Fair enough by my goodness that’s a terrible version of the song.

I'm not saying Dawlf is wrong because that's how it's spelled and should be pronounced. My argument is more people say Doff than care to admit it.Fair enough by my goodness that’s a terrible version of the song.
Not everyone slurs the English language like you New Yorkers do.Wait people pronounce the L? W the F?
Is it in that book by him? It's like Nabakov. If you feel your tongue doing it, it is. 'Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth.'
It seems he switches back and forth. That's why he's a Hall of Famer.I hear the "l"![]()
Yeah, Tom, it is. It's on the first page. I had memorized that page once during a temp job because I had the book from the library. It's an incredible piece of writing for somebody on his fourth or fifth language. Just astounding. He always said that they took what they took away in exile was his native tongue of Russia. He's quite an incredible person. There's somebody here, who I don't remember, whose sister wrote a stunning thesis about him and Jewish persecution. I should find that old posting. I think it might be Sand.Is it in that book by him?
#teamNoL
Way ahead of you. We’ve already established people from the Northeast and Tanner are deaf

"What you mean? Rullll-doff?"
Has to be schtick - the Don/Dawn thing is so slight that it’s almost forgivable - this is just stupid.OrtonToOlsen said:Those of you who claim to say the "L": Does it ever bother you that you sound like Ross Geller trying out for the HS debate team?
Jared Goff's ancestors were actually Golfs. But when they got to Ellis Island the processor didn't pronounce the L and they end up Goff. True story.Wow. Seriously?
youre from NY/NJ correct?
How do you pronounce ‘golf’?
Do you guys also say the "L" in "talk" and "walk" and "could"?
No.Do you guys also say the "L" in "talk" and "walk" and "could"?
Less than half the time.Do you guys also say the "L" in "talk" and "walk" and "could"?
So your argument is that ALL L's are silent?Do you guys also say the "L" in "talk" and "walk" and "could"?
Ironically I pronounce the "L" in his first name but not his last.Aye-doff Hitler or Aye-dolf Hitler?
Adolf Hitter?Ironically I pronounce the "L" in his first name but not his last.
Good point - I don’t bother pronouncing the “d” either so somebody doesn’t steal my lunch money. Ruoph. It seems obvious. A bunch of nerds over pronounce things and say the l, which is totally fine and acceptable. Normal people don't because we don't want our underwear pulled over our heads.
Better safe than sorry.Good point - I don’t bother pronouncing the “d” either so somebody doesn’t steal my lunch money. Ruoph.
