Doogie's infomercials as the doctor then lawyer, pretty funny.
Doogie as a manwhore = Doogie as a man in love = This show is going downhill very fast.
I thought that episode did a great job of blending both so they can move the plot to where it needs to go, his wedding, and kept all his barney in there. Aside from the first episode, i think this season has been pretty solid, but i do think this show needs to end soon.

sadly it got re-upped for i think 3 seasons. It needed to be a 4 season show with a defined story arch, then end it.

Didn't find that episode particularly funny, and at the risk of sounding like a nerd, the Halloween costume thing seemed to fly in the face of continuity. They did an episode about Ted wearing the same "Hanging Chad" costume for several years in a row to find the "Slutty Pumpkin," who they are bringing back this year. Italso established that Marshall and Lily are big into theme costumes - "Parrot and Gay Pirate" - and it never once referred to the Ted as the third part of the costume in previous years.

I hate Robin's haircut
The combination of her hair and awful clothes sparked a bit of a debate last night between the wife and I. I am of the impression that they are trying to make Robin look like the goofy Canuck she portrays, and that the bad hair, and lack of fashion sense is done intentionally to further the stereotype and that the actress is actually quite pretty. My wife is under the impression that the actor who plays Robin is simply an ugly skank.

I'm torn, I don't think she is as hot as many make her out to be but she is attractive obviously. I just don't know what is going on there.

Well the actress is from Canada and all Canadians are goofy.

I never really watched this show until this season, so maybe its just because the jokes aren't stale to me, but I am enjoying the show.

On a related note, the blond girl that was on the field trip last night was smoking hot/

I've said this before in this thread, but this is my favorite show of all time (right up there with Seinfeld). This is the only show I look forward to watching every week and never miss. I think the show is still great, and this is one of the better seasons. My favorite movie ever is Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, so the fact that they signed on Kumar for 8 episodes makes this season even better.

I have yet to follow the new episodes, but I'm watching every re-run I can. WGN has been playing the crap out of this show recently...I have to say, this is one of the best network comedies I've seen in 10 years or so.

It also just appeared (all 6 released seasons) on Netflix streaming. Pretty sweet.

This thing has circled round and is taking another run at the shark.
I realize that it's silly to get upset at sitcom writers, but as a guy who once wanted to write for television and movies, last night made me furious.I have no problem giving Robin a serious moment, but the entire device with her story to her "kids" was a complete cheat. It was just a cheap way to pull the rug out from under the audience.

The older episodes can be hit or miss but some are very funny. However, what really holds me back from thinking this show is very good is that outside of Barney I really don't like any of the main characters...at all.

And I don't see the debate, Robin is fugly

I hope that episode last night quiets all the conspiracy theorists that say Robin is the mother. I'd say that was the only one I've ever watched where I didn't at least laugh once.

Some of these last few shows have been brutally bad.
i don't know how many seasons they have left, but it's too many.it's fairly unwatchable now.
:goodposting:I catch all the reruns that I can, but didn't want to watch any from this current season because I kind of wanted to "go in order"... I watched a new episode the other night and it's brutal how much the characters have changedand how unfunny it is compared to the early episodes. And usually a show gets better with age. I remember thinkingthat about "That 70's Show".. I thought the later ones (before all the stars left) were much better than the early ones.

I find myself swaying back and forth on this, depending on the episode. One time I think "wow, NICE!! :pickle: "

The next time it's "holy crap, this chick is butt ugly"

Robin has definitely gotten uglier as the seasons have rolled on.

At this point, I'm just invested in it, and it makes me chuckle a few times every Monday. But the show is a shell of its former self

I won't argue that the show isn't going downhill. Clearly, it is. (Few shows make it 150+ episodes without it happening)

But I will not stand for the denigration of Robin Scherbatsky.

1. She is hot. "Hot as all hell" to be more precise.

2. She's a great character.

Frankly, I don't know how so many people feel like Barney's the only good character and watched/enjoyed the show for so long. Barney's funny, but he's a caricature.

I like Robin, Marshall, and Lily as much or more than Barney.

I really loved Robin in the first few seasons - but it does seem that they have tried to make her look unattractive for some reason. Its strange.

The early seasons this was one of my faves...then Zoey came and it hit the wall. I still like it - my favorite is the Marshall/Lily interaction followed by Barney. Not a fan of Ted or Robin....

Drunk Train was a good retro type episode....then they had to ruin it at the end!
