Huddle up, Peyton Owners. What's our plan? (1 Viewer)

I'm sticking with him...for now! have Eli as his back up in one league. Planning to pick up Carson Palmer in another league that I don't have a back up.

Hoping for a huge week 2.

I've played fantasy for over a decade now, and got him for the first time ever, in any league, this season. It's a dynasty where I also have Jordy, Kelvin Benjamin, TY Hilton, and am currently rolling out Benny Cunningham/Chris Johnson/Devonta Freeman as my RB2 platoon.

I'm not going to worry too much about what to do with Peyton. I think I'm going to take up knitting or something this fall.

Though, if he has a bad week again, I might cut him, as it'll be a good way to bleed somebody of some FAAB money, and I can almost certainly use whoever might be cut for him.

Same here (but in redraft). I was psyched to finally own him.

Not panicking yet. 16-team league where there's not much out there. I put in a claim on ASmith, but not sure I'd start him over Peyton next week (especially since Denver D is legit).

Good to see there are still believers in this thread. Hopefully there are one or two in my league. I'll be more than happy to be "taken advantage of for panicking." Meanwhile, can't believe I need to burn a #4 WW spot on Tyrod Taylor.

After the game this week he has a pretty favorable schedule: Det, Min, Oak, Cle

I don't own him but I do have Thomas so I'm invested in him. If you want to trade him, I would look to do it after the Oakland game when chances are he is coming off three pretty productive games.

Peyton will be exposed in Kansas City. His value will probably never be lower... if you can work out a trade before Thursday, I would do it

This sounds like good advice to me. It was in KC last year when things took a turn (for the bad) for Peyton... and the old Peyton (hmm, double meaning there) has yet to resurface.

Even for those that think he will be much improved (eventually), this Thursday has all the makings for a disaster of a game for Manning. This is the hump that KC must get over if they want to get to the next level.

I dont own him. But if I had a good backup Id definitely bench him this week. The question is what is a good backup? Rivers, Bradford? No question. Mariota? Not so sure there yet.

Kind of like KC exposed Brady last year. With sorry 0-line play, I wouldn't hold a bad game in KC on a short week against him.

Starting to consider targeting as a buy low from Peyton owners who panic if things don't go well in KC with the ROS matchups.

Yeah but Brady doesn't look like he's 150 years old either.

The good news is that he will definitely improve... currently ranked as #32 QB in my league... no reason to think he can't finish in the mid 20's :bag:

50%+ faab on Mariota. Do it.

G/L to you all. I know your pain. Peyton single-handedly cost me a championship last year with 4 ints in the rain @Cincy.

Luckily you probably play in a start 1 QB league and it's only week 2.

I could start mariota over him but it's too early to get that cute.
You should definitely start Mariota this week. Think of it this way, maybe you'll be wrong and Peyton has a good game. But that would bode really well for the rest of the season.

Anyway, I like Mariota against Cleveland too.

I'd stay put.

My hunch says he'll gradually end up running his old offense.
This is where I'm at. He looked very uncomfortable. When was the last time he ran someone else's offense? A decade ago? Kubiaks offense is slow and plodding. If Broncos go 0-2, I can't see Peyton sticking to it past week 3 or 4.

Selling now is a waste. He will become my b/u QB if needed. Include him in a multi player trade? Sure, but he's a hold for me. I bought him for pennies on the dollar anyway.

Im goin back n forth w peyton cam and garbage time winston.... all terrible i know. Probably going to stick with peyton fwiw

Starting Kaepernick over him, at least he can get rushing yards
In the exact same situation and thought about doing this all day but am leaving him in. Also am starting Daniels because it looks like Walker won't play and I have D Thomas.

I benched Peyton Manning for Eli Manning. Never thought I'd say that.

He's not matchup proof anymore like he used to be, and KC, in Arrowhead, on a short week, with 20+ mph wind gusts, combined with how he has looked dating back to week 13 of last year, is simply not a matchup I like.

I heard a stat today that dating back to Week 13 of last year, he is QB #27 overall in fantasy points. Think about that. Over a 5 week span, Peyton Manning is QB27.

In that same timeframe, 7 kickers have more fantasy points than him.

I dont think arm strength is the only concern of Peyton. He is already taken a lot of hits this year.
