***Howard Stern*** (2 Viewers)

Any person that has no problem exploiting mentally challenged individuals, who can not defend themselves nor understand how they are being used, is a serious #####. (IMO)  I wouldn't give that ### the time of day.
Have you ever actually listened to the show or do you base this on what people have told you?
He probably never lsitened yet thinks 60% of it is crap.
I have seen his show on tv before. There is an episode where he has mentally handicapped people bowling, totally making fun of them. I've seen another where he has a mentally handicapped person doing disgusting pranks for him, totally exploiting a person who doesn't have the mental capacity to defend himself or understand that he is being used. Ya so, to answer your question, I've seen him exploiting the mentally handicapped for money. Bravo Howard, Bravo............
But you prob. didn't read the other post saying that the people he is "exploiting" make money for showing up for differant apperances. So if by Stern providing with them with money that prob. wouldn't be able to get in the real world he is exploiting them then so be it.
If Sterno is so concerned about the mental handicapped people, he could just give them money, not exploit them. Don't try to make it sound noble..... If you tell a child to flash people in the street and then pay them, does it make it right? No! I'm sure you will make light of this post, but think about it before you do.
You've been thinking of that since Jan. 11th?
Just got back from London, didn't even see it till today. No response on the issue I see....
Your the one with the issue. IMO there is nothing wrong with what he does.
I'd agree to disagree with you, but I can't.

Stern has been incredible of late -- haven't had much of a chance to listen to him, until they went with the continual replay and now I'm totally addicted again.

The continued implosion of Sal is going to be incredible to listen to, because the guy is clearly unable to control himself. Did you hear him say yesterday that he's $190,000 in debt -- 100k on a home equity line and 90 on credit cards!

Also, Benji went way too far with his shtick by trying to kiss Dice. These latecomers to the cast like Sal and Benji think they're just playing characters and don't understand there really is a "business" aspect to show business.

Loyal Stern listener for about 16 yrs, and the show right now is BETTER than it has ever been. Some recent highlights:

-Looping of the show on Howard 100 = pure f'n genius!  My radio doesnt leave the Stern channel anymore, it cant.  I catch different parts of the show on my way to work, way to and from lunch and way home from work and whenever else.  Love it

-They are almost doing 6 hrs of show these days.  Unreal!

-Artie has been unleashed and is unbelievable on Sirius.  If anybody caught him doing the Godfather scenes the other day, you caught one of the best moments in Stern show history.

-The sybian is $$$$.  Savanna Sampson rode it recently and really got into it big time

-The return of Andrew Dice Clay........OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

-Cant wait for the Daniel Carver roast next week

:goodposting: to everything above. Dice was awesome today and well....Sal is a lunatic.
I didn't hear much of it, but I thought Dice was aligned with O&A. Did something happen over there?

Dice destroyed those two yesterday. He basically said he needed to promote and since he was feuding with Howard, he had to do their show.

i'm also a fan of the continual loop. i listened to the dice interview 3 times yesterday. they must've received a bunch of negative feedback about the continual news loop they did previously.

Opie's dad died about a month before they went back on the air on XM. Dice had said that he wouldn't come on the new show until he got to talk to Opie personally about his father. I guess he wanted to get the "I'm sorry about your loss" out of the way before he went on the show. But Opie wasn't talking to anyone about that issue at that point in his life. He has just started to get over it and talk about it on the air of late. So I think that Dice thinks that O&A were ignoring him, so now he goes on other shows and bashes them. When O&A found out that Dice was attacking Opie yesterday on Stern I was waiting for the huge blowup, but it never came. I think that Opie was generally upset that a friend of his did that to him. I'm sure that after they get back from vacation after next week his feelings will change and we will see that he is generally pissed off about it.

 Dice did say this Anthony guy has some talent, but the Opie guy is a complete waste of life.

He basically said that he really needed to promote himself and at the time he was feuding with Howard, so he was basically forced into doing the next biggest ratings grabbers.

jaz, did you here the Stern show? Dice explained what happened between him and O&A. He said that when he was there with his son to promote a gig o&a were kinda making Dice look bad in front of his kid. Also saying they wouldn't go introduce him if he promoted his show on mancow's show. Dice has a huge dislike for opie. He said anthony is a funny guy and should have been a comedian.

No I didn't hear the show. I haven't listened to Stern since O&A came back.I'm not sure why he would say they were making him look bad in front of his kid, when he basically gave them all of the credit for allowing his kids to see him perform at MSG. He told them that his kids were too young to see him at MSG when he was huge the 1st time around, and he gave O&A all of the credit for getting him back in MSG a few years ago when they were on regular radio. From what Opie was saying yesterday, he had tears in his eyes thanking him after the MSG show.

