As a Cowboys fan, I guess you (zDragon) are familiar with what it feels like to see your biggest rival pimp slap you on their way to a championship.

I'd trade a year of my rival winning (not that I'd like it) if it could help us dominate them for the next 5-10.

I would not trade watching Brett Favre hoist the Lombardi trophy wearing purple and gold for a possible 1st round pick that could fizzle out.Because them winning it all, means the team ended up with the last pick in the 1st round.Its not like they are getting a top 10 pick with it.

Everyone I watch the games with laughs when the scroll bar comes by and the Jets are up and the Pack are down. The image of going from 13-3 to 5-9 is the biggest factor for the casual fan. Heck most of them think the Lions beat the Pack. I think the Packers blow them out but that's my opinion.Only 7 teams have a worse record right now than the packers. Last year 1 team had a better record and they were trying to make history.The Jets last year only had 2 teams with a worse record than them. This year only 5 teams have a better record than them.So the Packers trading away the QB (future HOF) that got them to within one of the Super Bowl and plummet while the terrible team they trade him to are looking at the play-offs makes people laugh at the entire Packer organization.I think it was the right thing to do but a lot of people are watching and enjoying it.

To me horrid describes the Lions or the bottom 10% of the leauge. So your probably a little off on the description of the defense. Favre is a glorified has-been who only made the Pro Bowl on career accomplishments and not based on his play this year. Same way Faneca got voted to the Pro Bowl. This year Rodgers>>>>>>>>>>>>>Favre. Looking forward, as the franchise must do, Rodgers is clearly the better option and the "transition" season is a necessity.

Would you rather have them drive 80 yards and stall on the 7 (after stopping them one other time in the under 4 minute time perdiod...or have them go 80 for the tying (or in last week's case winning) TD? Everyone I watch the games with laughs when the scroll bar comes by and the Jets are up and the Pack are down. The image of going from 13-3 to 5-9 is the biggest factor for the casual fan. Heck most of them think the Lions beat the Pack. I think the Packers blow them out but that's my opinion.Only 7 teams have a worse record right now than the packers. Last year 1 team had a better record and they were trying to make history.The Jets last year only had 2 teams with a worse record than them. This year only 5 teams have a better record than them.So the Packers trading away the QB (future HOF) that got them to within one of the Super Bowl and plummet while the terrible team they trade him to are looking at the play-offs makes people laugh at the entire Packer organization.I think it was the right thing to do but a lot of people are watching and enjoying it.

Were you asleep when the Jets spent a boatload of money on free agents this offseason? Favre has little to do with the Jets record or the Packers record this season.

Apparently enough people disagreed with you to get him in the pro-bowl.

I'm right and they are wrong. I don't care how many people voted Favre into the Pro Bowl. He did not deserve it this year.

Not do Favre's physical capabilities but his long earned leadership would have most likely pushed this team to win a few more close and probably be a playoff team.

Favre would have maybe got them into the playoffs this season but I still don't believe they would have pulled it together enough to make a deep run into the playoffs. I dont really think Rodgers experience this year is too huge of a factor for the future. It will help a bit, but if this really were such a huge factor I think we would see a huge improvement from day 1 til now. I think it is pretty impossible to argue that Rodgers has really improved too much. In fact you could probably make the argument he has regressed. There are tons of non rookie first year starting QBs that are extremely successful right off the bat. There is also no doubt that they were committed to locking Rodgers up no matter what. They only waited til 7 games in this year and I am sure those negotiations didnt just start the day before they signed him. If all these injuries were going to happen and the team wasnt very good like many argue, I think a farewell tour for Brett Favre would have been far better for the fans than this big dump of a season.

I think his experience puts him a year further down the road...rather than coming in next year and being a first year starter (hopefully he learned from some of the mistakes he had this year).Your last line I just cannot agree with...and proves my point that if they were not going to win it all, bringing him back was about nostalgia and emotion.

True. Then again there are a lot of jerks around that this doesn't apply to and they would not even consider it an issue.With that being said. Did the coaches actually give Rodgers their word or just talk to him about taking over once Brett was gone. To me it would be in how they handled Rodgers which none of us really know so in actuality it's really not a discussion that would lead anywhere.

Even if they had come out and specifically promised him the job.I don't have a problem with them taking that back if they felt Favre was better or the answer for the team this year. IMO, they made the decision, and them giving Rodgers their word or annointing him really had little to do with why they stuck with him and not Favre.

If it was one year and Rodgers got the job the next year and got playing time this year in blowouts I would have been fine with it.McCarthy and Favre met in TC to discuss a compromise and couldn't agree on one. I expect Favre turned such a deal down. That meant Rodgers would end up a free agent(2010) before Favre decided to retire.Favre's indecision came back to hurt everyone.
