How Early are you Starting to Drink? (1 Viewer)

For any real football fan, today is one of the greatest football days ever... We've got the two games we wanted all year; Broncos/Pats & Hawks/49ers. Top notch Conference Championship Weekend!

I woke up at 6:30 from pure excitement... I will be cracking my first beer by 9:30AM EST & consuming alcohol until...

Too early? What time are you starting?

At game time, I will probably have a beer or 2. If the Lions were in it, I would mixing up a extra spicy bloody mary right now.

It's not?

Possibly last Brady/Manning championship game & then two of the best teams in the NFL that are division rivals who absolutely hate each other playing in what might be the most hostile environment ever.

Supposed to be 60 here in KC today. Which means outside with the kids all day. Probably sneak in a few glances on the TV in the garage.

Can't waste this gorgeous day inside.

No, not ever. It's a good football day.

I would imagine any fan of the other 28 teams will be more excited about week 1 next year than today

Gonna be 70 today in Miami, not a cloud to be found and no rain. While I will be watching most of the game, you can't waste this kind of weather so off to Key Biscayne until the games start.

Good for you, enjoy.

Lions fan and like most years, I am just excited for the draft. Everything else is a letdown.

Lions fan here as well and Draft Weekend is like our Super Bowl.

Got food shopping and a little bit of work to catch up on. I'm glad the games start later than usual. Hopefully get everything done by 1 or 2, open a bottle of white with lunch and start on the beer by game time.

Probably not until game two, don't like to drink around the kids except in social gatherings. Craving a manhattan right now though, may break my rule today...

Greatest ever? Thanks for the heads up guess I better get #### faced!

(This Manning-Brady matchup is probably the least exciting one ever)

The matchups are awesome. But I'm already getting mad about the bull#### storylines being shoved down out throats by the talking heads. Nothing worse than a big matchup to bring out the over-hyped narrative machines.

I'm a little under the weather and have been doing the paleo diet so probably just a couple vodka sodas or beers during the game. Was so supposed to go get ####-faced at a bar with some co-workers (and our boss who is a huge pats fan) but pretty much my whole damn town is sick.

Wow. I didn't realize it was going to be so nice out today. I'm going to have to fire up the grill. Maybe do a smoke and watch part of the first game outside.

Yeah, I'm sure the grill will be going at my place later also. I have a cable outlet and power on the patio so I can run my little 13" TV out there in a pinch. It's my go to spot in the summer when the Royals are on.

On second thought life is too short to dwell on last weekend's defeat. There are only three games left and they guarantee to be great. Thanks for helping me get my head out of my ###.

Bourbon for breakfast it is, cheers!

I haven't had anything since Christmas Eve and feel great because if it. Good football games aren't going to change anything for me.

I have my first drink at 08 before I go to work. I am actually being punished for excessive drinking right now, so I work everyday. I have 6-10 drinks throughout the work day. Always brushing, mouth washing and chewing gum after. No one ever notices that I have been drinking. But once I get off, all hell breaks loose. Sometimes I consume half a handle in a few hours. Black-outs and shameful behavior follows. I am trying to reign that in. You all should be grateful that you aren't governed by the same rules. I would much rather smoke a J to relax.

Are you not able to drink responsibly around your kids? If so then maybe you should consider not drinking at all.

because I choose to have a couple few drinks after my kids are asleep? Ok, captain hyperbole.

Just wondering why you're ashamed of your drinking and feel the need to hide it.

Studies have shown that children exposed to drinking at a young age are more likely to drink themselves. Even if it is just 4.625% beer, kids observe their parents and emulate the behavior. I applaud Mac for thinking of his children. Bentley, it doesn't mean your kids will become alcoholics but they will almost certainly be drinking at a younger age than most. Hey, at least they will be get to be part of the in crowd.

exposing your kids to alcohol and teaching them responsible drinking are not mutually exclusive

Thread-Derail Activated!

I discouraged my son from drinking by letting him have a sip of my ipa. The bitterness pretty much did the job lol

Yeah, I fail to see how my kids drinking early is a problem. More concerned about their attitude regarding alcohol.

Still drunk!

Slightly more dangerous, but no gun so ill only break your head open!

Watching an online feed from Sky Sports. They are not afraid to complain about the refs. Refreshing.

Oh, and they have a Brit talking American football. Seems strange hearing him with the accent. But he knows his stuff.