As for the Mancow thing, they do hate mancow but they would never tell anyone where they can or can't do shows. They know that all of their guests/comedian friends have to do promotion on other shows, and some of those shows may be ones that they have problems with, but they would never tell someone else how to run their own careers. They don't even have problems with their friends doing Stern's show.

They then got into Dice a little yesterday. They talked about alot of the comedians that they have on their show that they met through Dice. They say that everyone of them had said that Dice will stab anyone in the back and that it would eventually happen to them. Which they never believed until yesterday. 2 of the big parts of their show (Jim Norton and Club Soda Kenny) where 2 of Dice's best friends and biggest supporters. But he turned on both of them. Kenny was like his personal slave, but he won't even talk to him anymore for some reason. They didn't get into what happened there on air.

I have to go to lunch now, but I hope I answered your questions. I'll check back after lunch to see if there are anymore.

Or what is going on with Kenny right now in terms of his real job and the problems he is having with that?If it is about the fallout, please post it. He said he would comment on the "Kenny thing" next time. So he didn't say anything this time. I'll let you know the next time he's on and what is said.

Is he talking all kinds of crap about Les Moonves? I'd imagine that could get pretty tired if he drives it into the ground like he's done with some past issues.

Yeah, he tends to go on a bit. Even tough it is usually funny it needs to be toned down a bit.

Artie also mentioned later that he knows Kenny and that he is going through some really big personal problems that can't/shouldn't be discussed in public right now.

I love Howard, but I wanted to vomit at the hypocrisy last week when he was joyful about the big fine the FCC slapped on CBS for something that aired on "Without A Trace" and the Janet Jackson stuff.

He's made a career out of positioning himself as a first amendment martyr and then was gleeful over an FCC fine, just because it was levied against CBS? Total BS

Basically this is what is going on. Kenny's standup act is basically all shock. It is funny because here is this big dumb looking guy making pedofile, rape, and beastiality jokes. What noone knew about Kenny except for his friends in the business is that he is a police officer. He works for Internal Affairs. Well someone got a tape of his act and anonmously sent it to his superiors and to some media outlets. He was suspended and an investigation was launched. The media in NY ran with the story and it was reported that he may be fired and lose his pension. I believe he only has less than a year left before he can get his full pension. So this has turned into a 1st Ammendment case now. I also dont' believe that it is over yet, so not all of the facts are out there right now.

Howard's hypocrisy is pretty well documented. He only cares about himself. And he wants all of the rules to be slanted in his favor. Here is some audio of him being a hypocrite

Artie also mentioned later that he knows Kenny and that he is going through some really big personal problems that can't/shouldn't be discussed in public right now.
From what I heard last week, I think Kenny might have settled already. It sounded like he will lose his job but still get his pension. And by the way, since when has Dice been been relavent?

The last time he was relevant was when O&A were pimping his gigs for him. I don't think that Stern is going to change that.

Dice is a legend. Who cares if hes revelant or not at the moment?Artie Dice Clay the last day and a half has been unbelievable

You really think so? More often than not, I find myself wishing that Artie would just shut up.His Dice imitation has been beaten so far into the ground that you can now hear it on 89.1 FM in Beijing.

He really pissed me off when he couldn't keep his mouth shut just as Savannah was reaching completion on the Sybian.

Wow, Artie has been unreal on Sirius, imo. Dont remember him speaking during the Savanna thing....but I do remember this gem from him that day. During the mexican delivery guy game, and the dude was dry-humping Savanna, thru all the hilarity and excitement going on in the studio you can hear Artie yelling........."AHH WHAT THE HELL, JUST F--- HER"

Wow, Artie imitating Dice. That's original.

Stern fans: How has the show about the show that reviews the show about the show about the show doing? Is it as good as the show about the show about the show?

Any new something the something characters on the regular show that I've missed since he signed off free radio?

I love Artie and think he's been on FIIIAH! lately, but I agree that his comment while Savannah was on the Sybian totally ruined her mood. She may say she finished, but I think Artie killed the bit right there. He does sound exactly like that Bag Guy, whatever his name is.

 Sometimes I listen to the aftershow stuff. I really don't care that much for it though. Gotta give Howard credit for throwing out lots of s to see what sticks. It might take him a year or so to really build a solid line-up.

There's so much on Sirius that I don't listen to most of the other stuff. It gives me a chance to check out the rest of the great Sirius programming (Hard Attack!)

keep feeding the army line though.

Army line? Whatever. I've been getting more enjoyment from O&A's program the last three months than I have with Stern's show over the last 10 years. It's just that good, they have a better relationship with guests, they aren't afraid of the backlash if they rip on lame guests, and they call out everyone (including each other) if they bomb. And I'm not a blind Stern basher. If he'd stop being an ENORMOUS ####-bag and fight back instead of the tired old "Howard Stern imitators" and "I started that, Robin, hoo hoo" lines, I wouldn't have lost respect for him. As I said before, he let O&A absolutely own him forever when he let them rip on his daughter without saying a word. Pathetic.

