maybe he's still feeling that hit he took a few weeks back?

Chad will most likely get his typical 90-1200-10 season, but as with the past several years, his numbers will probably come in bunches. Due in large part to a great surrounding cast, he's a bit less consistent on a WEEKLY basis than the Torry Holts and Steve Smiths of the world. But by season's end, he'll most likely be up there with the league leaders - he's too good not to.

I'm not sure these defenses scare me as much as some of you, especially the first two.
