How did Benson look today? (1 Viewer)

just wondering with the Bush injury and possibly SJax, for those that are desperate could Benson be a few week answer? He had 52 yards on 14 carries, not bad against the #2 rush D. Could he start to produce against lighter teams.

Interested in any first hand observations of how he looked.

In the desperate scenario you've detailed above, Benson looked good enough to roster and see what happens. He wasn't good by any means, but he looked better than he did as a Bear against a very stout run D. I'm not ready to annoint him Cincy's feature back (and I don't really know what the would net you anyway) but he looked good enough to keep getting fed the ball today. Now that said, I personally feel that Palmer is roated duck this season, so I think ANY Cincy back continues to get a downgrade for a lack of a credible passing attack.

wait should have known...who in the hell would be watching a bengals game at this point of the season...except Joe the Plummer.

I'll give you a chance to clarify...Just for the record though, is it possible we were watching a STEELERS game?

I watched most of the game, and thought Benson ran quite well. He had a nice burst at times, and ran very strong. He has a very nice matchup vs HOU next week and will make a decent fill-in for teams with injured and/or bye week players.

:useless: I also thought he looked pretty good in the limited opportunities that he got. Keep in mind that they weren't really in any goal line situations and they remove him on 3rd downs. He showed a pretty good burst to me and probably gets more yardage against a weaker D.

 He ran north-south unlike Perry, who would dance and dance and then slowly hit the hole. I don't think Benson's anything but a low RB3 type with that offense, but he certainly looked good for a guy that had been on the street quite awhile.

If Benson looked good, and his stat line against Pitt was respectable, he could be a very interesting play going into the second half of the season. He'll get more familiar with the playbook and more comfortable in Cinci, and who knows what might happen.

The most interesting thing I saw in this game was that Perry didn't get a SINGLE carry. Was he even active? That does not bode well for Chris, and to me that's a signal from the coaching staff to Benson that he is their guy for now and should get out there and strut his stuff. So far, so good...

Did this run really happen last weekend or is this just one of those doctored videos made to look like Ced Benson knocking Polamulu's head off?

This run makes me feel comfortable cutting CP this week. Scratch that, CP makes me feel comfortable cutting CP this week!

The Bengals are so inept. That run was early in the 4th quarter, when they were only down 7 and he NEVER touched the ball again. Genius!

Seriously uclarick? I honestly didnt know that. Unreal.

I am starting him and Deuce this week....thank god I only have one loss in that league. But I was pleasantly surprised by benson. I had him when he won the job in Chicago and he was god awful. He looks like a different player now.

Good to see him put up a few numbers, but you still have to consider:

The Bengals line is playing poorly, and has all year
The Bengals are behind all the time. Pitt just slept through the first 3 quarters Sunday
The schedule is still brutal
Ced, IMO, still goes down on first contact WAY too often
Palmer is probably done for the year