Then again, O&A isn't Debella or Mike & Brian. This is real competition, so I can understand him not wanting to fight.

But why do you think Howard should care about Opie and Anthony? You bring up DeBella or Mark and Brian. How long ago was that? He did what he had to to get to the point where he is now. He has no competition. O&A are meaningless to him and all they are trying to do is to get a response from him so they can get more publicity for themselves.

I loved O&A on WNEW and I probably should try to listen to them more on DirecTV but I don't usually like sitting in my living room listening to my TV. They have a great show which is much different from Howard. Why don't they, and their fans, just worry about their own show? How many Stern fans really care about O&A?

The show the other day with the fired DJ, Sal and Howards megaphone and Dice was one of the best shows I've EVER heard. Artie has really stepped up his game and since going to Sirius the show has been as good as it's ever been.

Very good show today with the guy who plays Fez on "That 70's Show." Can't believe the stuff he was saying about banging Lohan, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Mandy Moore.

On a related note, I took a long car trip this weekend and can't believe how good the programming on Sirius is. Since I got it at Christmas, I had mostly been listening only to Howard during my commute but I was really impressed with a lot of the channels. The very simple and appropriate analogy is that satellite radio is to regular radio what cable TV is to what you can pull in with rabbit ears.

Please expound. With great detail, and pictures if possible.

Total BS
He wasn't being hypocritcal. His issue was always why other broadcasters and his employers wouldn't stick up for him when the crap was hitting the fan. They should have had as much of a stake in protecting free speech rights as anyone but they caved. He speculated that some day the chickens would come home to roost and that has begun, except not with Oprah.

Wilmer f'n Valdarama. Lucky SOBI was a little shocked he talked about having a huge rod.

How bout Howard and Wilmer both saying Ashlee is hotter than Jessica

:goodposting: Though, yes, he can be a hypocrite at times. Not in this case, though.

Said he was dating Lohan right before she lost all her weight. That her boobs are real, that he -- not sure how to say this without being banned -- let's just say that he gave a lovely gift while they were dating, a piece of jewelry to be worn around the neck that is made from pearls. Also said that she doesn't have red hair down there, because she has no hair down there. Also, he took Mandy Moore's virginity, he's had a threesome and that he achieved rear entry with one of the famous women he dated.

So, lets get this straight. He violated Lindsay Lohan's chest right before it disappeared.

He deflowered Mandy Moore.

He's been with Jennifer Love Hewitt.

He's been with Ashlee Simpson and she's a screamer.

He's parked out back with an unnamed celeb, and had a 3way with her as well.

Fez is my new role model.

They keep claiming this Heidi Cortez chick will be on, but I never catch her. Today they said midnight, but 100 was rolling Howard's replay and 101 went to Bubba's replay. Does anyone know what the deal is with her show?

Errr.. nevermind, it was just on. Damn she's good.

Howard's Sirius show has me :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: all day long.

Absolutely hilarious. Since Dice came in, Fred and Artie keep banging away with Dice's "HOOOOOOOOOOOO"..... they did it throughout most of Robin's news today. Fred's timing with the sound effects is outstanding. He has me in tears.

--O&A have more listeners than Stern (Doesn't matter how you spin it, 6 million+ is more than 4 million+)--Stern admitted to putting a gag order on them (finally). He also said the most arrogant, hypocritical thing ever: "I believe in censorship when it's against me". IN addition, O&A could have handled not talking about him, but he also blocked guests from being on their show. This is why, if you listened during the NEW days, their biggest guests were Jay Mohr, Jim Breuer, and the guy who played Macauley (sp?) Culkin's bully brother in "Home Alone".

--Stern claimed he was the first to play the unedited Pat O'Brien tapes. O&A did it 8 months earlier and got credit for it at the time.

--Stern bashes XM for being behind the times when Sirius can't even get a damn pure portable unit (XM is ready to release their newest model that's thinner and plays MP3s; and before you rip me for towing the company line, I'm actually a Sirius investor so they're inability to put money behind their technology infuriates me more).

Do you really need more?

I would bet Stern has more listeners out of the 4mil than o and a have out of the 6mil. Don't get subscriber numbers mixed up with show listeners.

Hypocritical, yes. Do I care, no. If someone was bad mouthing me in my place of business I would do what I could to shut them up.

I could care less who had it first. It was funny the first and inly time I heard it on Stern so thats what counts. If o and a want the "I played O'Brien first" ribbon they can have it.

They are behind the times. They put 1.6 mill in adds for the last quarter of '05 only to lose in sub. numbers to Sirius. They put too much money into hardware and not into talent and content. I rather have a slightly less modern radio to listen to than a top notch, state of the art, radio that has no content, or talent.
Do you really need more?

the Stern haters should at least start their own O&A thread but you'll never see that because they have nothing of substance to post
